Transcending pain ?

Is pain even possible at higher states of consciousness ? No ego means no resistance means no pain ? 

Conversely, can't ego only take so much before it clicks off, so that pain goes full circle and leads to higher states of consciousness ?

 

 

No space, no time, nothing but you/this/here/now
