Trump's first criminal trial has begun!

At long last, Trump's very first criminal trial began today!

This trial is the state-level Manhattan case involving Trump and Stormy Daniels, who allegedly covered up the 2016 election interference that Trump was involved. 

The jury selection for the trial already started hours ago 

 

This shouldn't have been called the "hush money" trial because this is not just about paying off a pornstar to keep quiet about Trump's sexual affair with her. The fact that this is mainly about Trump having been accused of having caused an election interference and then covered that up back in 2016 for his then presidential campaign is very serious.

That's kinda true, but it will very likely hurt him politically. A sizable number of Republican and swing voters in the country have said that they will turn on him if he is found guilty of a crime.

I mean don't get me wrong. Most Republican and conservative voters will still for Trump even if he found guilty, but it looks like there are a significant amount of them who are inclined to turn on him if he is found guilty of a crime and given how close this election will be, that could really help to swing the election to Biden.

Whether he wins or loses the trial, the game plane for both outcomes is already scripted and thought of. Millions of dollars are invested into campaign strategies for presidency in the USA.

That's a misleading statement being made from the pollsters and pundits.

Sure, it would further strengthen his support from vast majority of the Republican/conservative base, but former NIkki Hayley voters who makeup a significant amount of Republicans have said they will vote against Trump if he is convicted. Also, a significant portion of moderate an Independent will probably be even more turned off by Trump, while Democrats and liberals might be even more energized by realizing how much higher the stakes are for this election if or when they realize how much more dangerous and insane Trump is.

But at this point if you need a court to find him guilty not to vote him, you are already very blind. So blind, that manipulation could convert you to vote for Trump nevertheless. IMO, Trump voters will support him no matter what at this point, losing a court case is the deal breaker? The too much to swallow line? What about the Coup d'état lol

It surely has a lot of impact in terms of jurisprudence and politics but regarding elections, I think Trump is sneaky enough to bypass this barrier, at this point, it's foolish to think otherwise. Trump will do whatever he has to do to get into power. If he loses there's a hundred thousand dollar plan to handle this "misfortune".

Although hopefully this is the last straw that breaks the camel's back

Wild that some people seem to think that Trump's chances of winning the presidency are actually higher now than in 2020.

Biden has spent four years doing a decent enough job as president. Meanwhile, Trump has spent four years mostly getting indicted and crying on social media. And this is already after Trump lost as an incumbent.

Even if he wins this trial and it galvanizes his base, I still think he is in a losing position.

It's fairly important for Europe's future that Trump loses. So I wish you luck. It's probably my first election where I won't be hitting the liberals as hard as I usually do. Maybe I'll go get shadow banned from a few more conservative outlets, while I drop some things to fry their brains.

NB If you are on the ground, make sure to make a big deal of how a criminal is running for office, and to play on the republican sense of justice. They'll hate it.
