I know, but what were his beliefs and positions? Was he a genocidal lunatic?

I don't know much about him either

But he was an islamist in the sense that his beliefs were Islamic beliefs

Dunno; Can't tell.

But these are the billboards in Iran right now.

Basically saying Hezbollah is alive the movement is alive and Iran won't back down by this event as it's attitude have always been like this throughout the Islamic regime.

I've seen too many billboards like this for the past months as the last president suddenly died with a helicopter crash and then the head of Hamas also got terrored in Tehran and now this.

But with the new president of Iran I don't think things will escalate much because he's not an extremist I think; but still who knows we will just have to wait and see what happens because It's not just the president having power in Iran there is also a Supreme leader and he has more power so don't know.

For months we had posters here claiming big bad Hezbollah was going to come in and take down the IDF.

Now they've had their balls blown off and their head cut off.

A few gems from Nasrallah:

Quote

In a 2000 interview with The Washington Post, Nasrallah said: "I am against any reconciliation with Israel. I do not even recognize the presence of a state that is called 'Israel.' I consider its presence both unjust and unlawful. That is why if Lebanon concludes a peace agreement with Israel and brings that accord to the Parliament our deputies will reject it; Hezbollah refuses any conciliation with Israel in principle."[47]

On 26 May 2000, after the Israeli withdrawal from south Lebanon Hassan Nassrallah said: "I tell you: this 'Israel' that owns nuclear weapons and the strongest air force in this region is more fragile than a spiderweb."[48][49]

In 2006, Nasrallah said: "There is no solution to the conflict in this region except with the disappearance of Israel."[50]

Of course it's alive. It's a huge army. It's not going anywhere. IDF has barely made a dent in it.

You don't think the events of the past few weeks have been a huge blow to Hezbollah as an organization?

IDF could bomb them for 6 months and still not kill 1/3rd of it. They are throwing darts at a hippopotamus.

@Leo Gura from what I know, he was the leader of Hezboallah for decades, he is an extreme shia.
Therefore, I am seeing sunni muslims happy for his death, and shia muslims sad for it, lol.

From what I know, his main work was focused on combatting israel, but he also hurt a lot of the Syrian civilians in the past.

But raw numbers aren't the only thing an organization is.

This is the opposite of 2006, where Hezbollah stayed on relative even footing which resulted in a huge morale boost for Hezbollah.

What do you guys think are the odds of an all out war including Syria, Iraq, and Iran?

That's far too naive a picture of how these organizations work. If it was that easy to kill terrorists then they would have stopped existing a long time ago. You're not going to bomb your way out of this situation.

Iran is the only one motivated enough to go to war, and they aren't very motivated.

Their best chance was months ago, when Hamas and Hezbollah were at full strength. Now with their proxies weakened, it is way more difficult for them. Israel is winning the war from a military standpoint.

@Leo Gura how do these organizations work then in your opinion?

I suppose they are united with a motivating goal, but leadership is still important for them to function.

For example ISIS still exist in Iraq, but are very weak and scattered, not an actual force to worry about, they still hold on to their dogmatic beliefs and try to act on them, every once in a while they would do an attack, but they lack good leadership to unite them, so nothing is coordinated or meaningful.

That's how I thought about it, I don't know.

Iran won't go to war it's just not gonna work in the Islamic regime's favour besides it has many many internal problems as well how can you go to a war without the support of your people?

People here are mostly cheering for Israel

Yes perhaps, and I do think the real head of all the resistance forces siding with Palestine is the Supreme leader of Iran so Israel's real enemy is Iran in the long run not just Islamic Jewish hostility BTW; I've heard from my university professors and on the Internet by my own little research that Persians and Jews also have hostility towards each other even before Islam they had it and it goes way more ancient kind of hostility between Iran and Israel.

Although there are some friendliness between them too in history for example the saving of the Jews by Cyrus the great the king of persia and Jews still love him for that so maybe all those hostility I've read about is just a propaganda by the Islamic regime.
