Kendrick Lamar or Drake, Who won?

10 posts in this topic

Who won the battle? Also, what's your spiritual perspective on what's going on between these 2 artists

In my opinion, Kendrick put a mirror (truth) in front of Drake and showed him all his deceptions. I find it interesting that Drake kept lying on his tracks. it's like a live example of slippery Ego. Manipulating its way and denying truth.

Kendrick, and it's not even close.

I'm secretly rooting for a Drizzy revenge arc, though. The man has been on a creative downward spiral for half a decade now, which is a shame considering how good his rapping was at his peak (which I claim was genuinely top-tier, contrary to most critics who want to make it seem as if his raps have always been clearly subpar to his more R&B-oriented music).

In the meantime, here are some of what I see as career highlights, as far as his more rap-oriented music goes:

“Did you ever say Yes to a single joy? O my friends, then you said Yes to all woe as well. All things are chained and entwined together, all things are in love; if ever you wanted one moment twice, if ever you said: ‘You please me, happiness! Abide, moment!’ then you wanted everything to return!” - Friedrich Nietzsche

Drake is known for hiring ghost writers, not sure if i can trust his bars.

I don't know why he was poking K. -- he was obviously undermining his opponent and he got down bad.

I'm glad Kendrick recommended Ayahuasca for him. stripping ego from the bottom as he said. That would really helps him.

I couldn’t care less who wrote what; at the end of the day, I judge the finished work of art.

I also couldn’t care less about his ego. Drake is obviously not as conscious, saintly, or emancipatory as Kendrick - and why would you want him to be?

I listen to Drake when I just want to turn off my rational mind a little and feel like the man. That itch he scratches perfectly when he’s at his best.

KING KENDRICK BY 10000000 MILES!!!

This has been on repeat for the past week.

Drake is a culture vulture and has been stagnating for the past decade and putting out mediocre mainstream pop, while Kendrick has been pursuing mastery of the highest level and is reinventing the rap game

That one didn't do much for me.

"Meet The Grahams" on the other hand had me shaking in my seat. Such a sinister dismantling of the entire Drizzy character. Also, that Alchemist beat is some of the coldest shit I've heard in a while.

Best diss track of all time?

Yeah MTG was definitely the best song to come out of this beef. It coming out less than an hour after drakes family matters was also insane.

Not Like Us is more of a victory lap, club song that Kendrick probably made to rub it in Drakes face. I think the videos of people screaming "Trying to strike a chord, and its PROBABLY A MINOR" at parties are funny af too.
