I just found out Shaykh Lokman Efendi Hz yesterday while exploring Islamic nonduality, and I see how the core essence of all religion boils down to one thing.

The history of humanity can be radically simplified by saying that ego consciousness is the result of splitting up humanity into separate individuals. This is for example mentioned in the Bible: The purpose of splitting up humanity from a unified state into separate individuals is to produce growth, development, uniqueness and novelty and the emergence of individuality. This has been absolutely necessary! But this ego consciousness has also produced loads of suffering and is a delusional state, a state of confusion. So what is needed now is to integrate humanity back into unity, while preserving the valuable development of us as individuals. Humanity has gone from the tree of life and developed through the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (duality), and now we need to return to the tree of life (nonduality/love) and bring with us all the lessons we have learned and all the development we have had in the state of duality (fear/fallen world/third density/ego consciousness).

Not sure if this helps but it's a great read...from Robert Wolfe's Ajata sunyata project: Nothingness Underneath the condition when you are awake and aware, and beneath the condition when you are in bed at night and dreaming, there is the deep-sleep condition. Here, there are no thoughts, there is no “you”, no mind, no relationships, no other, nor world, or universe. There is merely a condition of empty presence, no-thing-ness. Everything, every form, event, etc., is superimposed on this empty presence, by the mind in the waking or dreaming state. But the organism, the body, continues to exist despite these daily reoccurrence of emptiness. This condition in which there is no mind, no thoughts, no forms, and no you, is the “ground” state, your natural state. This empty presence is the condition of the organism before its birth (and its conditioning and the arising of the I-thought), and will be its condition once again upon the death of the form of “your life”. In other words, an organism appears to arise within empty presence, matures, and recedes again into empty presence (similar to the way an electron arises and recedes in the quantum field). The organism knew nothing of existence or nonexistence before birth, and will know nothing after death: “You” will not know that you— or anything else— ever had “existed”. Recognizing the fleeting temporality of “existence” – and that existence will be completely non-existent, in due course— it becomes clear that not anything that you do, think, feel or say has any lasting significance or meaning. (This is the message of the Bhagavad Gita.) All that appears, to the organism, to be done is merely a momentary expression of the field of ever-present beingness—utterly lacking in lasting reality. This is why it is said, in the nondual writings, that “nothing really matters”. It is also why it is said that (as a book about Papaji is titled) “nothing ever happened.” All that we learn in advaita is intending to point our attention to nothingness. (And not its “existence” or “nonexistence”, since where there is nothing, neither of these are applicable.) In other words, the intention of advaita, or nonduality, is to direct us to ajata. And, I would say, a thorough understanding of the former is necessary in order to comprehend the latter. When we come to recognize that, in truth, there is nothing from the start, we understand what is meant when it is said that all that we perceive is simply a dream, an illusion— seemingly superimposed on ever-lasting empty presence. Now, is this information simply an interesting “analysis”, or does this have practical value? Someone recently sent me a book by the Dalai Lama, and I’ll extract a few quotes. All phenomena are empty. Emptiness pervades not only your individual ego or sense of self, but the whole of reality…That emptiness of mind is its ultimate nature, or mode of being. To realize that, is to pierce and see through the deception of ignorance…freedom from ignorance (is called) nirvana… Realizing emptiness is directly related to our quest to purify our mind of afflictive emotions like hatred, anger, and desire…We project onto things a state of “existence”, and a mode of being which is simply not there…. This understanding of emptiness..is one of the principal factors of the true path….For such an insight cuts right through the illusion created by the mis-apprehension of grasping things and events as existing… We realize the emptiness of all phenomena, not just the mind and body of the individual. -
@Marianitozz Hey, fellow artist! Listen up. I know this will take someone who's also a creator to answer. I went through the same process back in 2017-2019. Imagine a wave for me. Will you, please? Imagine a bell curve with only one hill in the middle. At first, you practice your craft without a second thought about selfishness and selflessness. Ignorance is bliss, and therefore you compose music or do writing in my case, just for the sake of it (assuming you did.) The beauty of art flooded your veins. Your heart was on fire. Everything was fine, but then, the goddamn spirituality came. How dare it stole my sweet illusions -- only wait, don't share that glass of wine. Don't drink from it yet. The point came where you arrived at the foot of the mountain. This is where the curve becomes steep. You slowly start walking up the hill, and at the peak you may find melancholic sorrow and feel like nothing has meaning anymore. This is also where you'll feel like you're balls deep in spirituality, when in fact you're as far as you could be. As you walk up, you take on new theories and ideas, perhaps even practices, and you start morphing into what should be the right thing to do. Often these thoughts aren't truly yours, and merely reflect your surroundings. Along the journey you hear about self-actualization and nonduality, and suddenly all your actions and goals strive to reflect this seeming Golden Bull of Sicily even harder, because if they don't, they are low consciousness, trash, ordinary. You might even take on new purposes that aren't yours, perhaps you'd want to shoot videos or become a coach like Leo, because your mind is so desperate to find itself. I've seen many people here do that, and I'm only hoping they knew themselves well enough at the time. Keep walking. One day, it will click for you. It might take you three weeks, or it might take you three years as it did for me. Here's the secret: The peak of the hill is an illusory top. Real spirituality comes later when the curve begins to flatten again. You come back to where you started (don't mistake it for the band or people) -- and practice your craft for the sake of it again. Only this time accompanied by a slight smile on the corner of your face. You appreciate the journey you had to undertake, for it brought peace and authenticity. You found the inner muse again, and life regained colors. I now write poems on Instagram and plan on immersive short stories. The question that truly settled me after all those years: What am I practicing writing for? What am I channeling through it? Truth is, you could say I became a refracting glass prism. That, and only that, a vehicle for reflecting the beauty of the universe. That is my purpose as an artist. On the outside, people may see the rainbow fragments of light, but to you art became something greater along the way. It was great even when you began, only now you realize it. I'll be waiting for you, fellow artist.

Days 9 & 10 I'm now certain the effects that shamanic breathing has on me are quite peculiar and different from what 99% of people here on the forum but also out in the world go through. The last couple of days were on par with, and perhaps even more powerful than my Ayahuasca journey. I'm literally able to breathe my way out of Earth. The 'w' axis is unlike any part of the 'xyz' world. When I'm peaking and riding the afterglow, I become aware of the present. Anything that is automatically becomes true. The transparence of a human character is understood, so is language. During the peak and the afterglow phase, wild and adventurous thoughts still appear, but the perception is pure and the judgement is gone. This causes that I'm able to be and fully experience anything that is: be in a video game, visit any place on Earth, live through any age - all simply by deconstructing any form of 'other'. Nonduality is the ultimate trick up a sleeve. It literally solves everything, and can be anything it desires. Fucking heaven.

Exystem replied to deso's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@deso I'm also 22 years old, and I can feel your suffering. Self-hate or the absence of self-acceptance is the main reason for people to fuck up their lifes. The problem is that life viewed through the lense of self-hate looks way worse than it actually is. We are so young, if we use the right methods we can still enjoy most of our life. One of the most powerful methods I know to gain self-love apart from meditation-techniques etc. is to step outside your comfort zone, facing your fears and act completely opposite to what your mind wants you to do. Of course you have it quite hard because of the anxiety disorder, but don't compare yourself with others. The relative progress is the measure, and it will manifest noticably after some time. The “ya not worthy of living a good life”-thoughts often stem from the deep feeling that you don't exert yourself enough. So when you establish little habits like cold showers, workouts, starting a healthy diet,do some meditation in your life, you will build up a strong will (which can be trained similarly to a muscle), which will raise your self-esteem. Usually people identify mostly with their will and therefore with their accomplishments. So after one year, if you can look back to your life and see how you became stronger, more targeted and healthier, you can be much more optimistic towards your future and much more accepting of your past and your self/ your efforts. Realize that it is hard work to establish these habits, and do never try to built them up all at once, but rather step by step. Don't be to harsh at yourself, give yourself time. At least take a month for each little habit, after you start the next one (like first month establish cold showers, second month establish 10min stretching at the morning, 3rd month 10 mins jogging on top of it, 4th month do without sugar-drinks and so on, maintain these habits every day since establishing -> that's already a lot!!! maybe take smaller steps, everyone has a different pace, find out which speed works best for you). You will see how much accumulates within a year or two. Apart from these habits which make you become aware of your self-efficacy you can do self-love meditations, breathing consciously etc... ...And which is also more than powerful: Spread love!! To gain love, the most powerful method is to spread it! If you see yourself making people around you happy, nothing can make you more satisfied! Start with the forum, appreciate peoples comments, tell them nice things. Then step outside your comfort zone and face your fears, give people around you compliments, tell your friends/family why and how much you appreciate them, try to be grateful for the things you have but you got so used to that you didn't recognize them. When you become a love-spreader, you will realize how much worth your life is, that you can influence so many lives in a positive way, even though you may have made a lot of mistakes in the past. So if you stick to this, which is some effort but makeable if you plan it right, if you don't take on too much, you will become slowly a person which can be really satisfied with your self. You will see your positive impact on others and yourself, you will receive gratifiying feedback after some time and you will become healthier physically and mentally. Right now you may struggle to belief that you can make it. So just start with one thing, like cold showers. Every day meditate for 5 mins afterwards and be happy about yourself that you did it. You need a mindset of self-efficacy, realizing that you can change yourself, that you can change life in apositive way. Maybe add some visualization techniques on top of that. View yourself some years ahead, when you established these habits already succesfully in your life. View yourself as if you already accomplished your goals. Feel the gratitude, the satisfaction, the self-esteem of the person you want to become. But always stick to your plans! That's why you need to take step by step and take time for it, if you started cold-showering, you must continue no matter what (exept health problems of course)! Also, plan really well! write down the habits and accomplishments that make you proud of yourself. Become aware of the progress you made! You may already have some things to be proud of, embrace them! You need to build up your self-esteem and self-efficacy to become more and more satisfied with yourself. This grows your self-love which will change the past in retrospect. Once you arrive at a point where you are much more content with yourself, you will look back to the so called "wasted years" and see that it all was a necessary part of your journey. You will see that nothing was wasted, it was only your self-hating mind that twisted your perception of your past. These years were necessary to grow the discontent within yourself to make you step outside your comfort zone, to strive towards the higher truth, to explore nonduality and so on. It was a kick in the butt to wake you up. If you were happy all the time you'd never searched for more, so thanks to your suffering you turned back in order to return to god, not running blindly into samsara. So many people in this world drag other people down, trying to look better. Like holes trying to suck in every love they can. You can be different! Even though you may struggle with self-love, there are probably people you apreciate a lot, and maybe the saleswoman smiles at you and makes your day better. Tell them how you feel about them in their presence. It may be difficult in the beginning, but every little step is fine. Start with your family. Try to feel gratitude. Tell them about it. Everyone can do it, but most don't. If you do it, you will be much more self-loving. You will see what a wonderful, perfect vehicle you can be for spreading love, for making people happy! You will love yourself because you can watch yourself becoming more and more loving towards others, and this is why we all are here. When you fullfill this purpose, self-love will drown you in extasy. -
How can ACIM say that the world today is crap? Nonduality teacher Roger Castillo, who sometimes quotes ACIM, said in a recent video that he thinks that the world is both real and also mind stuff. Something like that. Roger's view is similar to mine. And I think that the world is very valuable, or from a nondual perspective equally valuable as everything else. Jordan Peterson said in a presentation that people defend their perspectives that Leo talked about, because if someone challenges their perspective that threatens their ranking in the social status hierarchy. And in the animal kingdom that means threat of survival; in society that equals to potential loss of money. The nothingness ACIM talks about is that people give different values to different perspectives. And of course, especially our own perspective, and the perspective of our group, that is most valuable of all. That's of course a fallacy when seen from a nondual perspective. That's mindless chimp stuff, no matter how "intelligent" and "successful" the person is regarded to be. ACIM may go even deeper than that in its explanation of the world, but that's at least one reason for why the world is delusional.

I researched this recently. His theory doesn't actually require a high IQ to comprehend, he just wants to make it sound like it does. If you read his writing, it is fairly obvious that he wants to seem like the smartest person in the world. I say that because his diction and sentence structure seem to be deliberately abstruse, even when conveying fairly straightforward ideas. Verifying the veracity of his voluble vexations vies for vitriol via voracious invidious vim. (That doesn't quite make sense but you get the point). That being said, a big ego isn't really unexpected from someone so gifted. The interesting thing about CTMU is that it really seems like a mathematical version of nonduality. I actually found it quite fascinating that someone so intelligent would essentially come to the same conclusions as enlightened mystics about the nature of reality, albeit from a completely different direction (math and reason vs direct experience). Even regarding evolution, Langan states the specified complexity found in observable life requires intelligent design beyond mere Darwinism. While Langan does not appear to me to be enlightened, the power of his exceptional mind brought him to eerily similar conclusions! The concept of the Human Singularity really reminded me of Leo's description of God breathing (when all duality finally re-integrates into nonduality). I think that's kind of cool, personally.

. . Here's the full 26+ minute video You know very little about Buddhism. Buddhists don't talk about God or love or a creator That is not their focus at all. The do talk about compassion What Leo talks about is different, more similar to Advaita Vedanta Two videos on Buddhism. The first on God the second on enlightenment. After that another video Worship of God in Advaita Vedanta . ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ . Worship of God in Advaita Vedanta | Swami Sarvapriyananda __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ . Below like Advaita Vedanta, Swami Mukundananda approach derives from Hinduism but is not focused on nonduality is less intellectual and lighter and is much more devotional in approach towards God. This is more similar to Bhakti yoga, two more videos in this thread >>> If you watch all of these videos you will understand more about Buddhism and variant Yoga philosophies in regard to God, GodS and enlightenment. If you get through them all, It will take a few hours I would like to hear your impressions -
Nak Khid replied to Yarco's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/out-the-darkness/201704/the-world-is-not-illusion The idea of the world as an illusion is sometimes specifically associated with Hindu Advaita Vedanta (or nonduality) philosophy, but this interpretation of Advaita stems from a similar misunderstanding. The most influential Advaita Vedanta philosopher was Sankara, who lived during the eighth and ninth centuries CE. Sankara famously made three statements (later reframed by Ramana Maharshi and others): “The universe is unreal. Brahman is real. The universe is Brahman.” If the first two statements are taken alone and out of context — as they often are — then they suggest a duality between the world and spirit: the world is an illusion, and only spirit is real. But the third statement, which is often overlooked, completely reverses this. The third statement says that the universe is spirit, and so the universe actually is real. Sankara is not literally saying that the universe is unreal, only that it doesn’t have an independent reality. It depends on brahman for its existence; it’s pervaded with brahman, and it can’t exist without it. Ramana Maharshi (pictured), perhaps the greatest Indian sage of the twentieth century, held a similar view. He explained that the world is not unreal in itself. It becomes so when we perceive it purely in terms of its appearance and only see interacting separate objects rather than an underlying spirit. That world is unreal in the same way that a dream is unreal, because it’s based on delusion. But in itself, the world is inseparable from spirit. It’s a manifestation of spirit. This is exactly what wakefulness reveals — not that the world is an illusion but that the world as we normally see it is incomplete, a partial reality. In wakefulness, the world actually becomes more real, partly in the sense that it becomes more tangibly real and alive, more vivid and powerfully there, but also in the sense that it becomes infused with spirit. In wakefulness, we realize that there’s no duality, no matter or spirit, no matter or mind. We realize that the physical world and the spiritual world are one, with no distinction. The world is gloriously infused with spirit and gloriously real. Nevertheless, the idea of the world as an illusion is appealing to many people, as it offers a way of circumventing problems. If you’re facing difficulties in your own life, and if the world itself is full of the suffering of your fellow human beings, then it’s comforting and convenient to tell yourself, “Oh well, it’s all just an illusion, so there’s no need to worry.” In other words, it offers a means of spiritual bypassing, that is, using spiritual beliefs as a way of escaping issues that need addressing. -
How to integrate material success with nonduality? High social status, academic credentials, professional expertise, business success, wealth and good reputation, are those things still valuable? What I have found in ACIM about material and social things like that is that they are all crap. And it seems that people who have those things still are miserable. One answer that came to me is that those things are important, but from relative perspectives. The problem appears when those attributes are taken as absolute possessions by individuals who believe they are separate. So it's like the rest of the ego structure, which is a high level of development but a delusional one seen from the bigger picture. So people who cling to their ego identity remain miserable no matter how much success they achieve on a material and social level.

Oh! This is curious. I discovered that when some inner peace is activated within me I can then use my conscious volition to direct my attention into the body and mind to where the inner peace should flow. That's an act of free will! Not ultimate free will because that's impossible I think, but the sense of free will is a very high level of development and should be included! And this is also a method that prevents the psychological depersonalization disorder that can happen with mindfulness practice. Because there is conscious volition by the individual self; there is the sense of control and free will. From a nondual perspective the sense of free will can be seen as a property of reality as a whole operating within the person. So it's consistent with nonduality.

Paul Hedderman said in this video from about 17 minutes that there only is what we are. That's it! There is no what you're not, he said. That's a powerful nonduality pointer. There is only existence! There is no non-existence. For example when we make a choice, that choice is, and when the choice is made, that's what is too. There is never that which was not chosen. And the choice itself, does it make a difference by itself? Was the choice a cause for changing the direction of the universe? Maybe not. I think definitely not.

Interesting ? I wonder if they accounted for 'how' the tribes people might think. Like they might think in symbols that mean larger concepts than our random thoughts. Their thoughts might be more efficient than ours. The english language seems very messy if you think about it. I always think that there must be a better ways to communicate ideas to people. Like in the movie Arrival or something...lol The problem is that what we call nonduality only occurs post-rationally or post-self awareness. So animals and humans would have to go through a progression like (pre self nondual - dual self - post self nondual) from very low consciousness states with no self-awareness to low conscious self-awareness state to high concious self-awareness state to nondual state. I think most animals are in the first 2 of these states. -
Carl-Richard replied to Nak Khid's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
What is interesting is that people living in tribal-like conditions outside modern civilization naturally experience a lesser amount of thoughts throughout the day (around 1000), but people in modern societies experience around 30000-90000 thoughts a day. You could argue their experience is less dualistic on average, but true nonduality only really occurs when thoughts are consistenly absent for an extended period of time. To be able to gauge what an animal's experience is like in this regard, we could assume that the higher the capacity you have for engaging in symbolic thought, the more dualistic your perception becomes on average, and this correlates to brain size relative to body weight. Relatively highly dualistic animals would then be things like dolphins and great apes, but more nondual animals would be things like earthworms and fish. Then the question becomes whether nonduality in animals is in some way less impressive because they have a lower capacity for duality in the first place -
Jim Newman delivers hardcore nonduality teachings, but one surprising thing is that it's not trans-conceptual awareness because he said that thoughts are still apparently happening. That's conceptual awareness. It's maybe not so surprising after all since what I have discovered is that no single spiritual teacher has the complete picture. They all have parts of the puzzle.

I've been following Leo for quite some time on youtube, but I didn't thought before to also check this website. It's a nice surprise that it also has a forum, so that I can make my ideas known and thus contribute to the advancement of science in the study of consciousness. Therefore... My work on consciousness can be found here: https://philpeople.org/profiles/cosmin-visan There is also a video there that I presented at the Science & Nonduality conference, though I highly recommend reading the papers. We can discuss here various topics that you find interesting from my work, or you can open individual topics. The main ideas that I think I bring new is the idea that consciousness is structured on a holarchy of emergent levels and the idea that this is done by an entity that I call self-reference. For example, in the visual domain this would be the qualia of: black-and-white -> shades-of-gray -> colors -> shapes -> objects -> full visual scene. The characteristic of the emergent structure of consciousness being that each level includes and transcends the previous level. This can be explored in "The Emergent Structure of Consciousness" paper. Then, in "The Self-Referential Aspect of Consciousness" I show how this structure is obtained by self-reference, which is an entity with the property of looking-back-at-itself. By looking-back-at-itself, self-reference includes and transcends its previous self. Because of this property, self-reference is unformalizable. Also, this means that it is no-thing and every-thing, both at the same time. And this also leads to what Leo is teaching that I am God. Because of its unformalizable nature, self-reference is not a thing, but at the same time, it also generates and is all the things, all qualia, so all consciousnesses are forms of manifestation of self-reference, self-reference which can be taken to be God. In the other papers, I apply these ideas to all sorts of cases, like in "The Quale of Time" I show how time is also a quale part of the emergent structure of consciousness, and in "On the Phenomenon of Unification" I show how the dynamics of self-reference is responsible for the unification of consciousnesses (like what happens with the 2 "brain" hemispheres) and for telepathy (which I postulate to be a case of consciousnesses unification). You can also buy my book, to help me financially, though the book is formed from my papers put together, so you can just read the papers. I will gladly like to know what you think about my ideas and it would be nice if together we can help push forward the advancement of science such as to make consciousness its primary field of study.

He is quite clear that it's atrocious (hilarious) lies, that teaching nonduality is impossible, there are no true teachings on nonduality, just pointing you to the truth of no truth/no lies, no duality between the two. Ironically his teaching is very deep and clear. Ironically again, the clearest teachings can be very susceptible to being misunderstood. The pitfall with teachings like Jim's is that it seems to be easy to seek security in them, not realizing that security is being grabbed or owned by something. That's no reflection on the teaching, which I personally think is one of the most brilliant ones out there. Each teaching has certain pitfalls. Leo acknowledges the seeker and the notion of levels of advancement, hierarchies and places to get. But if you make the mistake of saying or assuming that a teaching that denies levels is a HIGHER teaching than one that does not, you yourself are the one who gave reality and meaning to there being levels of realization. Opps. It's a tricky game. No winners, no losers, no teachers, no students and there aren't even quitters. It's so damn boring it's absolutely fascinating. -
Dumuzzi replied to Dumuzzi's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
I wrote about this elsewhere, but in terms of the merging of dualities, there are very specific energetic principles that intermingle within the body. These need to be balanced out and merged to put one on the path towards ascension. Unbalanced energies can wreak havoc in the body. Masculine and feminine aren't about male and female, we are talking about cosmic principles here, which also manifest in the microcosm of the body, as above, so below. The dualities as they appear in the body and in human life in general are as follows: Pingala Nadi, Masculine, Right, Solar, Hot Ida Nadi Feminine, Left, Lunar, Cool Sushumna: the centre, a synthesis of the two above principles When a human raises their serpent power, it will rise in one of the above three channels. Sushumna is the correct one, debilitating symptoms can arise if a person is unbalanced and leans too much in either direction. When one does energy healing, balancing out Masculine and Feminine energies within the body is a crucial step, very often that imbalance is the cause of disease, including in some cases mental illness. It is well known that an unbalanced Kundalini, if activated prematurely can lead to various forms of mental illness. Regarding the duality of Purusha (Spirit) and Prakriti (Matter): Prakriti is a form of Shakti, it is the feminine principle made manifest. The power by which Purusha creates Prakriti is through Shakti. Shakti is the Goddess part of the duality of individuated and personalised Brahman. She is present on all levels of creation, be it universal (Prakriti), personal (the Great Goddess or Mahadevi) or local (Kundalini Shakti). The crucial insight to realize is that these are all forms that only appear separate and different. We see them as different from our point of view, but to Her, all of Her forms are equally important and relevant, she can appear and talk to us in any of them, based on her own preference and our individual need. You cannot raise yourself up, without realising the Shakti in you and becoming one with her. When you raise her up, once the last knot is pierced and she reaches the crown, the space above the head, which is heaven, this is where Shiva resides and the two merge together or reunite, to achieve nonduality. Godhood/ascension requires a merging of dualities and existing in a permanent non-dual state. The power that can be accessed by the merging of dualities is truly awesome, the best comparison in our physical world is matter-antimatter annihilation. A nondual existence is also a non-material one, it is beyond, time, space and dimensions, therefore linear time and space completely lose their significance. A god is basically an ascended being, which is why the list of gods and ascended masters, both in theosophy and other spiritual traditions, significantly overlap. The difference is in our mind, because we have a great deal of trouble understanding extradimensional, non-linear, non-dualistic existence. The white light that flashes when dualities are extinguished is all we can see with our dualistic senses, but there is a whole world, a whole universe out there, that is non-dual and it is subject to completely different laws and rules than our own, material realm. -

Go watch Leo's video on the Ox. Nonduality will go full circle. You realize all is an illusion, then integrate back in to the illusion and enjoy it. You created all this for a reason; to experience it.

I'm seeking some perspectives on how to transcend stage Yellow if your personality is biased towards individuality. As a kid, I worshipped stage Red in the form of heroes like Superman and King Arthur, but my military family was die-hard stage Blue at the time, and I was largely indoctrinated into this for much of my childhood. Strong streaks of independence, intellectualism, skepticism, and rebelliousness have always been part of me, though, and after I left home and started college, I consciously left Blue behind for a rationalist, scientific, atheist perspective. STEM and Ayn Rand and psychology 101 and Kant and others put me in Orange territory, where I remained until a couple years ago. This transition was "easy" in a way because it appealed to individualist aspects of my personality that originated in my worship of Red as a young child, and because I understood Blue so well, it was easy to leave it behind in the transition back to an individual perspective of competitiveness, meritocracy, and materialism. Then I went to business school for my MBA, which ironically wasn't full of Orange people but full of Green people. Intense Green was everywhere, and I was forced to confront it for two years. I was pulled along kicking and screaming--the collective/emotional view was hard to accept, especially given my personal biases. But something kind of strange happened. I never "was" Green. As I finally came to understand Green, I became Yellow. It was as if the lack of understanding Green was holding me back from a transition I had already been pushing towards, and once resolved, Yellow became obvious. I saw the nuance. I saw the integrated systems functioning together. I realized that perspective was crucial to the big-picture. Yellow's more impersonal big-picture understanding is so natural to me, and yet still grounded in some degree of individuality while embodying growth and learning for its own sake. Having now discovered Spiral Dynamics and nonduality, I question how to continue my growth. Turquoise people are rare indeed, so it's hard to surround yourself with them. Combined with my personal difficulty of truly identifying with a collective perspective, I feel this level will be much harder to achieve FOR ME. I continue to pursue enlightenment itself, though I think that will take time and effort over months or years to make meaningful progress towards. I wonder if, similar to Green, understanding Turquoise could eventually facilitate a transition to Coral if I can achieve awakening/liberation in the process. I would love to hear your thoughts.

Same for me... I'm at Diamond Heart Book 5 now and every chapter changes something deeply for me. So many good books he wrote. There is nobody I know with so much complexity, precision and depth. I love this guy. I think it has largely to do with his logos being so challengingly big. Only after getting through quite a few books of his is the impact starting to reveal itself. There are these discussions between Rupert Spira and Almaas on YouTube (from Science and Nonduality), you know those? Almost nobody there understands what he's pointing to. Took me a while to understand his points, and they come from yeeeears of deep digging. I think that's why he's not so easily accessible. Requires a lot of studying.

justfortoday replied to ivankiss's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
First, I think noetically your post is really beautiful. Now, do you realize you are actually God incarnate? The moment you are experiencing right now is the only moment there is. That is my thing about prayer. Prayer is ultimately self-reflection and projection. I have had my share of awakening experiences and it has always felt as I realize my entire experience has been a NOW generated by the previous now. That is why if you believe in nonduality, the radical implication is that you are God "simulating" or "living" your life, because your life has to exist in infinity. In other words, there are no others. Everyone else is an echo of you.
