I know all that and Ralston knows all that.

Ralston's work is not based on any human rules. It is based on insanely deep insights into the physics and psychology of combat.

I think you idolize him, his work has practically no impact on modern fighting. Sure he might have also been aware traditional martial arts were ineffectual, im struggling to see the signfiicance of mentioning him.

Further his work on conciousness or spirituality, you or anyone else cannot even describe a simple idea of his which is novel or isnt available en masse in the spiritual literature. Not a single case Ive seen so far. Its pure adulation with no substance whilst simultaneosly been told to go read all his books. Like a huge circle jerk .

But that's an assumption, based merely on what he says about it himself. Why do you believe him?

Because I understand his worldclass genius.

I have plenty of disagreements with him.

Because he doesn't care about promoting himself. What you are talking about is promotion and popularity. That is not Ralston's game.

It's hard to explain his genius to someone with your attitude. And frankly I don't want to because you show too much closedmindedness.

LOL its nothing to do with closemindedness, I have to work hard to close my mind down to function

Its just discourse etiquette. I would never recommend someone to you or anyone else if I didnt have capability or willingness to tell you exactly what about their work I liked and give you specific ideas and insights of theirs and why I think theyre innovative or unique - it's basic consideration. No one does that here it just seems like an echo chamber

That seems gullible to me. You should seek to verify it, to yourself or even just by some evidence he provides.

The issue is maybe Im coming across facetious or something. But Im srious I genuinely would like to know if Im missin something, and putting a 100hrs in to reading his books to confirm theres nothing novel isnt a good use of anyones time ! I used AI to analyse his work and couldnt see anything so profoudnly innovative or different then most spiritual teachers, and asking you guys leads to a circular end.

One of the underappreciated advatanges of calling people rats, as I do, is that when I call someone a genius, you really know that there is something very special about said person.

Peter Ralston is one of the few spiritual non-rats. That is the highest compliment one gets from me, whatever that's worth.

Peter Ralston is one of the few spiritual non-rats.

Peter Ralston's spiritual teachings are deeply interwoven with his philosophical inquiries and practical approaches to understanding consciousness, reality, and being. Here are ten key spiritual ideas from his works, including "The Book of Not Knowing" and other writings:

### 1. **The Nature of Being and Not Knowing**
- **Concept**: True understanding begins with acknowledging that we do not know. This idea encourages a state of openness and curiosity, leading to deeper insights into the nature of being.
- **Source**: "The Book of Not Knowing"

### 2. **Direct Experience over Conceptual Understanding**
- **Concept**: Genuine insight comes from direct experience rather than intellectual or conceptual knowledge. One must experience truth firsthand to truly understand it.
- **Source**: "The Book of Not Knowing"

### 3. **Effortless Power**
- **Concept**: True power and effectiveness come from relaxation, alignment, and minimal effort. This principle applies not only to martial arts but to all aspects of life, emphasizing harmony with natural forces.
- **Source**: "Zen Body-Being: An Enlightened Approach to Physical Skill, Grace, and Power"

### 4. **Questioning Assumptions**
- **Concept**: Constantly questioning one's assumptions and beliefs is crucial for spiritual growth. This process helps in breaking down false perceptions and reaching deeper truths.
- **Source**: "The Book of Not Knowing"

### 5. **Embodied Awareness**
- **Concept**: Awareness should be fully embodied, meaning that understanding and insights are integrated into one's physical being and daily actions, not just remaining as abstract thoughts.
- **Source**: "Zen Body-Being"

### 6. **Consciousness and Self-Inquiry**
- **Concept**: Deep self-inquiry into the nature of consciousness and the self is essential for spiritual development. This involves exploring the mind and its processes to understand the true nature of existence.
- **Source**: "Consciousness Dialogues"

### 7. **True Perception**
- **Concept**: Striving for true perception involves seeing reality as it is, free from the distortions of preconceived notions, biases, and conditioned beliefs.
- **Source**: "The Book of Not Knowing"

### 8. **The Relational Mind**
- **Concept**: Our relationships with others reflect our inner state. Understanding oneself deeply enhances the ability to connect genuinely with others, fostering authentic and meaningful interactions.
- **Source**: "The Principles of Effortless Power"

### 9. **Living in Alignment with Truth**
- **Concept**: Living a life in alignment with one's true nature and the truths discovered through self-inquiry leads to a more harmonious and fulfilling existence. This involves embracing authenticity and integrity.
- **Source**: "The Principles of Effortless Power"

### 10. **Meditation and Contemplative Practice**
- **Concept**: Meditation and contemplation are vital practices for exploring consciousness and the nature of being. These practices help quiet the mind and foster deep self-inquiry and awareness.
- **Source**: "Cheng Hsin: The Principles of Effortless Power"

### Summary

Peter Ralston’s spiritual ideas focus on the importance of direct experience, questioning assumptions, embodied awareness, and living in alignment with discovered truths. His teachings encourage deep self-inquiry, authentic interactions, and effortless power, integrating these principles into both martial arts and everyday life. These ideas are foundational to his works, including "The Book of Not Knowing," "Zen Body-Being," and "Consciousness Dialogues."

Is this missing any of his core work?

Rats are pretty cool though, so I take it as an insult to Ralson, which I might agree with.

@bambi @Scholar Your disposition is the epitome of ignorance. Instead of taking your first impressions at face value, pay some attention.

No offence but are you brain dead, you're literally repeating the same bullshit ive been highlighitng all throughout the thread.

Why not acquire some intelligence, work on articulation skills, and EXPLAIN EXATLY WHAT ABOUT THIS FUCKING WORK YOU LIKE AND WHY WE SHOULD STUDY IT,

Simply saying 'herp derp u guyz not smart u must read his bookz', is no compelling fucking reason to read his work, infact quite the opposite.

This is standard discourse etiquette, simply parotting 'Your mising out if you dont read his work.' 'Im not telling you you need to read the work' is pure utter idioicy.

Even your response is just fucking idioicy, your non-specific, you cannot formulate a single specific argument or point to save your life, its maddening

@bambi Calm down.

Pay attention and listen to it first before dismissing his work.

Not gonna argue with you.

God-Realize, this is First Business. Know that unless I live properly, this is not possible.

There is this body, I should know the requirements of my body. This is first duty. We have obligations towards others, loved ones, family, society, etc. Without material wealth we cannot do these things, for that a professional duty.

There is Mind; mind is tricky. Its higher nature should be nurtured, then Mind becomes Virtuous and Conscious. When all Duties are continuously fulfilled, then life becomes steady. In this steady life God is available; via 5-MeO-DMT, ... Living in Self-Love, Realizing I am Infinity & I am God

Why? What makes you believe Ralston is truthful/accurate about his own self-assessment?
