Are most fast food chains disgusting?

In my day I worked at a burger king and after seeing the disgusting stuff behind the scenes, I'm still not eating at Burger King. I can't imagine it is different at McDonalds or stuff. Sometimes I need a snack and I do indulge. So yesterday I was at sandwich restaurant Subway and there was a fat guy working behind the counter. He was soaked in sweat. I had to wait in line and I saw him clean some disgusting stuff from the table and from the floor. And after doing that he went back behind the counter to help his college with sandwiches.... without changing his gloves. Like I couldn't imagine a more disgusting scenario: the only thing he could do to top that situation was to shit over the place. I can't even imagine the stuff happening behind the scenes. I'm just done with fast food chains I think.

Franchise owners don't really care, and seemingly the chain head offices don't care much either. 

Sometimes, high volumes in sales lead to cutting corners and not adhering to proper food preparation and safety standards. Otherwise, it is due to demotivated staff, or management who are disincentivised to follow thorough safety standards. Independent fast-food establishments can be just as bad, really.

When i was in high school i worked at Pizza Hut, it was not the restaurant version, but a home delivery and takeaway only, set up, and i was making the pizzas. 

 Yep, I have never had a pizza from there since.
