@zoey101 I would start investigating psychological time. Once you understand what it is pointing at, start build an awareness of that movement of fear in motion in your daily life. Psychological time is the root to all psychological suffering.

Indeed...psychologically any attempt to cultivate the fact, (insecurity), to security, the (idea), actually only perpetuates that movement of insecurity. Because we are continually evading what is to what should be. Always escaping the problem. Fear evading fear remains a movement of fear. We think thought, knowledge, intellectual positions,(ideas, abstractions), can bring about a future state of psychological contentness, but to invite that movement of time, (thought; accumulated experience, knowledge, through memory), is actually only a form of procrastination and further acts as self perpetuation of confusion, contradiction, and conflict. This is actually sustaining and pushing away the actuality of freedom. Psychological freedom does not depend on time or cultivation. Psychologically time-thought has no place. Freedom is now or never. I agree with this @Arman, only I wouldn’t say psychological order depends on “growth”..to me that implies cultivation-time. I think what you are saying is great. For me personally, Freedom was instantaneous and became an actuality when I saw the futility in seeking security in thought,(psychological time). When I saw that psychological freedom is always now, and to say I will be happy, content, and satisfied in the future by practicing, reading, accumulating knowledge, and so on, is only delaying complete action now. Thought always wants to rely on the future. And until then thought-self continues to self perpetuate. This is a self sustaining mechanism that feeds off itself. Thought can solve practical-functional problems in every day life, like providing oneself with food, shelter, and so on, by psychologically thought causes psychological disorder. However I do feel to understand ourselves free of all authority helps one to see the fact of all this.

Hehe....Nice!!! What is the head in this case? The veil of the time, as (the i) ?? i wrote this in another thread but it seems to relate to this topic..... Present moment BE-ing, or not? I am amazed how much this attempt of “staying present”, can actually very subtly be a reaction-response of the past, that is perpetually trying to control-project a certain particular type of future-destination-goal. How do we know when we are really present, or in this ‘state’ of “BE-ing”?? Do “we” know if we are Be-ing present? Or is the “we”, (knower-known), a manifestation and expression, that actually indicates the absence of present BE-ing? “We”, “the knower”, which is “the known”, or (the past), mechanically moves to project itself forward in time. If this movement in fact takes place, it implies that there is not actually a “present moment” or “state of BE-ing”, being actualized at all, or does it? If there is any reaction-response of experience, knowledge, memory, or (time) as “the i”, being carried over into “the now”, could this “Living in the present” state of “BE-ing”, actually be a subtle form of living from the past, as a modified present, and projected future all simultaneously as a movement away from what is??? Is this an example of the self perpetuating loop of experience as the i, (time), that acts as a veil to timeless BE-ing. Surprisingly this seems to go unnoticed. Quite interesting isn’t it? This has to do with this barrier to “the now” or timeless Be-ing. Have you noticed this as well? This is what I refer to as HEADLESSNESS. The ultimate creative happening. -

Where the corruption of humans comes in is the effects of thought influenced by the notion as being a self-isolated entity, or (the i). If we observe very closely, we see that with this increasesd verbal-intellectual capacity, comes its effect of corruption as “the i” who seeks psychological security. It seems, (thought-self), values psychological survival, where as, to maintain physical survival is an intelligent response as the organism itself. To much importance seems to be given to this illusory psyche, which then influences all action to sustain and nourish that illusion. This is where psychological fear distorts and prevents the capability of love. As long as there is this attachment-clinging to this accumulated experience, knowledge, memory, as the i, the self remains in a contstant state of defensive and strategic movement to secure its false self. As long as this psychological fear determines action-reaction, as the i who seeks psychological security in time, Love is an impossibility. Can we see that the ‘whole action’ as LOVE is only in the absence of psychological becoming, (time)??? -

Sure...fear distorts rational response. A defensive measure to maintain a certain degree of psychological security. Wasn’t aware of the Amygdala hijack info. Interestingly matches up to internal observation in the self-thought. -

Three forms of authority to be aware of. 1. The guru 2. The book-video 3. The (accumulation of experience, knowledge, memory), as the i, that seeks security in time-thought. Any psychological dependence on either one is to invite confusion, contradiction, and further perpetuate fear. Number three seems to be the most difficult to be aware of, as that fuels this compulsion to adhere to both #1and #2 of the first two forms of authority. If #3 is understood holistically, the movement to move in accordance to #1 and #2 ends. -

Mind does not belong to you, “you” belong to it. It’s not your mind , or my mind, but “the mind” -

Yes indeed Thought loves to break to pieces. -

The actual movement-ACTION of Love has no opposite. If it does it is not love. Thinking operates in terms of the opposites, or duality. This is a mental conceptualization that accociates a range of variations of disturbance such as feelings, excitement, and so on. These are states that thought then interprets into an image, such as (Love). Actual love is not a conscious mental reaction. Any reaction of the mental-psychological mechanism of thought, is a movement of fear. Thought is a direct function of fear responding to protect itself and bring about psychological security... But If there is fear there can be no love. Love is not a psychological reaction. It’s the absence of psychological reaction. Love is intelligence itself, (that which is not fragmented, conditioned, mechanical), by the limited and strategic mechanism of thought. Anyway this is seen when thought is explored in oneself. That’s the great thing about self learning, it’s all directly right in plane open sight within “yourself”... All you need is a willingness to observe what is the case without distorting to rationalize the fact. -

All the attempts to bring about psychological security in oneself, only contributes to physical insecurity in relationship when it comes to society/world. This causes disorder in relationship between man-woman, and disorder in the relationship between man-woman and environment. Seeking psychological security causes psychological and physical insecurity. We destroy our own security by seeking it through the illusion of psychological time. -

Or discontent Escape from discontentedness Then Experiences a sense of satisfaction, but becomes scared because then the fact seen that it will not last, (sees its impermanence)... which as @robdl says breeds fear and insecurity indeed. To seek pleasure, (satisfaction), to escape (dissatisfaction), is fear attempting to escape itself which in itself breeds further insecurity-dissatisfaction. Any attempt to seek security in thought,(pleasure), inevitably nourishes insecurity and perpetuates this movement of fear. Pleasure is one and the same movement of pain-conflict-suffering. -

Precisely! Only thought cuts “things” into seperate parts.., Thought mechanically fragments the movement and contents into parts. The intellect in its very nature, prevents holistic seeing-understanding as one unitary movement. Without a holistic seeing, the intellect continues to cause confusion, contradiction, conflict, which further nourishes this mechanical, fragmented, self feeding loop. -

Desire, fear, and seeking, being one and the same movement of (TIME) as “the i” who seeks psychological security to become or not become. The never ending movement to evade the fact, to the abstraction. Self sustaining function of thought-self. -

Time trying to use time to end time. Fear moving in accordance to itself, to end itself. Fear(time-thought) trying to end itself by employing that very movement of time-thought-fear....endless loop indeed⭕️ THE ULTIMATE CONTRADICTION -

? Thought always wants to imitate, conform too, adhere to a teaching, depend on its knowledge, experience, through memory, then with that, find freedom. To move within the field of time,(psychological becoming) ...To escape what is, to abstraction, of what we want to be. All a movement of fear. Fear evading its own movement of fear through dependence on “sacred knowledge”... The self, experience, knowledge, memory) seeking security in itself, experience, knowledge, memory)..classic self perpetuation, self preservation. Instead of playing that game, we can start nearer to home by understanding the self very deeply. Silence comes with holistic self understanding and attention. To talk about “knowledge of god” or “the absolute” is going beyond where one hasn’t yet begun. When you deeply understand the self-thought, you will not get caught up in all the (jive turkey ?) spiritual teaching mumbo jumbo. Instead participate in active communication with people who are interested in thought-self. Learn together about what can be observed directly in oneself. Thats the great thing about a forum. An opportunity for communication. -

We all share with one another. We are all learning the art of living together. No teacher-student bs, but student-student communion. In Communion there is no advising or dependence. -

You can seek out teachers all you want. If you feel that’s necessary than by all means do it. But you don’t have to. Don’t let anyone fill your head with such nonsense. -

Only if independence is born of its opposite, dependence. Both remain a movement of fear. As long as there is a motive, (time), or to (become this or not that), fear will continue to enslave itself. Freedom to understand ourselves without the here say of another is fundamental. -
Faceless replied to David Turcot's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@David TurcotIf you look deep within you will see that dependence implies and perpeturtes fear. As long as there is fear freedom is not. As long as there is no freedom, time, (the entity who wants to become), remains the very preventing factor to timeless being. Liberation is not something to be cultivated. It comes when fear, dependence, attachment, to all forms of authority end. You can spend 40 years following, or you can end that perpetual movement of fear now by seeing the futility Lin it all. Freedom is not in within the field of time my good friend, it is timeless. Only thought ‘thinks’ freedom can be cultivated. That is the only functional pattern the self knows. Freedom is now, or never.
