  1. May I ask how you know that?
  2. Not talking from experience or actual chemical knowledge, but when doing extensive research on 5-Meo, I found many people (even well experienced facilitators) say that there is no difference in the effect of bufotenin vs. synthetic. Bufotenin will get you 5-Meo, synthetic will give you 5-Meo and should the dose be right, you get a full blown non-dual experience out of both. Where is your claim coming from that they are "completely different drugs"?
  3. Did you eat all of the mushrooms or did you brew a tea or something like that? I get instant digestion problems and nausea eating even 2 or 3 grams. Can't imagine how bad it became on 20+. Also can you draw a comparison to a "normal" (1-6g) shroom trip? I can imagine the point where you have to let go comes quite quickly during the come up.
  4. Read this yesterday, it's a nice sum up. Shortly before that I finished "Entheogenic Liberation" by Martin Ball which I find is exactly what this article is doing just in a much more detailed way. Definitely a must read book for everyone working with 5-MeO or any other entheogen. Moreover, I like Martin's no-bullshit view of non-duality, cuts through a lot of crap. The article by "The Conclave" is still a good practical guide though.
  5. It's more about finding the lowest dose needed for complete ego dissolution no? I heard now quite often that the gap between that point and a white-out is quite small.
  6. In self-inquiry, you really ask yourself who it is that is being aware. When you try to be aware of consciousness, who/what is trying? It's not necessarily active although it definitely starts out as that. It's also not a mental thing although it normally starts out as that. It's a direct approach to come to the bottom of WHAT YOU ARE. As soon as you have an answer in your head or a feeling which you think is it, ask yourself who/what is feeling/thinking this? It's a very very tricky process and you can dive seemingly infinitely deep. In the beginning, it's seeing what you are not. If you then look at what is left, you can passively just rest as that. I recommend Rupert Spira's or Adyashanti's guided meditations on that if you want an experiential understanding. This has nothing to do with just being mindful of all phenomena happening. You're looking behind the curtain, wheras in mindfulness meditation you just sharpen your ability to distinguish phenomena, perceive details in perception and develop equanimity. All this can help in self-inquiry but it is not self-inquiry.
  7. @Ryan_047 Totally feel you, I also have a hard time with that. It's like this inner conflict of wanting to help but not knowing how. Because we came here by ourselves and only through working from the surface to the bottom are we in a place where we can talk about stuff like enlightenment/non-duality in a non-bullshit manner. So it's not only about how to "win others over" for me, but also that I find myself in situations where I just don't know how to communicate. "Why are you meditating?" I would have to lie or say that it's just too complicated or something when someone asks me who is not into this kind of work. That's just an example. I guess it's really hopeless in most cases, but if you love someone, I can imagine it could be worth fighting.
  8. @MarkusSweden It's crazy reading this right now... Had my first DMT encounter yesterday (smoked Changa, quite a lot of it) and I came to so many points of trying to let go, but as soon as I was just being, a milisecond later my ego would come in and say: "No, that's not it, that's ego." I couldn't really tell if I ever let go completely in this experience cause there was so much judgement and I also saw that underneath that was so much fear of death... much more than I consciously could ever see. (If I'm not sure if I let go completely, I probably didn't.) This brought me to a place of dispair because I saw that even if I realized the truth, my ego would ALWAYS say, "that's not it yet". That's why they say the truth is actually staring you right in the face I guess. But how could one say to realize truth if ego comes back? There are so many traps it's intimidating to see this directly. No matter how much I thought my ego got smaller and smaller, it's so incredibly sneaky. Thanks for your post, made me think a bit. I think that's just one facet of how the ego works and we have to transcend that at one point. Seeing that is a first good step though I guess.
  9. @outlandish That's good to know, thanks!
  10. This is indeed a very tricky and important topic. I find even with deep conversations, in the end what you try to talk about can only be expressed in silence. So why are you talking in the first place? I think it's not that black and white, and talking, especially with your closest friends, definitely has its place. I find it especially difficult if trying to connect to someone I don't really know. Because often times there is only superficial chatter in the beginning and this makes me feel very disconnected in many situations. On the other hand, I think it's completely possible to talk and be in inner silence at the same time and that this might be the way to go whenever you connect to people in everyday life. Although this is practically speaking important, be careful not to judge anyone. In the end, it's yourself you're judging. Be warm, even if you don't talk to people
  11. The link deals with converting 5-MeO, in this case I meant DPT, not sure if it's the same method though? Thanks for the help though Anyway, I found I could get some Bufo Alvarius instead of the synthetic 5-MeO, so I think I'll go with that and leave DPT out for now. This weekend I will have my first DMT encounter (Changa). Maybe it's worth a trip report, let's see.
  12. @Serotoninluv Wow that sounds like a full on experience. Interesting that you mention that before you experienced facets and now the whole and that it felt so crystal clear. I'm currently reading Entheogenic Liberation and that's exactly what Martin says about a breakthrouth on 5. How is your view on integrating all this? Do you plan more trips soon or will you "hang up the phone" for now? I also thought that the shamanic breathing beforehand could be an interesting preparatory step. Do you feel it did anything for the letting go on the comeup as in: did it help surrendering?
  13. It's quickly getting to the point of mental masturbation. I found "True Meditation" by Adya the best read on this topic which clarified a lot. "No Mind No Problem" from Ramaji is also interesting. But everything else one has to find out for oneself, there is no point in arguing about this too much. Basically leaving experience alone creates space for understanding. Without inquiring into the nature of experience and the experiencer, there won't be understanding though. That's why I find both are super important. The rest everyone has to find out for himself. Moreover, I also think this is a full time job (which does not mean formal sits don't have their place in this)
  14. I feel you, there are so many techniques out there, but as was said before, don't make it more complicated than it is. Pick one technique and go with it, many say you can go all the way with basically every technique. You could just use one and get a lot out of it. I would also suggest starting out with breath meditation because it develops capacities which are helpful for inquiry etc and just in general quiets your mind down. I like Shinzen Youngs approach on this technique but there are many good teachers. The key with meditation is to keep it simple but invest all your being in it. I also incorporate do-nothing and I just stick to "don't interfere with whatever happens". Maybe try that one out later. By the way, if you really think you can control your thoughts, look deeper. Wo thinks he controls his thoughts? Where are the thoughts actually coming from. Try to just notice how spontaneously thoughts (and all other experience) arises. It's thoughts who than say "yeah well i just had that thought". Tricky game but you can learn a lot here.
  15. Yeah, well... So maybe it will be Bufo Alvarius eventually until the synthetic one is available again.
  16. @Revolutionary Think Not sure what you're asking for specifically (what do you mean with "all of this"). What I can tell you is that from the day on I made the commitment to go for what is true and not what feels good, I felt a lot better! Simultaneously much more suffering and negative emotions were coming up (and still do) since it's bubbling up to the conscious. But only then can it really be worked through and only then is it possible to see what's really there and dissolve it. I have no idea in what position you're in regarding this work. But from your statement above I can only give you the advice that you take a wholesome approach. Don't just try to feel better and ignore the rest of this work. No matter your external situation, there is so much to discover inside. If you're really commiting yourself to this work, you can eventually transcend all suffering. I'm far away from that point yet but even within some years of doing the work, life has not been the same for me. It gained a whole nother dimension. You have all the tools you need.
  17. @Enlightenment So I guess I will really gonna try the MiPT. Just read a lot about people saying that lower to medium dosages make it very similar to MDMA which made me a bit unsure. Because it's not the happiness I'm looking for.
  18. If you're just looking for "reducing suffering" you won't come far. This is only on the surface level. If you really want to be free of suffering, there is no way around looking for the truth. At some point it's not only about emotions anymore, it's about truth for truth's sake. I know that's not what you're asking for but that's how it goes. I just want to give you a push you might need to undergo this journey. No surface level work will fulfill you in the long run. Much love to you!
  19. @Revolutionary Think I don't know how much you're into spirituality right now, but if you're honestly considering that question, I highly recommend reading "Runaway Realization" by A.H. Almaas. It's talking about this in greatest detail. Basically that no, there is never an end to discovery and realization. Because the Truth has infinite facets, inifinte ways of manifesting itself and you can always learn more from it. That's where the beauty lies, the endless potential of Truth and Life. It's quite a fascinating book. And this comes from an author who reached what many consider the "highest stages" of realization a long time ago.
  20. Interesting, thanks for the advice. What do you think comes closest to 5-Meo-DMT? I already had some intense LSD and shroom experiences, I feel drawn towards trying things like DMT and 5-MeO-DMT now though. It's a shame I can't get 5-MeO-DMT at the moment. Although I saw there would be a possibility to get some bufo alvarius extract. Would you guys recommend this or is it too far away from a "clean" experience of synthetic 5-MeO-DMT?
  21. Wow this was so interesting to read, thank you so much for sharing. You made a very important and brave step and some of the insights show me that this is already paying off. Of course as was already said, integration is key. You specifically asked some questions but I can't really answer them for you. You're on the right path. Go on and stick to truth and you will get there. Much love my friend.
  22. Yes I ordered some of them, just to be safe. I think I will try only with the concentrate pad and also with a mullein leaf bed. Heard good reports for both methods. That one sounds very interesting, never heard of it before. It even seems to be still legal in my country. But as far as my quick search showed, I could only get the HCL, no freebase. Will definitely look into that, thank you!
  23. So I educated myself throughout the last days and decided to go with vaporizing first and then experimenting with plugging from time to time. Especially since Martin Ball recommends going through 3 back to back hits in one session and lists some valuable points why this can help work through energetic blockages more effectively. But I'm open-minded to what plugging can offer too. The GVG is on its way, but as many might have seen as well, there is really no option getting 5-MeO-DMT right now. I now decided to work with N,N-DMT and I researched 5-MeO-MiPT a bit. Some say it comes close to 5(DMT), some say it's very different. Has anyone here had any experiences with N,N and/or MiPT? Martin Ball says these are also quite valuable for nondual work although 5(DMT) is king. What do you think?
  24. With caffeine, for me it got to a point very quickly where I get dependent on it. - > What do you do in formal practice when you don't have caffeine? What do you do in your everyday life when you want to be fully aware in every moment but sleepiness kicks in? When aiding with those substances, I find it difficult because I don't really face the sleepiness. It's a way of trying to escape it. But it's a part of experience, same as pain and everything else. Whether in concentration, do-nothing or inquiry, there IS a way to deal with sleepiness and even make it a useful tool to enter deeper states of relaxation. There are even monks (in Tibet I think) not sleeping for days on end to use this. Shinzen Young talked about this in one of his reatreats. Moreover, it's a good way to find out why one is sleepy in the first place (not enough sleep, nutrition, no exercise etc.) That being said, it's still a legit way to sharpen your focus with tea of course, although I also think a side effect might be a faster monkey mind. I heard it often mentioned that caffeine (even in green tea) desensitizes your sensory perception over a prolonged time of use and I have to agree. I'm still in the habit of green tea but I really want to stop this soon or at least use it very rarely. Just my thoughts, I'm not saying it's wrong or anything.
  25. Hey friend, although I also put my main focus of practice on do-nothing/accepting experience perfectly as it is, I find the capacities you can develop through breath meditation (or many other techniques) to be aiding and deepening my practice as well as being a nice to have tool in everyday life. So I incorporate breath meditation as well. That being said, there is a recorded 5 hour retreat about an advanced approach on breath meditation given by Shinzen Young and it's free. He adresses many questions including yours, so I recommend you checking it out. I'm through 4 hours until now and my practice and my understanding of it have deepened immensely. Just search for Shinzen Young Breath Concentration and you will find it. Much love to you!
