All that minus achieving the idea of “enlightenment”..striving for enlightenment is the reason it won’t happen. I understand First off, thought suffers yet it also wants to at the same time. Thought is very contradictory in nature. Without a problem thought has no function. A lot of people don’t think they suffer because they still are getting caught up desire, pleasure, gratification, and so on. They may have not realized they will never find peace in those movements. I completely agree suffering does give the necessary passion to explore. If you are interested, or having trouble being aware chances are you are suffering very deeply, yet you just haven’t had enough quite yet. If we dont understand the manual of ourselves “THOUGHT/SELF” there is without a doubt, pain, sorrow, suffering, and such reactions taking place. We “self” for example, tends to want to reach enlightenment as that is thought seeking security in thought “idea, abstraction.” It does so to capture and sustain psychological security. Only at the same time in the attempt to calm the mind “thought” the self will resist all such attempts. Thought wants to secure itself but at the same time if it does it sees its very role “function” as ending. In this there is fear, and thought resists improving and it also resists not improving. Because in either direction it looses its purpose, permanence, and all thought/self ever wants to do is maintain self sustainment. No matter how severe suffering is, if we don’t understand the nature/structure of thought/self, the “i”, we will suffer and if that suffering is not caught it may grow into a quite a nightmare. Either way it takes quite an interest to self reflect and learn how thought opperstes. You will learn a lot about yourself. And in so doing, others as well. Explore or don’t. But don’t beat your self up about it. That’s what thought will do, it will not act yet it will also beat itself up about not acting. Thought is a trixter, a contradicting movement that will deceive itself and convince itself otherwise. -
Wow! Your giving all your energy to this ?????? Be careful with creating panic attack though, as this is still a movement/action of reaction. But I do understand where you were going with that idea. Also once you see these movements in process/motion you will start to be able to apply them in everyday life. In relationship and so on. After all relationship with ourselves/others/environment will really help you deepen this understanding/awareness. I’m starting to figure out ways to explain the various aspects of thought in pieces so we can put it all together as we go. This will make it all much easier. I see it all as whole myself, but explaining will take a little time..... Anyway I’m really impressed with your dedication. Well done ??.... Jeez, here soon I feel you will be your own teacher and will be able to share with others your wisdom. This doesn’t take long if you dedicate all your energy to it. Although learning and awareness will never come to an end. Learning in this sense never ends. Which makes it that much better

If one is “backsliding” they are simply moving one problem to another place in consciousness. This happens by not seeing and understanding the whole of thought/self. Any moment of positive action implies contradiction. This will lead to perpetual ups and downs in consciousness. -

Maybe. But the problem with Eckhart Tolle’s teachings are they don’t get into be self/thought in depth. From what I have seen of his sharings, they don’t seem to get into the inner workings of thought. How things of the mind/thought/self, interrelate and interdepend. To me Eckhart Tolle is more of a beginning point to motivate people to go deeper into the nature of thought. But yeah unless people are really interested they won’t explore more In depth. I think he sees that. That’s why he doesn’t get to deep perhaps. He seems to aim his sharing at the majority. Go beyond Eckhart teachings. There is much more to it than what he shares. Once we get some depth we see we need no teacher at all. -

“You” can’t. Any positive movement is a movement of thought “things” or “duality” One can not go from duality to nonduality. Duality must end. When means all dualistic movement of the doer/doing illusion “time” must be totally understood. Dont try to get anywhere in particular as that implies the doer. Just understand what is causing all this contradiction. This understanding isn’t mere verbal understanding but to be able to relate all the different aspects of thought/the thinker and see them holistically in movement as they arise. Anyway, the more one strives the more one is nourishing the movement of THINGS. -
Are most psychologists incompetents? Seeking psychological order through an authority only creates further disorder. If one learns about themselves this is realized. Its like being sold your own watch. Hehe

Are you sure? A reaction to things still remains a movement of things. -
Simple takeaway for what I wrote was just to see that thought is very tricky

@Charlotte Did THE PROCESS seem familiar to you? It is something you can observe in yourself firsthand. Its great to be able to slow down that process by being aware of its pattern. This will also help with fear as well. As all the movement of fear is rooted in this process. Actually everything we face within the conscious mind is involved with this process. Hope it’s somthing you can start to observe in yourself. Once you are ready to put all you have learned together and maintain awareness of that process you will be able to be unbound by experience and maintain that freedom in your everyday life. Then time is no more.
-
Don’t stop, just understand As you start to understand those movements will cease to be in motion naturally. If “you” stops and interferes that’s perpetuating and maintaining the problem. Don’t let it all stress you out. As long as you keep an interest you will get it.
-
@Charlotte Process of experience/thought/self A) Perception B)contact C)sensation D) thought/desire “identification with the center...”The experience of “i” and what that “i” experiences is born. But remember these are one and the same movement actually. Feelingns and emotions reside within the movement of identification of thought/THE “i”.....Remember that feelings and emotions are given continuity by the movement of thought. If that movement wasn’t in motion there would be no entity that identified with them in the first place. And then through memory of that experience thought operates and creates the desire to repeat that experience through the seeking of E)pleasure. Until we understand the whole of the nature of how experience is born we will remain slave to this process of experience. If one wants to empty the mind of its conditioned content/movement so there is consciousness with NO-THING IN IT, one has to be able to understand the entire movement so that thought/self/experience does not leave a mark on any new experiencing. THEN THERE IS THIS TIMELESSNESS. BUT WE HAVE TO UNDERSTAND THE RELETIVE IN ORDER TO CEASE TO MOVE IN ACCORDANCE WITH ANY DUALITY /DESIRE/IDENTIFICATION MOVEMENT AND ACTIVITY. Then there is this no process “absolute” that are good friend @Nahm speaks of

Excellent!!! Yes you are your best teacher?????? Thanks for taking an interest friend

Only thought/mind creates a need to understand THINGS. Understand the nature of thought/self and it’s all claear. Life is much more significant than we think. Once we understand why we want to understand everything just feels much more like a playground than an obstacle. Yet there is at the same time a deep sense of responsibility that we see as a fundamental necessity when it comes to bringing about a revolution in the stream of consciousness. At least I do, and I know others that do as well..That way other us’s won’t have to go through the agonies that we do. Any way jusy explore yourself. Not to get anywhere but because it’s interesting. Actually to me there is nothing more interesting. GOOD LUCK? -

Oh you mean compulsive thinking. No I’m talking about not having to do anything and still maintaining a deep silence. Wouldn’t call it ego death. Hehe But If we are focused on any particularl activity that is a movement of thought/self. Thought and concentration are the same movement/mechanism. Channeling is a movement of thought. Compulsive thoughts will tend to quiet in that state because the majority of focus is directed on a particular point/activity. But never the less is still thought/self in movement. Yeah I understand totally. I wouldn’t call myself an expert either, and I consider myself a student of life. And I also never heard about enlightenment and pursued it, thanks heavens. For me there was an uninvited perception that did show me the nature of psychological time. In that I was freed from time. But I never chased “enlightenment” as that would have it quite impossible and taken away from the joy all together. Hehe I am now interested in having a capacity to observe without the veil of mind as I know there is much more to life than what the conditioned mind presents. For me the fact that enlightenment wasn’t even a thing actually allows for a much deeper sense of being. I am not concerned with “enlightenment.” I am concerned much more with having a deep understanding of myself and my nature. I enjoy exploring the nature of thought/self and observing without the limited observer. What do you work on project wise if you don’t mind me asking?? -
Faceless replied to Jarrad's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Thought feeds and sustains it’s own movement in the activity of concentration. But this is a mechanical movement that must be maintained in order to sustain a sense of the gratification that is achieved in the pursuit of that pleasure. Only to seek pleasure is to seek pain. They are one and the same movement. This is to introduce thought “concentration” as a means to bring about psychological order. Only to invite thought as a means to self sooth the psyche perpetuates psychological disorder. When it comes to the psychological realm thought “concentration” has no place. When there is the cessation of thought within in the psychological realm, psychological health is nothing but bliss. FREEDOM WITHOUT THE MOVEMENT OF CONCENTRATION, “THE OSERVER” IMPLIES TOTAL ATTENTION, “ WHEN THE OBSERVER IS NOT. THE ENDING OF DUAITY. THIS IS TIMELESSNESS Have you gone into this before? -
After we get all this in order then we can proceed from there. We can not go beyond where we haven’t yet began.

It’s much easier if you can connect all of thoughts movement, and see how it all works in relationship together as a whole. To see it all in one movement. This takes an understanding of thought. If you can’t connect everything together it is difficult to see and apply in daily life. Thought is the response to memory “knowledge/past experience” So when you respond to the present moment, this is thought in operation. The function of thought is to bring about physical security, so you can function practically in everyday activities. Like learn a job, remember where you live, and so on. Thought has created a a means to recollect from the past and anticipate the future. Thought utilizes the past, present, and future so it/“self” can operate in everyday affairs. This self/center is a tool to handle environment challenges and so on. The problem is thought the center/ego/“the i” doesn’t just utilizes time to respond to external challenges. That movement of thought has also entered into the psychological realm. But thought unknowingly creates the self and treats it as being independent of thought. So we use thought to bring psychological security to secure an illusion. But the very usage of thought just exaggerates and intensifies the illusion. Strengthens it, nourishes it the more thought is applied. So just as you respond with thought to solve physical problems like using memory to learn a skill, we then use that same mechanism of time “memory of past knowledge, experience” and we depend on that content/movement to bring about psychological security. But the “i” that seeks that security in thought “memory, knowledge, experience, is the same mechanism that causes insecurity. Self/thought. Thought is the reason for all psychological problems. Because thought/self thinks it is seperate from the mechanism it uses. “Contradiction/duality” As long as this movement continues there will be confusion and one will continued to use fire to put out fire. Which leads to a big ass out of control fire? So the you with psychological problems is attempting to use the very thing that causes those problems. Even when you say im suppose to do this or that, it is an idea you have accumulated through memory/knowledge/thought..So there you have invited the problem, “thought” to solve a problem for an imaginary entity that believes it is seperate from thought. THE CAUSE IS THE EFFECT AND THE EFFECT IS THE CAUSE. ⭕️ So this response doesn’t get in to deep in regard to all the different aspects of thought and how they interrelate and interdepend, but it does show that all psychological problems are in fact made worse by the means in which we try and solve the very problem. If we do not see that any movement of thought only perpetuates psychological insecurity then we live is perpetual conflict and misery. This is just something to consider when thought creates some problem out of thin air. That’s it’s function, to solve problems. But if it isn’t being utilized it will create problems to in turn try and solve them. Without problems thought ceases to have a role to play. That is a threat to its very continuity to self sustain. Anyway, “the self” is a tool to respond to our environment to operate and function, but the self convinces itself it is independent of thought. This is a contradiction. Every movement we make in the pattern of contradiction leads to confusion, conflict, pain, and psychological suffering. This is not by any means going to help you understand The Whole of thought, but it may create some interest in the necessity in taking an interest. Anyway even if you are not interested @zoey101 maybe someone might be. This is just to share how important it is to understand oursleves.

If you create an image “type of attitude” to maintain psychological security all that is doing is constructing something that will in most cases be destroyed by dynamic circumstances. You are then depending on that image to bring about psychological security. To create the image creates the possibility of that image being destroyed. If there is No image, then there is no chance of that image being destroyed. When we create an image to capture and maintain psychological security we invite the inevitable possibility that ends in psychological insecurity. If this attitude is in any way dependent on the evasion of fear you will inevitably create fear in so doing. If you formulate an attitude “reaction” to avoid trouble in that very reaction “attitude” you invite self deception, ego’s best friend. Where there is order of mind there is no need to create the image “type of attitude” at all. To understand this is the ending of such movement.

TO ANYONE LIVING IN FEAR To seek freedom from fear implies an action that is taken in reaction to the very problem, FEAR. To utilize a means that is the result of reaction is in itself a movement of fear. Any movement of fear can never end the movement of fear, but will only perpetuate that very movement. Its only in the absence of reaction “free of a motive/means” that this very movement of fear will cease to manifest. To act in accordance to reaction implies an evasion of fear itself. Any movement of reaction, and to attain an answer to escape the problem of fear is the very reason fear takes place. To seek an escape through the means of thought “plan of action” is to avoid the very problem altogether. There must be an understanding of the origin of FEAR and it’s relationship to security/insecurity. To see and understand how these movements interdepend and feed off one another. To understand the problem of fear is in itself the means in ending it.

People seek answers to escape there problems. They go to psychotherapist, priests, gurus....But they never think of the common sense in understanding the problem itself. They want a quick fix from there suffering yet they don’t want to put the necessary energy into doing so... And yes, we tend to want answers through outside agency’s but in doing so that very means is a product of the same mechanism that causes the problem, which is THOUGHT. We try to eradicate one problem at a time but in doing so the means that we use just moves the problem to another area of conciousness. To escape one problem which creates another. To seek answers to one problem at a time implies contradiction. There then is a movement of desire “of thought/time” to end that problem. But as long as there is the movement of desire in action inevitably there will always be contradiction. The key is to understand the root of all psychological problems, THOUGHT/SELF. And in that understanding is the action of freedom. To go about trimming the branches of thought will be a never ending process of conflict. To get at the root of all psychological problems ends the regroth of those branches from reproducing. You have the right idea @zoey101
