snowleopard replied to Psyche_92's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Psyche_92 Have 'you' checked out the 'Beautiful simple explanation of ego' thread. Why be annoyed at shifting between an ice cube and water? If exclusively believing/identifying as one or the other is dispelled, voila, problem solved. -

@Markus I hold that Divine individuation need not disappear, but yes, just exclusive identification as that. Although, one wonders what would possibly be 'self' identifying other than the Divine ... All there ever is. Again, what its telos may be, may be getting into the Tao that cannot be told. -

@Dodo Well, I'm not sure about about the notion that an ice cube is resisting dissolving. It must dissolve, as is its destiny. But one can imagine resistance. However, like all such analogies/metaphors, it has its inherent limitations. -
snowleopard replied to Dodo's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Dodo I like that as an analogy for the Divine individuation into form, as a locus and focus of Awareness within formlessness, for the sake of relational experience. But I'm not sure that is what the egoic mindset is, which is rather the self-identification and belief that the ice cube, i.e. form, is somehow inherently other than water, i.e. formlessness -- because, as the Heart Sutra states, 'form is not other than emptiness, and emptiness is not other than form.' Absent that belief and self-identification, it's just a Divine ice cube in Divine water, no more, no less. 'Why' the Divine expresses as ice cubes, in a seemingly never ending cycle of apparent forming and dissolving, is another question. -

@Mighty Mouse Well said ... Sometimes the best advice is so short and sweet Btw, can I copy and paste your latest post about in-the-closet dicks in the oxymoronic 'I reached the Absolute' thread, and claim it as my own in countless other forums, while playing the mighty mouse theme? -
If anyone is looking for some new reading material relevant to many of the ongoing discussions in this forum, this free pdf of a book called I Am You may well be of interest. It's an in depth investigation into the mystery of the seeming individuation of Awareness into each unique locus and focus of perspective, and the egoic/self-identity implications of that process. Looks well worth investigating for those who are seriously philosophically inclined.

Like the Divine 'self'-perpetuating dream of you and I, in its Lila dream of this Cosmic play ? -
snowleopard replied to Shanmugam's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Shanmugam Yes, as stated, I've really no idea where it's coming from. Jane Roberts, who channelled the Seth material, was herself highly sceptical of what its source might be, and considered that it might be some inexplicable communication from a transpersonal aspect of her own psyche. But in order to make it somehow acceptable, it was translated into a kind of personification that her audience could relate to. But again, this is highly speculative, and I can't pretend to know what is actually going on with these paranormal events or any other paranormal events, like OBEs, NDEs, ESP, Poltergeist activity, etc, etc. So why exclude the possibility of otherworldly entities. If the Divine can individuate into the apparent locus of perspective of you and I, then why not some entity called Seth from God only knows where? -
snowleopard replied to Shanmugam's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Shanmugam When considering channeled information, what its actual source might be is indeed a mystery, so I just consider the content of the message itself. Hopefully I can assume that I'm not hallucinating the content of the message. If I can get some useful lesson from it, I'm good with that. If not, then I let it go. Really, half the time I don't know where my poetry comes from either. That too is a mystery I accept with equanimity. -
snowleopard replied to Shanmugam's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Shanmugam For sure, I don't believe in it, nor not believe in it, just keep an open-minded attitude. I didn't believe that 'poltergeist' phenomena was possible either, until I experienced it. Now I don't know what to believe about it. Not sure that is much different. An apparent energy/entity tossing objects around one's house, or speaking through a channel. Who really knows what is up with either with 100% certainty? Not I -

Whether one believes that channeling is possible, or whether one believes that channeling is impossible, it's still a belief ... no? "There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy." ~ WS -
snowleopard replied to egoless's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@egoless Here's another take ... There is free will ... it's called Divine Will. The notion of a separate self-identity is a belief. Can a belief have will? It's the Divine Will to dream of a being separate self. Once it is revealed to be a dream, there is nothing left but Divine Free Will being/dreaming an individual expression of itself, but without the belief in being a separate self-identity segregated from Divine Will. Then the will of a separate self becomes a moot point. One just acts according to one's Divine nature. However, Rupert is right, all this is self-confusion, as long as the separate self-identity belief remains. That sucker first has to go, to truly grok true free will. -
snowleopard replied to Jamie Universe's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Jamie Universe Seems like the revealing of a oneness/all-connectedness experience. So yes, It's what could be called an initial awakening to an expanded Awareness. Probably best at this point to focus on some kind of formal meditation and contemplation of that simple awareness, which is what one is in essence, perhaps out in nature, since you seem to be inclined toward enjoying its beauty, and just let your true nature takes its course. -

@Ruby White Welcome Ruby ... As long as it doesn't fall into the category of shameless self-promotion for profit, I'm cool with it as well. Of course, Leo will have to be the fine with it too. -

What if the Divine is dreaming up its 'self'-perpetuating dream for the sake of having this human experience. 'Why?' is another question, which is probably getting into the Tao that cannot be told ... Nature, the fount of life, has its seasons, winter, spring, summer, autumn. So it is with the seasons of the soul, now asleep, now awakening, now blossoming, now bearing fruit ... all appearing in their allotted time. Oneness loves them all equally, these dreamtime apparitions, these cycles of life and death, the sun-kissed leaf, the frostbit flower, the suffering child, the grief-stricken heart, the praying mantis devouring her mate, should one ever dare to aver any one would be without the other. Thus sleep peacefully this dark night, knowing it births the newborn dawn. -

Hopefully she won't have you put in the psyche ward !! -
snowleopard replied to egoless's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@egoless What is it that is addicted? Can a dream be addicted to a dream? Maybe The Divine is addicted to its dream that the dream is not a dream. -

@Psyche_92 Beautiful ... Just a unique individual expression of this 'self'-perpetuating Divine Dream exploring whatever the fuck it may dream up next ! -

For the record, where I first came across a resonant explanation of the kundalini phenomena I experienced was in a book called Stalking The Wild Pendulum, by Itzhak Bentov, in the appendix titled: The Physio-Kundalini Syndrome. While the book isn't just about that, it does offer some semblance of a plausible explanation/theory for the kundalini phenomenon, and other such paranormal events, while attempting to do so within the context of the prevailing scientific and QM paradigm ... however much of a dreamlike construct and distraction it may ultimately be. -
