Election Rights

1 post in this topic

I’m gonna go straight to the point, I am a permanent resident of the U.S, I’m not a citizen yet, I pay taxes, I follow all the laws, rules and even norms of the country, I am a part of this society, it’s economy, and therefore anything that goes on on the political realm affects my life and my business, but I’m not able to vote until I become a citizen ( which you gotta be a resident for 5 years before you can even apply ) so I’m gonna be missing a whole election cycle without being able to have a vote or have my voice heard .

now you might say it’s just one vote it wouldn’t make a difference anyway, but there are millions of us that don’t even have the right to vote, the right which could make or break our future.

I think we should have the right to vote a lot sooner than 5 years, what do you think?
