Does God come to me or shall I knock on his door?

Deep down I know that I am the Absolute, that I am God, the One and Only Being. I haven't awoken to God-Consciousness, but my intuition is pointing me to it.

To reach God, to fully realize yourself as God, you have to put yourself on the way, put in all the effort, all the spiritual work, to finally reach HIM one day. So its a very active path on the one hand.

 

But isn't reality also designed in a way, that God gives you signs, bread crumbs, clues, hints, to point to this Truth? You just have to see these hints. And these bread crumbs are like glitches in a otherwise perfectly constructed dream. You could say that God put these on purpose into his Dream, so that it isn't impossible for the Dreamer, Me, to see Him one day, to make the way easier in a way. 

These bread crumbs, which are put here can be suffering, beauty, art, love, psychedelics, Actualized.org etc.

 

So am I getting it right, that reality is designed in such a way that I have to put effort and also God puts effort for me realizing myself as Him one day?

 

The Quran also says: And whoever comes to Me walking, I will go to him running.

 

or Allah says: “Take one step towards me, I will take ten steps towards you. Walk towards me, I will run towards you.” Hadith Qudsi.

I believe so, if you feel authentically called to this spiritual path, you oughta walk it with your best effort. The reason nobody is awake is that it's hard. 
"God helps those who help themselves", "Man proposes, God disposes", etc.

But, there's also "Whichever way you turn, there's the face of God", so while you may pursue God, don't forget he's already always here.

The Bible also says pray to me and I shall give you what you want the doors shall open for the one who knocks

And I see you are into sufism so here's another example from a sufi master (Hafiz) who also has this poem

Although You won't be given connection to him through effort

But O heart try and do efforts as much as you can

God comes to you but only if you first have this want for him to come to you or you could say He opens the door for you but only if you knock on it

This is also the first Vadi in Attar's seven Vadis of love "Wanting God"

Without the first want and desire for God you can't go onto the path

So you're right just keep knocking on God's door and the door shall be open to you one day

Well, that's what happened to me at least. Is he hinting at you? If so, are you writing them down, if not, why not?

I think the phrase "God meets you halfway" is a powerful one. It's a compromise between the attitude that everything is already God, so no need to do anything, and the opposite attitude that you must pursue awakening like a person would pursue water with their hair on fire.
