Star Trek and Enlightenment

So I've been rewatching some Star Trek episodes from the original series in the 60;s. the one that started it all, some interesting episodes came up..

The 1st one from the 1st season called "Errand of Mercy", is where the crew and Kirk, Spock come upon a planet that is in the path of the Klingons, Kirk goes down there to warn them but they are pacifist, saying "There is no need to be concerned, nothing will happen to Us", well Kirk doesn't by it, and when the Klingons do come to take over, he stays and pretends to be one of them, in the end it shows Kirk defending the right to fight and start a war with the Klingons, the two of them are totally ideological indoctrinated and only when the beings on the planet reveal themselves in their true form (beams of Light and gifted with great powers), they prevent a war from happening btwn the Federation and Klingons, so in basic terms Kirk comes in contact with virtual Gods and lots can be learned...

trailer here..

The next episode of interest was called "This side of Paradise" in which the Kirk and crew come to a colony agriculture planet that has been out of contact for some years, they go down there and finally meet up with the colonist (a bunch of agricultural scientist) who say everything is perfect and they are completely fine, but Kirk and crew find there are no animals or insects and the planet is being bombarded by a sort of radiation, and they have to evacuate the planet, but the colonist don't want to leave, then Spock gets sapped by some spoors from a plant, loses his logic and becomes very happy and in love again with an old acquaintance he met 6yrs prior, then MCcoy gets sapped to as does the rest of the crew, its like they all are on LSD feeling high and have no cares in the world, only Kirk doesn't get sapped and finds that intense emotions like Anger or Guilt/Shame gets them back to normal, whatever normal is, in the end Spock says something interesting at the end of the episode when asked about the experience on the planet " I don't have much to say about the planet other than it was the first time in my life I was Happy"..

Its interesting to note that Spock eventually in his later years begins to drop his ideological addiction to Logic, and opens up more to Emotions and other ways of experiencing things and living life...

Yes, their normal is peaceful but totally willing to go to war, freedom but at a great cost and exploration, never being satisfied and always looking to find more of whatever it is they are looking for, there are quite a few quotes of dialogue concerning their present outlook compared to the beings on the planet who are total content and non violent, in the end they say they were like Kirk and crew millions of years prior but evolved beyond it...Its duality being presented on screen, one can choose how they want to be just by watching it lol, along with the Kung Fu series from the early 70's which brought Buddhism to popularity, it was a interesting time in TV land, compared to today's TV streaming series which for the most part is pretty horrible, except for Shogun lol...

The Psychedelics users on this forum will relate heavily with the "This Side of Paradise" episode I would imagine, other like myself, more into the Traditional ways of gaining Spiritual insight will relate more with the "Errand of Mercy" episode, as its like an everyday person meeting up it with Enlightened one and the contrast...

Interesting. Nice share.

You are a selfless LACK OF APPEARANCE, that CONSTRUCTS AN APPEARANCE. But that appearance can disappear and reappear and we call that change, we call it time, we call it space, we call it distance, we call distinctness, we call it other. But notice...this appearance, is a SELF. A SELF IS A CONSTRUCTION!!!

So if you want to know the TRUTH OF THE CONSTRUCTION. Just deconstruct the construction!!!! No point in playing these mind games!!! No point in creating needless complexity!!! The truth of what you are is a BLANK!!!! A selfless awareness....then that means there is NO OTHER, and everything you have ever perceived was JUST AN APPEARANCE, A MIRAGE, AN ILLUSION, IMAGINARY.

Everything that appears....appears out of a lack of appearance/void/no-thing, non-sense (can't be sensed because there is nothing to sense). That is what you are, and what arises...is made of that. So nonexistence, arises/creates existence. And thus everything is solved.
