Truth Addict replied to bmcnicho's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
I don't even know what that means. I'm talking about religious debates in general, or basically any kind of debate. -
Truth Addict replied to DrewNows's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@DrewNows I like this. It goes hand in hand with this: Yeah, the trick is to go all the way. Most people question very superficially without diving deep. -

@bmcnicho I'm not a fan of locking threads. If I find something worth reading, I read it. If not, I ignore it. It's just that simple. On the other hand, most religious topics are controversial and can easily trigger the ego. Therefore, I think it's better to discuss religion only at tier two of Spiral Dynamics. I'm not saying that I agree with Leo's decision. I personally prefer letting thoughts run their course, and cause suffering, and then that suffering will create the desire for Truth. I'm just saying that it should be pointed out that most religious debates are mental masturbation and ego games as reminder. I believe that for extroverted people discussions help to raise awareness, and perhaps even create mystical experiences (as some members stated many times). And that for introverted people, alone inquiries are the best. That's why I think that almost no threads should be locked. @Inliytened1 Am I right with the bold statements? -
Then you should have known that every single chapter 'sura' starts in the name of Allah, the most beneficent, the most merciful. What is that but love?

@Matt8800 The body produces 5-MeO-DMT naturally from the pineal gland. Some practices, such as dark room retreats, can alter its production. Becoming a unicorn is much more complex. LOL. @Devansh Saharan Thanks for sharing ? I think Sadhguru does not know what he's talking about. The Buddha had become enlightened under a tree (chemicals in the air). Moses had become enlightened when he went to the burning bush (smoking unintentionally, probably ayahuasca). What we must understand is that we are not separate from our environment. So, the "chemicals" argument becomes very silly, because we're being exposed to chemicals all the time (including food and water).

Truth Addict replied to Pacific Sage's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Pacific Sage Some people are skeptics, and others are believers. It works both ways, because we are one. And actually, skepticism goes full circle to become faith. While also, as reality crushes beliefs, believers start becoming skeptical. Just like @SoonHei said. -

I like this ? More complexity implies more capabilities and possibilities. -
I prefer one task at a time. Multi-tasking destroys focus in both the short and long terms. And to cover this from another angle, getting absorbed in the activity, whatever it is, is way more enjoyable. So, in short: concentration is more productive and more entertaining. You can't carry two watermelons with one hand.

Precisely because we can speak about it is the reason why we're where we are. That's what happens when you try to communicate higher truths with low consciousness people. There is a gap in understanding. So, they think they understand what's being said, and they distort the truth and act like they understand it. It requires a lot of metaphysical understanding, which in turn requires a lot of consciousness work, before someone can understand that thoughts are not the truth. Imagine we can only communicate through chemical reactions for example. Chemistry does not lie. And therefore, the possibility of misunderstanding becomes obsolete. That's how most other creatures are. They don't lie to each other. -

@Pacific Sage I think it does. Blind faith helps shutting down the monkey mind. Blind faith helps in finding peace and then surrendering. Mantras are a practical use of the Law of Attraction. -

@Anna1 I was agreeing with you. -

@Anna1 Once you have eaten from the tree, you have become cursed. And now you will always remain its captive until you shit whatever you've eaten ? (I made some edits in my previous posts). -

@Anna1 I never "accused" you in specific of overthinking ? The ultimate teaching is no-teaching. By the way, if you don't think that you're overthinking, then you're probably overthinking. When you really don't overthink, you know it, you don't guess. -
@DrewNows That's the ultimate truth regarding happiness. Perhaps "luck" is not the right word. Maybe I should have used the word "bless". If you want happiness, stop searching for it. You're already out of luck!

@Anna1 And how is overthinking going to solve that problem exactly? I think it only makes it worse. P.S. I had no idea I was talking Neo-Advaita until you mentioned it. You see how simple it is? It requires no knowledge. -

You guys just like to overthink and then get lost in the labyrinths of the mind. (Did you know?) -
You have no idea how his life situation actually is, and neither do I. But please respect that. I take your comment as an insight you got lately, or something you're struggling with. @Peter124 Hang in there. I know how hard it is, but it will inevitably pass. I find meditation to be the best way to find inner peace and stillness. From there, I ground myself, think, and act. Everything becomes much easier and clearer when you're in the flow of the moment. The point is, meditate as much as possible (out in nature if possible). To me, my journey wasn't about expressing my thoughts or living a certain lifestyle. Actually, when I dropped that, my life got way better. Also, try to work on building a foundation for a good future, baby-step it, no need for rushing. Learn a skill, develop a hobby, possibly an art, maybe find some job. Psychedelics are a red line for you right now. Forget about them completely for now. Of course, these are all just my ideas and suggestions. I don't actually know what your life situation is like. Use your own wisdom. Best of luck!

I would like to add that the only requirement for happiness is good luck. If you're happy, then that's just because you're lucky. Nothing more. Because you can't force happiness.
-
@LoveandPurpose It's a tricky question. Because once you think of something as a requirement for happiness, you set up a condition. And once you set up a condition, you won't be truly happy. The trick is to drop all conditions, including the latter. That's how happiness works. By happiness here, I mean peace of mind. Not necessarily some ecstatic state. @ajasatya Are you talking about the minimum requirements for staying alive? Because in my experience, happiness is not dependent on any of them. I once felt ecstasy merely from standing in the cold and rain for 7 hours straight, it was awesome! Of course, acceptance implied. ???

@fortifyacacia3 I was going to reply, but I honestly didn't understand your question very well.

Truth Addict replied to Jacobsrw's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Jacobsrw I would say it works both ways. And in your case, it was like focusing on not thinking of an elephant. Anyway, I agree with what you said, but I also think you have become intensely aware because it was a new method that you've never tried before. The mind haven't created tolerance for it yet. @Nahm I wasn't kidding, but I'm glad it made you laugh ? -
@montecristo I think you have the answers, and you just need to ask yourself some questions: What do you want in life? How do you want your life to be? What are your highest values? How is a certain hierarchy going to affect your life? I wouldn't focus tooo much on the pros and cons. I would care more about the fundamental things, like health, happiness, and being able to make a decent life. To me, all the other stuff are a bonus.
