@solr yes, if you want to help people, these are the people who need your compassion the most Btw. What i have found is that each emotion of mine has it's polar oposite that i try to induce with a specific practice if i want to get rid of it Discouragement or stress is mostly solved by gratitude journaling for me Anger is solved through metta Etc. Im not sure what your channel is about, but if it's around self improvement, than dealing with trolls is a perfect way to practice dealing with your own emotions, so that you have a hands-on experience that you can teach your viewers

Here is a question: if people around you were passionate about the topics you are passionate about, would you still isolate yourself from them? -
I would try and cultivate a sense of compassion for your bullies or trolls. You can even do it every day at the end of meditation. Can't get mad at someone in this state

1. Assume the worst case scenario as a thought experiment 2. Fully accept this fact. Imagine this is going to happen 3. Figure out how are you going to pull yourself out of this situation 4. Now you should feel certrainty about your financial situation cause you have the worst case scenario under control 5. Repeat when anxious

I would also say that business knowledge is very specialized a lot of times as well. So it's best to tell what kind of business you wanna start before looking for recommendations

Do you think you will have problems with your work ethic while working as a teacher?

@Hardkill why do you have to finish your master? Do you plan any career out of it?

As far as i know you can cross a border every 60 days and come back. Idk, you can fly to vietnam or thailand in the meantime and go in circles

@Gladius do you think you could do your LP from anywhere in the world or do you have to be in hollywood or some other place to network? If you can do it from anywhere, here is what you do: 1. You save as much money as possible 2. In your free time you look for a remote job on a part time basis. Probably something like a virtual assistant. It doesnt have to pay much. $10 an hour is plenty 3. You buy a plane ticket to some cheap ass place like philippines where you can live comfortably off less than $500 a month. This means 50 working hours as an assistant or even less concerning you have saved up. 4. You work on your LP.

@Hardkill Hold on, the dysfunction comes from not being happy with where your life is heading, right? If you work on what you like it looks to me like your thoughts about your life going in the wrong direction may be very reduced. Do you feel the same way? Also, maybe a different kind of work may work better for you? For example if you need to work with people directly, this will usually give you much less opportunities for getting distracted or letting your mind drift in unpleasant directions. Work in solitude (like the sanding thing) seems to be a bad choice for your tendencies. Cause a) you can actually check your phone and b) there is no pressure comming from in-person contact or work with time constraints. What kind of activities make your mind go quiet?

I believe leo did a video on internal motivation vs external motivation. Listen about the internal one, this is what you are looking for

So from what I've heard people with ADD are terrible at focusing on tasks they hate, but they are excellent on working on stuff they love. Which i think you prove by talking about your hard work with regards to your hobbies. I guess the key for you may be to try and make money from what you love. Can you tutor people on science? Can you become a personal trainer? Can you instruct people on martial arts?

I would become an intern at organizations related to effective altruism. It is a movement that takes extremely systematic approach to solving world's problems - from extreme poverty to existential risk problems https://80000hours.org/job-board/

@Melwyn Thank you for your reply. I have actually been fully accepting of my state for a long, long time. It's just that I've come to the conclusion that my childish behaviour will not get me in life into the place where I would like to be. I have huge aspirations yet it seems like without a good dose of mental toughness, I will be far away from achieving any of them. My need to be more manly comes solely from my realization that I will not be able to live up to my expectations. I have read the Way of Superior Man. It's a great read. Leo did 2 part video about masculinity. In the first part he talked about the characteristics such as being ice-cold, assertive etc. and in the second one he talked about authenticity and accepting one's feminine side. They seem to be a bit opposed to each other, but I think if we put them into a sequence, they both make a lot of sense. It seems to me like I should go through a period of cultivating traditional masculine traits until they become my second nature, before I come to peace with my feminine side. I just want to change my personality to achieve greater things in life.

Hello, my main problem in life is that I have troubles with being what I would describe as childish. I am a boy, not a man. I was raised by women. Always surrounded myself with women. Never had a strong male figure in my life. I have always had it easy. Here are some symptoms of my childishness: 1. Being heavily driven by emotions 2. Being governed by addictions such as social media, smarthophe, porn, music. Not being able to internally force myself out of them. 3. Having hard time delaying gratification 4. Having hard time getting down to work (which is pleasurable once I start it) 5. Having hard time taking emotionally uncomfortable decisions 6. Having extremely hard time controlling my finances It's a complete opposite of what I would describe as masculine - being a grounded, stoic person. I'm losing my mind over it. I want to fix it. I need to fix it. I think it's the single most limiting factor to my success. Any suggestions on the most effective steps I could take to fix this?
