The Surrender Experiment by Michael A. Singer [9/10] 272 pages This is Michael's autobiography and it is mind-blowing. Michael had an awakening in his early twenties. This left him hungry for more and all he wanted to do was meditate. That is what he did. He bought land, built a house and was determined to live alone and meditate all day, every day. One day Michael had an insight, which helped him to recognize that Life was far more intelligent than he could ever be, and It knew much better than him what was right. He decided that he would no longer try to manipulate life, but go with anything that it presented to him. Very quickly Life lead Michael far from the lonely life of a forest-dwelling yogi. He became a university teacher, his property attracted others who soon built a temple there, he started hosting spiritual masters in his home, he founded a construction company and later another multi-million dollar business. Throughout this journey Michael was always resistant to these big changes, but kept remembering the decision to let Life choose. In the book, he repeats over and over again, that he did not ask for any of that, and in fact did not even know how it all happened. The main point that I took from this book was: the spiritual journey might not be what you think. The author retreated to the forest with a rigorous discipline practice, but in the end he found the greatest liberation in the world, surrendering to Life's will.

Self-Inquiry as others suggested. Anapanasati (mindfulness of breathing) can be really good too. -

Courage “At the edge, breathing deep, map is burning at his feet. Voices call him to turn back, takes the step, opens up. Thorns cut right through his shirt, throws it down, to the dirt. Fear is crying in his heart, march continues in the dark. Beasts are leaping to his neck, shield goes down, nothing left. Here Man stands, naked, bare. Not knowing. Ready to die.”

Up, up the spiral! This is really great. I feel like just now after reading the Spiral Dynamics book and watching hours of Leo talking about it, I am starting to get what the potential is here and why I was so drawn to it

visualize. It has the same effect as having it. Just imagine that you already have what you desire Abraham Hicks' approach could help you here.

as the author says, build up your breath retention to 90 seconds first, and than slowly go for it -

Truth “I’ve had enough of your bullshit! Just tell me the truth!” “The truth? What does that even mean?” “That, which is. That’s what it means. That, which is for sure. 100%. No doubt. That, which is clear. No argument possible. That, which is raw. No layer. No meaning. No sense. That, which is given. Stable. That, which doesn’t need your opinion. Your permission. Doesn’t need you. That, which is whether you like it or not. That, which you can do nothing about. That, which is unchanging. Ultimate. That, which never stops. Never turns out to be not-that. That, which is anything. Everything. Nothing. That, which leaves no space for not-that. That’s what it means. The truth. Tell me that.” “Oh, that! Ok… here goes nothing!”

@Shiva @Arthur Thanks, guys. I have very modest ambitions so far, and I think Python will be a good start.

The ones I met where massively dogmatic. It's not a non-dual path. You can still a lot about bhakti with them, if you can manage not to get pulled into the dogma. -
