Is time an illusion of mind? I know we have a clock to measure time but what is time actually?
-
Experience? How do you experience time?

One of my friend asked me a question “does god exist or not..tell me yes/no” ..since he asked this question in a casual way I don’t want to give an elaborate answer so I asked him back a question “why do u need god in first place? God is not going to help you do your work and you have to work for everything you want to achieve in your life so what difference does it make if god exists or not?” after I asked this question he was speechless so I am I ...why do we need god ? I know my egoic mind is making me to ask this question and I am curious to get answers from this forum what each one thinks

@Truth this is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for finding the video

@Leo Gura I wish leo you could take a video about this topic. I know you have already a ton of videos about enlightenment and related stuff but those are deep topics a common man may not understand to begin with... your thoughts ?
-
@Truth I get what you are saying because I am a spiritual person and following Leo’s videos for 3 years so I fully agree but to a common man who ask me this question “why do I need god?” I am not sure how should I answer him. this is where I am stuck.

@Truth so we need god to awaken us? So what’s the use for me in my daily life? I still have to do my stuff and god is not going to help me so why I need him?
-
@Truth so what is your answer to “why do we need god?”
-
@Joseph Maynor a common man may not think your way right? All he needs to know is why do we need god? What should I tell him

Is this topic appropriate for this forum? Guys, please think before posting plz.

@Monkey-man Honestly, The first thing that came to my mind when i read your post is "what.... is this an issue in first place" ...Later i realized, each person emotional state is different that even small thoughts like these may bother them like hell. This is my recommendation everytime when you get this thought Imagine yourself that you were born in a poor country (say in africa) and starving for food or imagine kids dying in africa because of lack of food/water etc So now compare this situation with your current situation...does it not sound silly? you are just knocked down by one thought whereas people in real life face a lot of tough situations day in day out but it is possible they may be relatively happy compared to you....for e.g the starving kid in africa will be happy when he gets his food and all his focus will be on his basic needs..thats it.... since your basic needs are met, you are getting affected by things which are actually not that important. Your problem is acceptance. everybody grows old and dies one day and you have to accept that in a deeper level. Once you accept that you have to live in the present as much as you can because thats all you have throughout your life. So make the most out of it instead of thinking past/future. Extract the max juice out of life and you can do that by being in the presence. Your importance to your age shows how much power you have given to your EGO. It reminds me of one of the spiritual masters saying "In the vast cosmos, the physical is probably 1% only and in that our solar system is a spec and in that our earth is a micro spec and in that you are super duper duper micro spec but YOU THINK otherwise" that is a big problem. Take things easy man...Keep your mind busy with full of positive thoughts, Live your life.. This is not an issue at all

krish replied to Wyatt's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Wyatt no don’t give up until it becomes a habit..any habit is easy to start but after the initial few days the mind tricks you to go back to your old ways...if you feel low, say to yourself this will change soon and it will in a matter of time. I read the book and it was so wonderfully articulated and it did have a deep impact on me. Remember one thing “reading becomes useless without practice” i read power of now 3 years back but never put it to practice and I regret that ..I am now practicing for the last 2 months sincerely and it keeps me calm and focused. -
@lmfao can you tell me what is your daily routine? I have a suggestion but before I give one I need to know your routine
-
@Elton How are you doing now? How is your meditation practice going? Quit smoking permanently?

@hinawashi Remember this everytime you are trying to hurt others, you are investing your energy. The more you invest your energy, the more you get depleted. Treat your internal ENERGY like MONEY. You have only certain energy from morning to night and you have to use your energy wisely so that you are very active throughout the day till you hit the bed. If you get such revengeful emotions, just acknowledge it and say to yourself gently in a calm way that "I am not going to waste my energy on this person/situation etc" and that's it you can let it go..Now that you have analyzed your behavior and asked this question here shows that you have taken the first step and the next step is just to be aware and let it go. It is very simple and you trust yourself you can do it and you will.

krish replied to AleksM's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@AleksM I was impressed to read about your experience and thanks for sharing your 24/7 obsessive breathing awareness technique. I will try to follow from now on for a month and see for myself the changes within me. I just wrote a post about dropping and picking new habits at ease and let me see if I develop this habit with ease. My question to you is What are the changes you experienced post enlightenment? I get that you are not associated with your thoughts/mind anymore..Other than that what other changes you observed? Thanks Krish -
@Leo Gura I guess the problem with people wanting to change habits and not doing it is because they think it is a big task. Is it not? I just posted a new topic "Developing New Habits with ease" on this subject. I am interested to know your comments. krish

Practise meditation for 1 hour atleast and try to increase the quality of meditation every single day. As you get deeper and deeper your creativity increases. If you are connected to your true self, you will get access to the infinite power of creativity. Krish

Hey Guys, I want to share with you my experience on how I was able to develop some new habits and drop some old habits without much effort. I used to be a coffee lover since childhood and for almost 30 years it has been my energy booster in the mornings and evenings. At times I used to take 3-4 cups in a day and never refused if someone offers a cup of coffee. Over the last few years, I observed within myself taking too much coffee was affecting my sleep schedule and caused some stomach discomforts. With this thought, the next day, I was at the Starbucks couple and thinking why don't I drop this habit as it is actually causing more bad than good. I finished my coffee and without any further thoughts, while throwing the cup in the trash I said to myself "This is my last cup of coffee for my life" and dropped the cup. It has been almost 4 years since i touched coffee. Now, after i decided to quit coffee, the very next day, I was with my usual friends in Starbucks for coffee time and my friends were asking "where is your coffee" ? I said i stopped drinking coffee from yesterday and they got surprised. I keep going everyday to Starbucks but never ever drank nor felt any great urge for it. But, even though i stopped coffee, I replaced it with another habit. I started taking Green Tea and this continued for an year. One day at my friends house, I was offered coffee and with pride i said i stopped it an year ago and instead asked for green Tea. My friend was surprised that i quit coffee and he was asking how you managed to quit...I was proudly boasting that i just decided to quit one day and that's it from then on i stopped. My friend was shocked and said i wish i could have the willpower like you to quit just like that. As i was happy hearing her comments, Internally i was feeling little uneasy. I just replaced one habit with another. I decided just at that moment, why should i be dependent on these energy boosters or nerve stimulants? I should depend on myself only and not on these things. I got reminded of one chain smoker in my street who quit smoking all of a sudden and i was fortunate enough to witness that. He said to me i am quitting smoking from now on as he had got a job to organize some festival in a temple for a month and he wants to be respected by the people and smoking will give a different image. He quit once for all and as for the last 15 years till now, I never saw him smoking. This experience made me realize it is possible to stop any habit just like that so I decided that moment, I am not going to depend on any nerve stimulants and that's it and i decided from now one no i am not taking any more green Teas. It has been 3 years now, I have not touched coffee/green Tea and i realized that there are other ways to increase your energy levels without these nerve stimulants. Also, the beauty is i did not fight with my thoughts to stop the urge etc etc ...once i made a conscious decision to quit i just quit...I do go to coffee shops with friends frequently and never even had the urge and even if it comes, I will fully feel the smell, imagine how coffee used to taste like consciously and after that the thought goes away...It is like i don't force myself to change my thought to avoid not thinking about coffee but rather to the contrary and once I did that it does not bother me anymore.... I realized it is possible to quit any habit with ease by just telling yourself it is not worth it and not thinking it as a mamooth task but rather the other way..I applied the same technique to quit some of the other habits i was doing subconsciously and in a matter of 2 months, I dropped 3 of my bad habits with ease..I will just say to myself, "IAM NOT DOING THIS ANYMORE" NOT with Deeper intensity but in a much lighter sense and calmness. It is basically like saying that habit is less significant to worth my attention and it is not a big deal to quit. Now As i was able to a successfully drop a couple of Bad Habits, I became convinced that when it is easy for me to quit a bad habit, it is also easy to build a good habit.so applying the same trick, I said to myself calm and casually, from today, I will do "xxxxxxx" and was able to do it....Yes,Building an Habit is more challenging than quitting because there were days i fumbled and missed doing it but when i realize that i missed doing it, I gently remind myself calmly and conciously, I need to follow this habit and i do it.. As the days go by, each reminder is positive enforcement because the fact that you recognized that you are not following a new habit itself is a victory and slowly slowly with time, I was able to follow the new habit and now it has become a part of my life... People, believe me, It is very well possible to change our habits with ease. Don't think it is a big deal. It is just the change in mindset that is required. If i can do it so can you. It is easy. Let me know your comments. Krish
