ā€žVeteran Israeli reporter Noga Tarnopolsky says Israelā€™s democratic institutions are ā€œcrumblingā€.ā€œ

Not crumbling but in an unprecedented clash between the supreme courte and the government that can lead to a constitutonal crisis and a serious danger to the liberal democracy.

In another interview she said ā€žIsrael feels like itā€™s on the brink of a civil war"

A very good video too in the way it explains the dynamics between the sides inside Israel. Not a civil war in the classic way but kind of a non-violent one.

The Shin Bet is perceived here as the guardian of democracy against Netanyahu's actions and as one of the most crucial protectors of Israeli citizens' security. Its interactions with terrorists, suspects, or other Palestinians (corruption does exist) remain largely outside the public consciousness, much like the US military's actions in Iraq are for American citizens.

@Raze Horrible.

They need the media blackout to cover for what theyā€™re doing.

When does it become genocide? Isnā€™t Gaza currently under siege being starved?

Is the West (who has the power to stop this) going to wait for Palestinians to die off slowly through malnutrition and untreated diseases?

Does it even register to them what is happening? It seems that when they do, their only way of acknowledging this is by saying whoopsie, we should have done something sooner.

You will not hear it from Al Jazeera.

Hundreds of Palestinians in Gaza are protesting against Hamas and for peace.
https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c4g71lk09npo

They have been controlled for years by extreme right-wing, worse than Ben Gvir, terrorists (Hamas), who play with their lives and receive significant international support through manipulation.

But unlike Israel who is currently fight to maintain its democracy, Gaza donā€™t have a liberal party to oppose Hamas, they are literally stuck between their extremists and Israel's extremists.

How many Palestinians from Gaza or the West Bank have you talked to about their experience?

Fatah is the ruling party of the Palestinian Authority and the party of President Mahmoud Abbas, but in Gaza, it has been significantly weakened, mismanaged, and marginalized since Hamas won elections in 2007. While some Palestinians do oppose Hamas - evidenced by protests like the one mentioned - there is no strong, organized liberal opposition within Gaza. Given the ongoing war and the lack of alternatives, it seems that a majority of the population either supports Hamas or sees them as the only viable resistance against Israel. In contrast to Israel, where internal political opposition still exists despite democratic backsliding, sadly Gaza is effectively trapped between Hamasā€™s authoritarian rule and Israelā€™s military policies.

It does not mention that the protest is specifically against Hamas or that Hamas was shooting at the protesters.

In reality, they were protesting against Hamas, and Hamas was shooting at them too.

Al Jazeera has a clear pro-Hamas bias. What is so difficult to acknowledge? They never dare to say anything negative about Hamas, ever.

Isn't it suspicious?
