  1. @Consilience I dont understand what you mean with this sentence. English is not my native language. I am sure vipassana is a great and valid technique for many people. I dont want to talk bad about it. But since the wrong identification with the false self (ego...) is the root problem of suffering, it makes sense to ivestigate into the core of my being. Vipassana is more like purification and releasing sankharas. The vipassana teacher said, insights about yourself and the world will come along with this technique and enlightenment happens only after you have released all your sankharas and do not create new ones. Its just a different approach. With vipassana I get a whole body buzz, similar to the bodyload from dmt or shrooms. Its very pleasurable, but with SE I often get into a state of pure silence/void where there are no thoughts and it is soooo peaceful and blissful. I am motivated to do SE and the technique is so simple, that it is much easier to do. Actually just beeing or sitting in beingness or observe beeingness... Vipassana is very hard work for me. I got better and faster with the body scan and at some point the constant scan from top to bottom / bottom to top can be done in a few minutes. But to sit for 1h or more and scan the entire body again and again and again becomes so annoying. Thats just my experience. But on thr other hand there are also enough people who have struggles to practise SE.
  2. Hi all, I tried a vipassana 10 day retreat but did not really like it. To me self enquiry and vedanta tradition makes much more sense to me. Do you know any online retreat or offline retreat in europe in vedanta tradition or which focuses on self enquiry ?
  3. Thanks for your suggestions I will have a look at them. I also found silent retreats with adyashanti. Has someone tried the courses from adyashanti and can recommend them ? @Raptorsin7 To me the teachings do not resonante with me very much. The vipassana meditation is very exhausting for me and I don‘t really like it. I did not experience great benefit from the retreat and to me the theory is not very convincing. Why should I invest so much focus again on sensations and my body ? The journey to investigate into the nature of my self is much more appealing since there is first the subject (I) and everything else appears after this. To me Self enquiry is much more enjoyable and I can sit longer periods. The thought „who am I“ infected my consciousness like a virus. I can not stop to investigate into this question, it is very addictive.
  4. Nice Post How do you perceive deep sleep ? Is there continous awareness in all 3 states, waking, dreaming and sleeping ? Do you perceive all of them without break in consciousness ? Do you have a locality where your consciousness is ? I am still identified with this body mind complex and perceive the world from a perspective of the body-mind with my point of awareness is somewhere located around the head. How do you experience the happenings, where are you located ? Do you expereince everything and everyone at once ?
  5. Thanks for creating this topic. This is highly inspiring and motivating to see the journey of others ? 1) How long are you into spiritual path? I am interested in spirituality since I was 16. But didn't know what to look for exactly and it was more of a curiosity. Time passed and 10 yrs later I found out, that I achieved almost all of my worldly desires but there was no real happiness. In the time I tried many different forms of meditation, reality creation, yoga, qigong, psychedelics, etc. but only last year when I stumbled upon the teachings of ramana maharshi everything makes perfectly sense to me. Thats when the real journey started and the intense desire for realizing the true self arose. So serious seeking only since 1 year. 2) How many trips on psychedelics have you experienced? And what psychedelics? A lot of low/mid level trips with almost every psychedelics (LSD,DMT,Psilocybin,2CB,Ketamin,5-Meo-DMT,Salvia,...). I nevery experienced complete ego death, because I have very high respect of those molecules and was never able to push me this far. But there were a lot of profound experiences which lead me to where I am right now. 3) How often do you meditate? 30-60min every day since last year. 4) Has your life gotten better or worse? How? Neither. My mental state did not really change that much. I am neither more happy nor more depressed. But my desire for liberation increased dramatically. When I meditate more, I reach places of intense bliss and peace and my live becomes more joyful. But when the ego deception cicks back in I can potentially waste a lot of time only playing video games or what ever my ego desires at that time. I recognize those patterns more and more and in the long run, I am sure that everything will become better, because meditation gets easier over time and the desire for real peace and practise will be stronger than the desire to experience temporary pleasures. 5) What are your main insides, what advice could you give to others? There are so many labels on spirituality and many of them are only deceiving. You can potentially do "spiritual practise" for years but in the end realize, that all of it was just a ego satisfaction strategy. I know when I was about 23 yrs old when I watched a video from leo about self inquiry and thought "hmm that sounds boring, I would rather like to manifest my dream girl or job or whatever". Not saying that something like reality creation is not valuable, but if you TRULY desire liberation, this is not a direct way and can hinder you to see what is really important. The biggest game changer was the teachings of Maharshi, Maharaj and the quotes on https://albigen.com/uarelove/ Only then I realized that almost everything I did before were only detours.
  6. Hey guys, just want to know if it gets easier to re-experience an awakening experience, if you already experienced one. For example, if you realized non-duality or oneness on a psychedelic, will it then become easier to experience the same or similar insight when meditating ? Like you now know what you aim for and therefore it is easier to achieve it again. Like with lucid dreaming, that the first lucid dream is the hardest @Leo Gura could you please share your experience with this ?
  7. But then it is salt right ? or is it still freebase when the vinegar evaporates ? I want no conversion to salt form
  8. I have 5-meo-dmt but I am not sure if it is freebase or HCL. It is sold as HCL, but it is not really water solube. When I add hot water, the powder gets oily an swims on top of the water. After stirring it seems to dissolve, but when I let it sit for some days, it looks like there are crystals on the bottom. I vaped 1mg of this powder and clearly felt effects and they were more than just treshold ^^ The powder is yellowish. I guess all of it speaks more for freebase. I want to do volumetric dosing, is there any good solvent which dissolves freebase ?
  9. Hey guys, I am practiseing self enquiry for about half a year now, with daily sessions of 30-60min. I am now at a point where I hit a wall. In this context I refer to consciousness as the one who is conscious. So when I am awake I am conscious and when I sleep or got knocked out I am unconscious. So with self enquiry I came to the conclusion that I can not be something that changes and consciousness does change. But then I only recognize this change when I am conscious. I do not experience unconsciousness. I only experience that I was unconscious when I am conscious again. The fact that I can see consciousness changing means, that there must be someone who exists in whom consciousness and unconsciousness arise. But my problem here is, how can I recognize this someone, when I need my consciousness to experience anything ? How can I look outside of consciousness when I am stuck in consciousness ? This seems like an impossible task.
