I just wanted to add that ChatGPT is amazing at helping you logically differentiate between different emotions.  Many diferentces are subdle but important for your emotional vocabulary.

Of course, the most accurate understanding comes from direct experience and personal contemplation, but a theoretical background helps a lot

Here are some other common ones that weren't on the list; Leo probably didn't include them because they're just too obvious to mention, but it's good to get people with alexithymia to develop a broad vocabulary to aid them with introspection and FEELING:

I didn't include ones that don't have clear Wikipedia pages.

Indeed. I just bought a footlong sub from Subway via mobile app. When I went to pick it up, I was given A 6 inch instead of a footlong. I observed the embarrassment on the employee, and that greatly reduced the anger in me. I knew that he didn’t intentionally mean to make me the wrong sub. It happens and we are all human.

Another neat way to explore emotions is to go to your favorite music streaming service and type an emotion in the search bar. There may be a playlist with amazing songs related to that emotion!

Alternatively, ask AI. For example, “Give me songs with this emotion: scared”

From my blog post #3: "Here's a list of eerily peculiar and relatable emotions i didn't even know had a name:

https://thoughtcatalog.com/brianna-wiest/2016/02/40-words-for-emotions-youve-felt-but-couldnt-explain/

[...]"

One thing I've noticed recently is just how implicit some emotions/thoughts are. Some are very obvious and take the shape of intrapersonal communication, but some are so subtle that they aren't even expressed trough words, i.e. they're more formless. They're like little jolts of implicit understanding. I can then through conscious effort explicate these emotions, but the process is tedious, crude at first and they're never actually fully explicated.

Level of consciousness by David Hawkins is a good model to see how these emotions are connected. It is not enough to understand an emotion. You have to link it.

Another great book on this topic is called emotional equations or something.  I forgot the name.

And how does forgetting about the name of that book make you feel?

Aparently  not exactly a traditional emotion but it feels like brain discomfort

I consider hunger an emotion , or very closely related

Also the " Hangry" emotion ( anger / irratibility caused by hunger )

Have a look at this to experience ASMR. Different people get it from different scenarios. I used to get it as my teacher explained technical drawing to me 1 on 1

I consider this an emotion as well.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Humiliation

!!!!!!!!!

this one is so absolutely essential. It's judgement and disaprooval taken to the extreme. It's more intense than embarrasment, shame or anxiety . If you've consistently felt this emotion during a period of your life, expect it to be a serious source of self-worth issues .

I have found it's at the core of all the self-esteem Issues I've had. Ofc there is more . Definietly worth read.
