Is drinking water from plastic bottles bad for you?

@Jason Actualization how much energy do you spend on distilling water? Do you pay a lot for electricity?

Also, most water distillers come with those charcoal sachets that are supposed to catch any chemicals and organic compounds that have lower boiling temperature than water. But I don't have high hopes in them. What do you think about that?
