Something magical and delightful that was created for me to experience and enjoy. Of course, these thoughts don't necessarily appear while watching, but you can use them as means to arrive there. There are two ways for silencing the mind: Carefully observing them and questioning them to death. Meditation/self-inquiry/contemplation are great for that purpose. This will lead to a painful ego death for most people, for me it was a pleasant and freeing process, accompanied with a practical life failure. I have no experience with psychedelics, but they say they're better than all of the above. Replacing negative thoughts with positive thoughts and believing them. This is known as the Law of Attraction, or traditionally as prayer. A practical use of those methods is the positive affirmations method. Eventually, and after months of practising, the positive thoughts will sink into the subconscious mind and become as evident and clear as the negative ones you're experiencing right now. In my experience, both ways are legit and will lead you to the same place, and that is peace of mind, which will develop into happiness and then total bliss. It's really simple, all you have to lose is your 'self'.

@Truthority I couldn't read your whole post. If you want me to read, then you need to be more brief, or you need to have an interesting style that could keep me going. That's my feedback for you. I'll just answer your main question: Arguing is a tool that you can use to convince others of your ideas, so that you can work together towards the same goals. It's an act of teaching, not learning. Teaching is an act of talking and arguing. Learning is an act of listening and working. For you to develop yourself, you would have to be a student, so you'd have to stop arguing and listen to what others have to say with an open mind. Of course, all arguments are untenable as Leo explained in one of his videos. He taught that arguing is pointless using his own arguments. If there is a lesson to learn from that, it would be that you're free to argue for your own specific agendas, and you wouldn't be wrong because arguing is relative to your goals. For Self-Actualization purposes, arguing is not very powerful, since it's mostly about learning. So, you're here on Leo's forum trying to teach him. He might listen and learn from you, I believe he does, but he probably will not admit it, since he has to maintain his teacher identity. There's not a single teacher that likes to get argued against by his or her students. Arguing destroys all the grounds that you can use to stand on as a teacher. But for you to operate as a teacher (identity), you need to ground yourself in something, whatever that is. Without that ground, who will ever listen to you? How are you going to survive without people listening to you and buying your wisdom? You see? Survival is highly intelligent, and so are Leo all other teachers and gurus. Leo is the coolest guru though! He's so knowledgeable, open-minded, modern, and down-to-earth. He makes mistakes and admits them, he's after all just a human being like the rest of us. Being a teacher does not mean infallibility, it rather means that the students should support their teacher and correct them with love and respect. Dropping a teacher's agenda? You're simply asking for too much.

The mistake here is that you say that the past exists only in the now, but you still imagine a past that exists outside of the now. Will you just collapse this duality already?

@tatsumaru Science is magic happening at will. Scientists/magicians used to keep it a secret to dominate people and convince them that they have superpowers. Imagine going back in time one thousand years, a phone would be complete magic and a superpower that people would think you're God. I think magic is the science that is some years ahead of mainstream science in any given society. The other kind of magic that you're talking about I believe is possible, but not at will, at least not up until now and not in our current state of consciousness.

I never took a psychedelic ever in my life, and I recall that you took some. I see love and you don't. So, rest sure that psychedelics are not the reason why we're "just a bunch of hippies" and you're not ?? That's a silly argument. Love is also everyone's experience at all times. One can be unconscious of awareness just as much as they can be unconscious of consciousness. But anyway, we're not trying to convince you, we're just telling you the truth, and it is love. Love is ever present and is given to everyone, including you. You just happen to filter it out and refuse to take it.

The truth is that both of the past and future exist, not merely as thoughts, but as Reality. You simply happen to not be conscious of them from your current state of consciousness, because it is limited (me too).

@tatsumaru Magic, in the traditional use of the word, is just what we call science today. The reason why it was called magic is because science was kept in the hands of the elite, and the ordinary people didn't have the opportunity to learn it. Science is magic, no matter how much we try to rationalise it. There's no reason really for anything, it's just pure magic! If you're asking: is anything possible? Then the answer is: yes, but not necessarily from this state of consciousness.

Create some vague, yet positive reasons, like chemistry, or that she's the one, or something like that. This will make her curious and will satisfy her psychological needs. If she asks for specifics, then you have to compliment something she really cares about. For example, if she follows fashion and clothes, then tell her that she has a unique taste of colours or something else related to that. If she likes drawing, then tell her that she has a great talent, and so forth. Your compliments must be genuine and authentic of course. Otherwise, you probably don't like her.

The short answer is because we have wrong maps for the territory. Resistance exists precisely because of this: Because there is balance. Human beings want to grow on a faster pace than reality. We're like cancer, growing at all costs. So, resistance is the brakes that stop this cancer from skewing the balance and destroying the whole design. (which I believe will not be enough at some point, and destruction will eventually become true). A flower does not even desire growth. It has no maps. If death it is, then the flower just accepts, and moves on. It's not only flow and growth. It's also resistance and death. Endless cycles of life and death, growth and degradation, etc... of all other dualities. The devil advocates one part of a duality over the other, that's his trick.

Deep breathing and shamanic breathing are great for relaxing the mind. But eventually you will have to let down your defences and agree to God's terms without fear or resistance. Just take the leap. There's nothing to fear.
