I didn't think there was enough research on psychedelics to make a degree out of it. Seems like they still have a long way to go

By the way I heard before Covid that in US the FDA were suppose to approve MDMA for medical use, they had 30 years of double blind placebo study and were suppose to approve it. (It’s funny that other medications take so much less and so many have more side effect). Anyone has any idea if that ever passed? It was either in 2018 or early 2019, but then Covid happened and etc. I really wish they would make it to the market.

Also it’s a first time I see the mass media uses mysticism with psychedelics, it’s a good sign. Because in the mainstream psychedelics associated more with therapy, especially for mental health. But what about people who do not need mental health therapy and want to use specifically for spiritual growth.  There are few things to read between the lines in that article and I applaud for actually bringing those points in. We want to see more in psychotics than just mental therapy.

@LambdaDelta Wow this is very cool. Master of Arts: Psychedelics and Consciousness Studies

Lmao, imagine Consciousness Studies being a department in all universities, using tools like entheogens for cutting edge research.

Quote

“The program is unique in Integrating spiritual guidance within the Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy framework.”

Dr. Anne Vallely

— Program co-director and Professor in the Department of Classics and Religious Studies.

"While such transpersonal experiences can lead to life changing insights, they can also trigger existential challenges that go beyond what traditional clinical training can tackle. Our program addresses this by integrating psychological and spiritual training: students learn about the human quest for transcendence and the mythic structures of consciousness alongside the psychology of mental health, neuroscience, and the dynamics of therapeutic encounters."

Program Highlights

Interdisciplinary Education: Students will explore the spiritual, ritual, and therapeutic uses of psychedelics to gain insights from diverse cultural perspectives.

Advanced Research: Emphasis on innovative research in consciousness studies, comparative mysticism, and mental health.

Culturally Sensitive Therapies: Students will learn to deliver culturally sensitive psychedelic-assisted therapies.

Professional Training: Practical training for licensed medical providers to become skilled facilitators and integration counselors for psychedelic treatment sessions.

Spiritual Care Training: Spiritual caregivers - including clergy and chaplains - will receive training to support individuals undergoing psychedelic treatments for mental health, bereavement, and end-of-life.

Traditional Healing Practices: Based on Indigenous traditions of psychedelic plant use for wellness and spirituality, there is interdisciplinary training on psychedelics in shamanic or ritualistic settings, in collaboration with experienced Indigenous and traditional healers.

This one-year online MA program, which can be completed on a part-time basis over two years, is open to students worldwide. It is designed to cater to four primary groups:

Licensed mental health and medical professionals.

Ordained or commissioned clergy, chaplains, and spiritual care professionals.

Shamanic and ritualistic traditional entheogenic healers.

Researchers focused on advancing academic study of psychedelics.

Although requirements seem much more heavy in the ottawa innernet for the Master.

It's honestly the first time I see a serious university making a serious degree in Psychedelics+Consciousness. This is huge, I would love to study something among these lines.

God-Realize, this is First Business. Know that unless I live properly, this is not possible.

There is this body, I should know the requirements of my body. This is first duty. We have obligations towards others, loved ones, family, society, etc. Without material wealth we cannot do these things, for that a professional duty.

There is Mind; mind is tricky. Its higher nature should be nurtured, then Mind becomes mature and Conscious. When all Duties are continuously fulfilled, then life becomes steady. In this steady life God is available; via 5-MeO-DMT, ... Living in Self-Love, Realizing I am Infinity & I am God
