I Think My Ego Is Too Big To Get Enlightened

When you do stuff, you create conditioning, the mind gets shaped. Spiritual practice is the conditioning your mind needs in order to defeat the egoic part of your mind, allowing the recognition that you are home and always have been, but you've been living in a dark room inside it  

The dark room is called identification with form, it's less than 1% of your entire house.

The most elusive thought, because it is super ancient in origin, is the I thought, cut it through awareness and the whole egoic tree with wither and die!! Leaving only you, leaving only truth.

So being is the conditioning for my mind that will defeat my ego?

But I cant do being so I cant do spiritual practice so I cant do conditioning?

you can't do being, because you are being. But as long as you give yourself, awareness, to the identification with mind, it is going to survive and thrive. Anyway we are playing a game of words. Pointers, it's not a mathematical equation for your mind to think about, this is the entire thing and why it is so elusive.

Words create gap between you and reality. Before learning a language , your every experience was a wonder, now everything is blurred.

You can witness your thoughts, witnessing is separate from thoughts, mind. It is a technique towards meditation.

Ok, let me try again. Mind has no reality in the present moment. Only you have reality in the present moment. Mind has reality in time. The only reality is Now. 

Mind can never enter the now. You are always now. 

Enlightenment does not mean losing the ability to think. It's closer to knowing experientialy that you are not the one doing anything. Life happens by itself. Ego is a self contained lie that can only be destroyed by the power of the present moment, because the present moment is the only truth.

Thought has duration, you don't.

I get that, but words are a part of reality also.

You say "now everything is blurred," but that is not true because those are just words. Right?

Desires that you are to learn from = your inner childs desires.

Whats between you and your enlightened self is the child within you thats been denied love. Dont tell it to build brick walls. Its a bundle of love thats been hurt and supressed over ans over.

You dont have a big ego. You havbe a bleeding child inside.

What is called enlightenment is just being, it doesn't take any work to just be, although to be at peace with it may take some cultivation of the mind.

Very rarely will someone have a mind that is predisposed to being at peace with just being because in developing as a child we get conditioned in ways not conducive for being at peace. So when we just be with a mind in unrest we are miserable just being with that. This is why people work to prepare the mind so it's adapted for just being and being at peace with it.

Personal development is working with the consciousness for a different goal than seeking enlightenment. It's more focused on finding our personal preferences and satisfying the needs and desires that are typically associated with the self conscious.

The overlap of the two differing methods comes where in personal development the individual seeks peace, contentment and happiness with themselves. Someone can find peace and happiness without reaching the type of enlightenment that those who are seeking that, do. Although, it will follow similar ideas and concepts in the mind to find it in both methods.

At some point the paths of seeking personal development and seeking enlightenment diverge because of the intent of the seeker.

It is so fucking funny. There is no choice. Ironically, the questions you are asking will ultimately lead you to nothing, once they realize that the contradiction being questioned is the crux of the matter. There is no way to say this without being contradictory, so I will just say it:

1) Do you control your thoughts? If not, Is there control over any sensation?

2) If there is no control over any sensation, and they arise out of nothing at complete random, How can nothing ever have choice? If Nothing can't have choice, what is the purpose of the self? Is it an assumption that life must have a meaning to the self (i.e. does what is happening care about thoughts about what is happening.)? IF there was no overarching meaning, and no choice, would whats happening care, or would it continue to just happen as it is?

3) What is nothing. Is it a void, or is it something that is completely unexpressable? Is it an empty space, or is it NOTHING!?

4) Can thought ever know nothing? Can something imagined ever know the nothing outside of itself (where all the unicorns and psychic powers are supposed to exist)?

5) What do you think enlightenment is? Would a good guess be: "never this"? Why is this so unacceptable, and what is it unacceptable to? 

 

Things just happen. After things happen, deliberation happens. Deliberation is what is happening after what is happening happens. Either way, there is only what is happening. Have fun working that out. Or not. Whatever happens is what will happen. It is completely unknowable.

Also, working at walmart isnt what is happening, which makes it a story. Stories are irrelevant projections. There is no reason to think about it happening because if it happens, that will be what is happening.

@Seraph  It doesn't matter how big your ego is because you transcend ego. When you see ego for what it really is how can that matter. That your ego is to big is just an excuse not to do the work. There are lots of excuses to either do or don't isn't there?
