Is organic food bullshit?

11 posts in this topic

Recently I finally decided and succeeded in getting sober, sober from social media, sober from all the brainwashing in several areas of my life that I got from it, including nutrition. I've been buying organic food for a long time now, and I am considering reverting back to normal foods to save money for a project. Now that I look at my fridge, I question it, how can milk even be organic? what does that even mean? It's probably not worth my money now that I think about it.

I unfollowed most bullshit YouTube channels and decided only to follow credible ones like Mike Israetel, Layne Norton, and Peter Attia, although I don't even watch them these days. I opened Youtube for a minute and saw Mike talking about organic food being bullshit, I largely agree with his stances, but I decided to double-check with you guys.

Mike is dumb here, organic is just a common misnomer to say that there are no pesticides/fungicide/insecticide and he “flex” by talking about carbon lol.

Sorry to bring this up, but if you're ruminating so much about having a girlfriend, you shouldn't even waste your energy on this kind of loop.

We have to spend sexual energy like money, that is to say on the most important things. Good mental health is much, MUCH more important for preserving and repairing the body than an organic diet or not.

Having sexual and romantic relationship, meditation, sport, go to a nightclub with friends, etcetc >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> your organic food (and even orthorexia ? btw ?) to reducing stress and allowing your body to recover.

DONT LOSE YOUR SEXUAL POWER IN USELESS LOOPS.

STOP BEING A GUY WHO HIDES BEHIND PHOTOSHOP GLASSES AND TALKS ABOUT ANXIOUS RANDOMS STUFF (SUPPLEMENTS, ORGANIC FOOD LOL)

DO YOU HEAR MIRROR N°348429? NOW TAKE OFF THOSE GLASSES IN YOUR PROFILE PIC, AND SMOKE SOME BIG CIGARS WITH ME BEFORE YOU PICK UP.

This.

Unless organic means something fundamentally different in the US. I am usually a big Dr. Mike advocate and I think he is still golden about most things.

Don't underestimate the tendency of people, even famous people and intellectuals, to want to flex in stupid things ahah.

Its nice if you can afford it and there might be some benefit which is more about reducing toxin exposure than getting some form of superior nutrition.

If you can barely afford healthy food then eating a lot of non-organic fruits and vegetables with be better for you than eating very little and only organic or not eating any at all, that one seems pretty clear at the moment.

If you have the money to spend, then maybe selectively choosing either those that have notoriously high pesticide residue or those that you eat the most of.

Or just focus on whatever is treated the least in your country, work with GPT to help you put together a list to maximise fibre and antioxidant content and minimise toxin exposure.

It is a difficult question. I wouldn't say that it is BS and then spew nonsense about carbon molecules, Brian Clement was the first one to came with this. Organic, amongst general public means something different so there is no need to play a smartass because he has a PhD. Yes, maybe the true scientific meaning is different, but at this stage, who cares.

Eat your veggies, eat your fruits. Some is better than none and more is better than some. Enjoy your life, don't sweat the small stuff. Find a nice girl, start a family, find your purpose and live a fulfilling life. Food obsession only leads to a miserable existence (speaking form past personal experience)

To no longer waste time on such considerations if you're frustrated elsewhere
Even I, who often talk about nutrition, am chill and I don't lose too much energy unnecessarily, I even drink alcohol (sometimes).

It depends on what you mean with worth It.

My understanding is that organic VS non organic is not just about pesticides.

It is about the whole process of producing the food, which includes a conscious use of the soil where the food grows.

Most tradicional farming have almost destroyed soil, your food might have "Only" 20% less of vitamins than organic food (or just the same) but might lack the complexitiy of micronutrients that a rich healthy soil has.

Organic farms not Only Apply conscious and healthy measures to pesticides, but also to the basis/structure where the food grows, which is the soil.

Organic food tends to taste different compared to its conventional counterpart. Test it out and see which one you prefer.

Not true. Organic farming = sustainable agricultural system that uses ecologically based pest controls. It's mostly better for the environment, probably also better for consumers.

This.

For curiosity, organic seems to yield 25% less than non-organic. Disconsidering differences in pesticide, fertilizer, & other costs, one can use a simple rule of thumb to assess whether the price of an organic food is fair.

Personally, I always buy organic because I believe it might be healthier and better for the planet. Which might not be true.

If I wasn't able to afford organic I wouldn't matter much about it.
