Mushrooms are the kings of alternative medicine. Medical science has actually been studying them and coming up with many potential benefits. I notice it is always mushrooms that get all the good press, everything else has so many potential negatives. -

Perhaps he is not focusing on it. When you meditate and focus on certain stimulus it becomes incredibly strong. Just look at your food when you eat it and BAM it tastes so much stronger. He may have merely focused on the task at hand and not the negative emotions so this time just flew by, and prior to enlightenment he focused on the bad feelings so that was all that he saw and felt. -

We need time to comprehend the human experience. Time is only possible with sentience I believe, can an animal experience pain or pleasure and understand that it will pass? Or is it 100% a slave to its instincts? Humans can understand a stimulus will last only a certain amount of time, prepare for future events in a methodical way and not by instinct. Is time purely devised by human minds? In particular the human ego? -

When I was younger and took shrooms among other things I assumed any life lesson was a result of the shrooms teaching me. It wasn't until I abstained and thought clearly and realized I was just older and wiser. Regardless of whether I was tripping or not the majority of my "enlightenment" was just living life. Yes I used the experiences to feel time disappear and I experienced true oneness which I am convinced has assisted me in meditation many years later, but I strongly agree with you TC, there is no on off switch. When I was 20 I would have believed I was as mature as I would ever get and that yes there was so on off switch to enlightenment. But I wanted to believe that because I was staring down 45 years of working a sensible adult job/life and allowed myself to believe all these distractions and ego tricks so I wouldn't have to face the fact that all those sensible boring things my dad did I was going to have to do. -

So nobody else enters the same world again and again? I used to feel like mushroom trip 7 was just beginning where mushroom trip 6 ended, like it may have been 3 months in the real world but time stood still in the mushroom kingdom and in the next trip it completely felt like going back to the EXACT same time and place within that dimension. This wasn't happening every time mind you but many times it did happen this way. And LSD had a slight feeling of the same world, DMT after the 15 minutes of pure insanity took me to a similar place, mesacline was a sleepy nautious mushroom world, morning glory and lsa were all neurotic and nervous energy ridden crappy versions of the mushroom world and finally salvia was this horrible place where only retarded angels dwell. Salvia was the only one that truly felt like its own world but it was just a demented place to visit. -
Protect yourself at all costs but make sure you don't become too estranged because you may think "fuck these people I'm done" and then end up very lonely and messed up a decade or 2 later. Yours situation sounds terrible and I hope the best for you

I just stumbled across this and it immediately "slightly" worked for me. The theory is that most people are right handed, using your right hand involves the left hemisphere and the left hemisphere controls language among other things. Use your computer mouse with your left hand, pick up the coffee mug with your left hand etc will engage the right hemisphere, quiet the mind and open up the more intuitive side of our minds. Has anyone heard of this? Not sure what the implications are for left handers

I was 16 or 17 when i started doing that stuff to so I am not insulting you, or if I am I am also insulting myself. Your brain is still in development and you should take this experience as an indication you need to be significantly older to try this stuff again. -

Brilliant! I like to learn about any "ego hacks" to trick myself when I am particularly present and sensible. I'm gonna try that one too -
Be open to the possibility you have a strange expression, gait, voice, unusual quirks that simply put people off etc. Maybe you are talking a mile a minute about hocus pocus and people are just looking at you picking up on all the other 90% of communication which is non verbal. I used to experience this, NOBODY paid attention to my words, they just looked at my weird darting eyes and panicked expression which I did not realize I had. I did not realize how fast I would talk when enthusiastic, I didn't even have an accent from my home country I sometimes talked like an american for no reason I can determine, and I never noticed other people just wanting to not be embarrassed by the weird guy with way too much nervous energy. So if you are someone unknowingly doing all these other types of non verbal communication then you are simply speaking a silent language that regular people understand but you don't. Only a possibility though, but I suspect actualized has more than a few people that fit into this category. Discovering you are giving out strange vibes through non verbal communication is an incredible gift to a weirdo. I really like almost everybody I meet now that I have learnt how to not force my uncomfortable vibes on others.

Question whether non awakened people tolerate your differences in the same sort of way you are planning on attempting to tolerate their differences. It's humbling as I suspect an immense amount of kind "low conscious" people are tolerating us "awakened" people too. Question whether this "low conscious" person will try and change you into someone like them, just like you hope you may bring them to your line of thinking. Be 100% open to the possibility you are not awakened and the person you believe low conscious is more conscious than you. Maybe you're the life of the party or maybe you start conversations nobody else finds conductive to a good time and actually tolerate you but just try and keep things lite. Maybe some "low conscious" people already tried every thing you tried and are on a spirituality break. Basically be humble and think it's possible some other people who seem low conscious are actually very stable of mind, live a large portion of their lives anxiety and pain free due to lucky genetics and other factors and therefor already live in the now by pure luck. I used to think I was the only one in my group really thinking deeply about these things but these days I realize I was the most depressed person in my group. But if you really are awakened then you will not even remotely be bothered with any of these issues. If you were awakened you would not be asking these questions. I'm not trying to have a go, I just believe not one of us is awakened yet - not even Leo.

Hahaha not really fapping atm, maybe next time I'll switch sides. There are actually lots of articles that claim to know but they only guess, it's not some new discovery or anything like that, but it seems to be way more than an old wives tale. Apparently there are all sorts of benefits from growing new brain cells, opening the right hemisphere (assuming you are right handed) the fact it involves so much focus will essentially be very mild meditative/mindfulness work. Either way the focus I need to apply just using my left hand does shut my brain up for a few moments -
https://www.happygaia.com/site/assets/files/0/01/194/left_in_the_dark_free_edition.pdf That's a link to a pretty big document about a theory of evolution and fruit, your fruit diet immediately made me think of this. As we evolved we pretty much exclusively ate fruits and berries. Like 100s of times of the amount of vitamin c per day compared to now. It is titled left in the dark because it suggests all human beings left hemispheres are essentially damaged and fruit is the suggested as part of the cure. Here's a good summary of the main dietary points. It's normally easier to read than this summary, not usual so rigid and scientific. "In this work, the authors postulate that it was not always so; the universal myth of a pre-historic Golden Age, they maintain, is a racial memory that reflects our primate evolution in an arboreal, rainforest environment in which humans possessed mental and psychic abilities that have since become lost or atrophied in the profane ages that followed. That rainforest environment favored a frugivorous diet rich in flavonoids, MAO inhibitors, and neurotransmitter precursors, and relatively low in steroid containing or x inducing elements. This dietary regime both mimicked and fostered a state, reinforced by positive feedback loops, in which pineal functions, including neocortical expansion and hemispheric integration, were potentiated; moreover, these neurochemical feedback loops were amplified in succeeding generations via the regulation of gene expression in the developing foetus, independent of conventional evolutionary mechanisms of mutation and natural selection. Climate changes or other environmental catastrophes forced several lineages of hominids as well as archaic/early humans out of their forest-dwelling ancestral home into much harsher savannah or grassland environments. As a consequence dietary regimens shifted toward roots, tubers, grass seed and a greater proportion of animal protein, triggering a reversal of the positive feedback loops that had sustained pineal potentiation and hemispheric integration in the paradisiacal, forest-dwelling Golden Age. Pineal dominance was disrupted by steroid-mediated, testosterone-driven functions primarily due to the reduced consumption of flavonoids and other steroid-inhibitory dietary factors. Changes in the dietary patterns that were forced on the population by this migration put an end to the rapid evolution of the human brain and triggered its devolution, ultimately resulting in the damaged human neural architecture that we suffer from today, and the myriad mental and physical deficits that are the legacy of our biological ‘fall from grace’"

All those bold sections is your ego, your sense of self has grown and compounded on itself and created a nasty internal voice. You can change this!!! You will change this It is only learned negative behavior and it must slowly be unwound. Every day you must feel a little better, make it about any little thing. Diet and exercise is flawless, they can only help. Start there, you may think you are healthy and exercising but push even further and you will force improvement on yourself. The other stuff will improve slowly too, you just need to train yourself and change that destructive negative thought pattern

I believe the purpose of self actualization is to go out into the world and inspire others to seek self actualization too. You can do both, be an amazing person and inspire all those you work with and maybe even the whole world if you become a world class photographer. No way an artist is not self actualizing, true art is purely that, open awareness channeling their inner being and what they see in the world.

Lately I have been setting a timer on my phone to work on uninspiring tasks. It helps me sometimes to finish a 20 minute meditation session so I've been using 20 30 and 40 minute timers for heaps of boring things. Even if your tasks are longer you could still break it up it blocks and take breaks in the middle. Thinking about what you achieved that day when you go to bed helps too, I like to feel like I earned my rest.

Congratulations on your new path! Don't feel anxious about being taken out of your comfort zone by making videos unless you are doing live streaming. It's that simple IMO. You can master the art of just setting up the shot and the scenery, microphone placements, making yourself look professional enough to make a good first impression on viewers. Your potential viewers would be of an open mind so most should see you for who you are and judge you on the quality of your material and not just how flashy and photogenic you are, but if you have poor audio, sudden changes in talking volume etc I would remember your youtube name and NEVER watch you again. That's how I consume youtube vids and I would love to watch one of yours when your done

oh ok, I'm fairly new to actualized, probably only 30 vids in and occasionally rewatching cheers edit you could possibly view those as the same thing, people believe what is proposed to them or what they see outside, and change their beliefs as the circumstances change but pure consciousness is inside and needs nothing to be satisfied. -
star ark replied to Shanmugam's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
I really think i did see an actualized vid with a topic like "fake growth and real growth" fake growth = belief real growth = conscious -
star ark replied to Jamie Universe's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Consciousness can be distorted. If you are very unlucky and injure your brain you may live your life in a state of lower consciousness - that is objectively bad to a human being. So don't get too obsessed with the everything is nothing, it doesn't matter if I die I am already in the eternal. Be more practical and try your best to always maintain the strongest, healthiest and longest lasting consciousness. -
I believe humans are the same as they were 50,000 years ago. I believe back then there were tough guys, comedians, worry worts, nerds, hot chicks, ugly chicks, honest naive people and of course cheaters and manipulators. I don't believe all of us are naturally looking for something to worship, I believe there is always a significant portion of mankind who will be controlling manipulators. Eventually the "evil genius manipulator" is born and he/she not only sees the truth and lives in the now, they know how to use that knowledge to control everyone. You could glimpse the now and be evil. So I believe with a enough people being born we will see these evil genius manipulators who understand how to use people's ego's hopes and dreams to create false gods. Then the manipulators hide behind the gods, as the authority of the god. Worship is like buying into marketing.

I'm thinking of buying this. Does it really take a few hours to filter the water like some review say? Or is it convenient? Thanks
