The only time Leo really has obviously tried to manipulate his audience is when he makes video's about meditation. He tries to trick your ego into doing enlightenment work. He says things to specifically make the idea of enlightenment appeal to the ego. But for the most part I think the dude is mostly a benevolent person. He puts out a shit load of stuff for free and seems like he genuinely wants to help people. I have a really good bullshit detector and intuition about people and Leo's information is legit and his intentions are good from what I perceive. I will admit I was thrown off by his look at first. The whole eclectic bald, cultured evil genius look, wearing a black shirt kinda threw me off and I thought he was a narcissist when I first watched his stuff. Gave him a fair chance though and I think he's a good guy. I'd like to interact with him in person in an environment where he can't pick and choose what he puts out though to see what he's really like. My guess is that I'd really like the guy. I actually think minds like his are very under appreciated in this world. Like his video on Rationalism was really an incredible exploration of that topic and it goes over the heads of so many people. Damn shame.

Don't try to change your feelings, brah. Huge rookie mistake. Observe them, bring them to your attention with the fullest intensity you possibly can, but do not be attached to them. It's hard to comprehend what pure observation is compared to getting attached to feelings if you're new to the whole mindfulness thing. To know whether or not you're getting attached to them, ask yourself if you're leading yourself to more thoughts that are negative in nature. Also, try to notice how it affects your behavior. Pretend if you were watching your favorite TV show and your roommates asshole cat that you hate jumps in front of the TV. If you were being mindful of the situation you would assess the situation very objectively, the cat has jumped in front of the TV and is obscuring my view of the TV and the feeling of anger has manifested itself in response. If you're not being mindful, you might get really angry, get up and punch the cat out of the way. This is a really simplistic way of looking at how you should practice this, but I think it's a good way for you to see it if you're new to this and it seems you are. Accept what is happening and it so happens you are someone who gets angry, anxious, and depressed. This is ok, you are human and these things will happen like a rock rolls down a hill. I'm very self-aware and continue to become more self-aware everyday. Not sure where you're going with this. I just sound like a neurotic ass who has zero self-awareness, partly because I am incredibly neurotic, but also because I'm honest about the thoughts and feelings passing in the mind. I don't have a Jesus complex just because I meditate and embrace the very flawed human side of myself. In terms of sex, I like sex with women. When I have sex with one woman after a few months it starts to get pretty boring and stale. I mean it's ok I guess, but it's nothing like that first week when you first do it with a new person. Part of my sexual enjoyment is new women and that urge ever goes away in the long run, for me. I thought that's how most men felt, deep inside if they're being honest with themselves. No matter how much you love your wife or girlfriend, no matter how hot they are, you always just want to fuck other women on the side. Am I wrong? And I don't want my partner to do the same because I'm selfish and I hate the idea of her being with someone else, probably just some instinctual desire that's pretty ingrained. I enjoyed the documentary quite a bit. With that said, I'm always somewhat put off by this deification of people as holy men. Yoganada was a human like the rest of us and it's like they're trying to spin him into some kind of mythical religious figure. Not a problem with Yoganada himself, but a problem with how the documentary creators are viewing him through rose tinted glasses. Perhaps they should have added a scene where one of his disciples aptly described the stench and visual spectacle of his dumps so that the audience better understands his human-ness.
