  1. @Inliytened1 You might want to apply your advice (hopes) first. I'm not a materialist my friend. I'm a skeptical, and the best thing I could ground myself in yet is agnosticism. I'm comfortable with not-knowing. I'm not sure why many of you aren't. The things I was saying are not mine to be honest. They're yours and Leo's.
  2. @Inliytened1 It was you all along. No ego, no God. Since they're the same thing. You. And everything you said is just a story of your imagination. Nothing less, nothing more.
  3. @Leo Gura I disagree. Suffering cannot prevent death, so it's not created to ensure survival. No matter how much I suffer, I can't escape the inevitable. Perhaps it's just a part of the plan, nothing more, nothing less, no meaning, no value. Then again, perhaps not.
  4. You can use certain mantras to silence the mind. It's a very effective method. Keep repeating the same word (out loud, or in your mind), your mind will start numbing down and you will experience peace eventually.
  5. Why death occurs then? That means all the suffering was for nothing.
  6. I'm sorry. Him? I'm not. Are you? Perhaps I should come near you
  7. Start ranting and Santa will show up
  8. @1liamo78 Reincarnation is originally a Hindu and a Buddhist belief. There was no world population back then. To me, it seems so silly. Nevertheless, that's not what is meant by reincarnation. You're treating the "soul" that is being reincarnated as a separate entity, while in their paradigm it's one and it's everywhere and everyone all at the same time. Which honestly, to me, is even more silly. But who knows? I could be wrong.
  9. It will be alright.
  10. @mmKay I'm following your journal, it seems interesting. In my experience, life will throw a bunch of challenges in your way, you don't even have to worry about that, lol. Your job is not to chase challenges, but to simply accept them with open arms. If you feel the urge to do something, then by all means do it. Trust your intuition. You might want to start relationships, I assume you've been alone for a long time. Relationships can be a challenge, and they can help you to change if you want that. Also, changing your lifestyle can change you in very radical ways. I guess you felt that a couple of times as you mentioned big changes in your story. I just can't stress how powerful that change in the outside can affect the inside.
  11. Lose that spiritual identity! Throw it in the trash! What do you want Mandy? Seriously, ask yourself: what do I want? I'm pretty sure the answer is: I want to feel good. Your spiritual identity is blocking you from feeling good. Why do you want to be spiritual? Whatever makes you feel bad is an illusion.
  12. That is not thinking, and not survival ??
  13. Where does thinking occur?
  14. @DrewNows Thank you! Although I don't know what you mean by "groundless" here. ..... Midday here, haven't studied a word yet. Today was so busy at work. I feel tired but I have to go on.
  15. I ask myself the same question all the time. No convincing answers yet. Not even Leo's.
  16. New day begins. Good progress yesterday, but not good enough. I need some time to build my momentum. I'm starting to see the joy in leaving old behaviours, whatever they are, no matter how enjoyable they are. "New is always better" -- Barney Stinson
  17. @mmKay I enjoyed reading your story. Much of it resonates. I think what is crucial for you at this point is to realise that you are overthinking, and that your thoughts are meaningless. I mean I know you know that already, but do you actually embody it? Embodiment in this case means to stop judging your behaviour of slacking off and just be cool with it. I know this sounds the opposite of what you think you should do, but have you ever let go of the desire to change? Have you ever stopped imagining a great future? If not, then I think you probably haven't found your authentic self yet. Your shadow is probably preventing you from meeting your authentic self. Have you done shadow work? Life is all good and beautiful when you lose meaning and value, because you stop thinking and start experiencing, being in the present moment. Ultimately, I think you will have to find a job that doesn't bore you, probably start with a job that is easy and simple, and from there on, you let life guide you. mmkay, it's all Okay
  18. @Peter124 But how is that any different from the two kinds you mentioned? Your views are also based on beliefs, so what makes you think that this is a better/superior approach? I'm sorry if that's not what you said, it's kind of hard to guess what you mean. Why do we dogmatize spirituality? Because we're human beings and we are ideological by nature.
  19. @GabeN Perhaps the goals you set for yourself were not authentic/genuine. Dive deeper, and find out. Know what you truly want, because what you want is what you need.
  20. Ego does not exist, it's your imagination.
  21. @EternalForest Among wolves be a wolf. Among chickens be a chicken. Plus, don't judge means indulge. You have a great opportunity to become enlightened through these circumstances. It's challenging, I know. But it's rewarding as well. If you can live happily with this, well, congratulations! That's enlightenment.
  22. Then don't listen to ego Listen to now, and listen to truth ❤️
  23. As simple as it sounds. When you know yourself, you will know others. (post not directed at anyone per se)
  24. @now is forever You told me that we're forever
  25. @Cody_Atzori It's fine unless you're multi-tasking it with something else (like you did as in writing this post). It's fine unless you want to quit it and enjoy being without flavours, control, or manipulation. It's fine unless it's distracting you from doing the things you want/need to be doing. -My rules-
