Ambush Predators Mega-Thread ( mostly crocs )

105 posts in this topic

Core characteristics of ambush predators:

Camouflage: Ability to blend into the environment to avoid detection by prey.

Stealth: Minimal movement and silent approach to remain unnoticed.

Patience: Willingness to wait for extended periods until prey comes within striking distance.

Sudden Attack: Rapid and explosive movement to capture prey quickly.

Precision: Accurate and well-timed strikes to ensure successful capture.

From Leo's Blog:

The irony would be if the camaraman got snatched by another croc for walking up to the place where the baboon just got snatched.

Notice how the crocodile trap is deadly , but mentally challenged

If you get snatched by such a trap, sometimes it's just natural selection ( no offense )

You call that "foolish" behavior. Maybe expand your vocab a bit. A million ways to act foolish, this ain't one of them.

What you know leaves what you don't know and what you don't know is all there is.
