Increasing the distance between you and thoughts

Let's say you can create a little space between you and your thoughts by meditating. This gives you some peace and clarity. But what if you create a LOT of space? More space = more peace? What about INFINITE space between you and your thoughts?

That's just thought creating the space between thought and space. There is no space between you and your thoughts. That space IS thought. There is already no separation. That's thought trying to keep it's continuity going. That's what meditation does. It's the mediator of thoughts. That which separates the thought is just another thought.

So what creates the "physical world" around us? Is that also thought?

"Nothing" is more apt. 

It's not being "replaced", it's just being "seen through." Like thinking a rope is a snake, and then realizing it is just a rope.

Imagine realizing that every single thing you thought of was never actually describing anything. Thoughts become more of a drawing board. Still useful and interesting, but nothing is there aside from the thought.

You have to be able to press the button: nothing means anything. the meaning does not exist. then reality opens up. It is not a question of space between thoughts but of deactivating their charge.

You have to get into a mental frequency where you are completely aware that nothing you think has any meaning. then you enter a state of flow. Whoever says that this is entering into nothingness does not understand. Without thought there is something, in fact, there is everything. It is the thoughts that are nothing

Interesting. Are physical objects more "persistent" than thoughts of a vacation for example? How do these degrees work? 

Because if all is equal as thought then I should be able to think my way into enlightenment, or a tropical vacation, but that is not the case. 

Or: is the stretching of the elastic band and snapping it equal to enlightenment?

Physical objects are just what is occurring now. They don't point to things that aren't occurring now, and they don't describe anything, unlike thoughts.

For example, a hammer can't describe something else, but the word "hammer" describes a hammer by causing you to imagine a hammer. Descriptions are intellect, they point to objects, but they never are objects, since objects don't describe. Only imagination describes. 

The key point is that the thought is never reaching outside of what occurs now. "Now" encapsulates the entire experience. Thoughts about vacation can happen now, but physically there is no vacation, and that's all there really is to it.

Are you referring to the nature of thought, since it can't describe anything outside of itself?

There are things left over without thinking, but you just can't imagine what they are. They aren't anything you think they are. There aren't "things" because "things" are imaginary divisions. There isn't any thing, hence, "nothing" or "no thing."
