@Joseph Maynor @Bill W Thank you for the insights! I think there is a balance that the moderators are aiming for. I think each one of us is doing their best to maintain a healthy environment for everyone. We want both heart and mind. We just can't expect changes to come immediately, because change requires time. @Moreira Hopefully that will change. @Odysseus Old users usually forget to use the search feature. New users probably don't know about it. I think we need to find a way to remind all of us of that feature, because it's very helpful. @ajasatya Oh, I love this: @electroBeam I see what you mean. But this forum isn't just about enlightenment. It's about Self-Actualization which is way broader than just enlightenment. Plus, the sub-forum "Meditation, Consciousness, Enlightenment, Spirituality" is basically a theoretical framework for research, it's not where enlightenment should happen. Enlightenment is very important, but it's not everything there is to personal development. Leo, as far as my knowledge goes, is the only teacher out there who integrates all of that stuff. That's why I think Actualized.org is the single best place for a human being to be.

Truth Addict replied to Neorez's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Neorez I wouldn't say direct experience is everything. But I would say that the present moment is everything. Direct experience has an opposite which is belief, and they're somehow one and the same. Faith is what makes them true. The present moment has no opposite, and therefore is Absolute. -
Truth Addict replied to KMB4222's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@KMB4222 That's very nice! I haven't had that moment of unshakeable clarity yet, but I resonate with most of the things you said. They're just clear to me without even trying. Of course, it was hard to get there. But once you get there, you get there! -
@Dan502 I just did check it out, and I agree but not quite much. Then again, it's just me. If you find it potentially useful, then who am I to say otherwise? @Inliytened1 I'm not sure. But I'm sure it'll be great to get there, whether we still need moderation or not. _____ Okay, thanks everyone for contributing. I think Leo, moderators, me, and other members have made great and useful comments about this topic. There may be still a room for more perspectives but I am personally satisfied with everyone's responses. If any of the mods wants to lock this thread, I don't mind that a single bit. I think it would be a distraction for everyone to discuss this subject even more. Thank you ❤️

@Joseph Maynor We're all somehow leaders ??❤️ @Odysseus Thanks for sharing your perspective. @Inliytened1 And we certainly will! ??❤️ @outlandish FoxFoxFox did create a thread mentioning two examples of unjustly locked threads. His thread got locked without responding to his requests. Is it not enough for the poster to post their thread to make it worth keeping and even answering? I agree on the second point. This place should remain a healthy environment for all. Some threads can cause harm and should be locked, deleted, banned, etc... Leo, you, and other moderators are doing a great job. I only have love and respect for all of you. I'm just contributing with what I hope can help make this forum a better place. It is both a big deal and not a big deal at the same time. It depends on how you look at it. To me as a member of a society, it is a big deal. To me as an individual, it isn't.

I didn't know. I used to believe in everything my parents told me, and everything was magical. Magic is a lie. That's why it's called magic. Truth is magical too, that's a sweet paradox.
-
That's only true from the parents perspective. From the child's perspective though, fake love is great, that's why Santa exists. It's a sweet lie. It's not about Leo or me or anyone else. Leo himself does not want people to focus on him, he says that he's just an ordinary person all the time. Actualized.org forum is a society, I am interested in making it a better society for all, as we all are, I assume. It can get to even more advanced places in the future, possibly can turn into a real society, I would personally be so much honoured to be a member of such community. I want to help build it too. I like your new way of communicating ideas ? @DrewNows ?? Don't worry, don't rush. Everything will come and it will be perfect when it's time. Then I guess it's best to keep it running? You're contributing to this as well ? Fortunately, we're not in the dark ages anymore. We have the luxury of free speech.
-
@DrewNows Let's have you banned ? I consider you a friend and treat you accordingly. We have a history here.
-
@DrewNows You are definitely talking out of your ass! I didn't even remotely hint at that. Please stop assuming things about me. I am not outbursting.

Truth Addict replied to Dylan Page's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Dylan Page Science is not only good. It's great. I love science and I appreciate the efforts that people had put throughout history to deliver it to us. Blood had literally been spilled for us to enjoy the benefits of science today. It isn't the truth. Of course, as everything else. Instead of trying to convince your friends that science is not the truth, try to undermine their need to consider it truth. Perhaps Actualized.org is the one of the greatest tools for that. Try to introduce more relativity and doubt to the foundations of science. That can certainly deconstruct the belief that science is the answer. -

I'd say it's half blue, quarter orange, quarter green. As for the thinkers, they're yellow and therefore very rare. -

Better performance and better experience of life in general. Without meditation my life would be hell. -
Don't get triggered. I only said that because I didn't want my suggestion to sound strong. I apologise for that. Please read the edit in my previous post if you haven't.
-
@Key Elements Again, what's the point in saying that? Is it about proving that you have experience? I didn't even remotely challenge that. Or is it about proving that I lack experience? Which I have clearly stated earlier. Back to our main topic: how do you think that locking threads will help more than cause damage? Here's a suggestion: instead of locking threads, PM the poster and gently clarify for them where they have gone wrong. They might take it less personally and remove the threads by themselves if that was hinted. In other words, create friends out of the members instead of creating enemies. Of course, you're free to reject my suggestion. I'd like to say also that locking threads subtly undermines the ability of all other members to determine what is beneficial for them and what is not, which is somehow disrespectful. Many times, certain members/mods (you're included) added to silly topics (imo) and made them very useful to me.

@Key Elements I'm in 4th grade medical school. I have devoted my life to help others in every way I can. What's the point of your post? I honestly don't get it. Locking their threads is not the answer either.
-
@Jed Vassallo Really?! What if the host is very open-minded to other perspectives? What if they welcome other opinions? What if they are humble enough to accept other worldviews? You see? Honestly, we're lucky this place is Leo's not yours.
-
@Omni I would like you to reflect on the value of your post, and maybe post your own opinion of it objectively. @Pallero Thank you, these are some great suggestions. @DrewNows If there is not enough information, then judgements should be postponed by all of us. Or at least assume good intentions until proven otherwise. @Key Elements Mental illnesses are a very distinct thing. The posters don't know that they're ill. It can be good to gently point them to seek professional help if we suspect a serious problem. However, I was speaking for both mentally ill people and currently awakening people. And no, I haven't tried to help anyone with a severe mental illness, but I can only assume we're all different and unique and no two people has to be the same.
-
I agree. People need special care during awakenings. Emotions tend to get really unstable when huge paradigm shifts occur. We don't need a absolute certainty here. In my opinion, assumptions can be enough. I personally can assume with a success rate of 70-80% the place someone is coming from and respond accordingly. Some cases are pretty much obvious. Because I care for other people. Imagine someone with suicidal thoughts getting rejected and repressed even here. These are some great suggestions. I second them. Thank you.
-
@Pacific Sage I think it's because people forget about death and somehow unconsciously believe in immortality. I'm saying this because I know from my own experience. If I was immortal, I would have been the most selfish motherfucker there is. But since I'm not, then I prefer happiness in the present moment, which people tend to forget on their way to accomplish a delusional immortality. Most of the time, suffering equals survival, that's why.
-
@Leo Gura More compassion does no harm.
-
Yes, for the average person. But some people can be mentally unstable. I think those can be an exception, and should be treated more gently. Some cases can be easy to spot and some can be hard to.
-
@Jed Vassallo We're not "fighting". We're just contributing with our voices, just like you did.
-
@Leo Gura Of course you know better than I do. I have no experience in moderating. I was just giving an opinion because I noticed more excessiveness lately. Still, real-life school rules cannot be applied online mainly because here there is no fixed system that anyone is required to follow. I really appreciate everything you do. I hope sometime in the future you will create a real-life society and a real-life spiritual school ?
-
@Leo Gura Could you please elaborate on the low quality thing? Because I think even the most developed of us can find value in anything they read. I think if a thread doesn't contradict the guidelines of the forum, then it should be allowed.
