  1. I doubt enlightenment even exists. Even if it did, how would you know if you reached it? How can one be sure what it is?
  2. That’s not true. It is so whether you decide to think about it or not.
  3. Sorry but that isn’t a correct evaluation. The body and the mind (which is all there is) do so, especially in the face of the logic where one doesn’t HAVE to do anything really. We don’t need a purpose, we don’t need to live, the more you ponder it the more death seems logical. Awareness of that reality is hard to ignore. But I doubt others grapple with such concepts. Everyone seems to believe that life is “worth it”. I believe Thomas Ligotti already address the “no self” objection to suicide, stating that it only reinforces the case for it.
  4. I hope you realize the the absence of the self (which much of neuroscience knows due to recent data) doesn’t negate the validity of ending ones life.
  5. I think spirituality has to be vague for its own survival, it needs to propitiate the belief that there are different levels of knowing. With science calling it out on many of its previously unquestioned principles, they retreat to the veil of ambiguity. That’s how you end up with videos like “why the brain doesn’t exist” (even though it does). To to be honest it’s a little odd to hear such claims from a self proclaimed pyrrhonist.
  6. Life by definition is unfair, even chimps have a concept of it. It it has nothing to do with some arbiter deciding what is fair, it’s more with how some people are born into suffering without any input.
