Lol As I said you seek pleasure because you suffer. The more you seek pleasure the more you will suffer?♀️ If it’s fun be my guest ? -
I agree..that’s the contradicting nature of thought. Without a seeing understanding of the whole of thought “the self “ thought is selective according to its preferences, desires, and so on. This type of thinking is influenced by personal bias and so on. I agree again.. Through this compulsion to rationalize in the attempt to validate ones conclusions thought becomes corrupt. In seeing the truth that thought is limited by the thinker and there agenda makes for a true line of thought. As in not being caught in the deception of ignorance of that fact that thought seeks security and by doing so is unable to be objective.

I observe on a daily basis subjectivity in both the psychological field “modern day spirituality” and the scientific field. The capacity to sustain a true, rational, logical line of “ trueness” is dependent of the very mechanism used by the observer which is thought. If we do not understand this mechanism of thought it will not run crooked and be disorderly. Only when there is order in thought can one be truly objective.

In tearms of moder utilization I tend to avoid that word all together. To many mixed interpretations about it. -

I believe the root of that word implied a unification amongst people as to designate significance, value, and meaning of living. Like a general consensus of purpose of some kind. Of course I’m not totally sure. Words and the meanings change. This is believe was a Latin root of meaning so I don’t know. I’m not a scholar, thankfully lol -

@StrangerWatch Only in thought does one play the game of opinion my friend. The question would be from what basis do you identify with these morals in which you are so obviously promoting. Is this viewpoint a manifestation of conditioning according to tradition and so on? Instead of coming to the conclusion in regards to your own conditioning whether an event was good or bad why don’t you see what the root of the problem was what instigated that whole conflict. Don’t you see this pattern of pain and pleasure playing a significant part in that division and conflict? Do you see that morality accepted by tradition, culture, and any type of psychological authority is actually in its self immoral? -

No argument here friend. It’s simple if you observe. Pleasure is born of pain. And then in that pleasure comes the mechanical pattern through thought to recapture that pleasure over and over again. This creates fear that that that pleasure will not be experienced again and when it isn’t there is then further pain. Pain and pleasure are two sides of the same coin. Only thought creates this separation and distinction. i hope you see this duddy? -

Although the words good and joy are in essences distinct from thought altogether I have a feeling you mean pleasure and pain. If I am correct in assuming so, it seems obvious that any movement within thought is relative. Without pain and suffering there would be no pleasure. Because we suffer we attach through desire to various pleasures. The longing of pleasure is a movement to self sooth the psyche. Pleasure and pain are actually one in the same. One is born of the other. A pattern of thought. A perpetual movement from one to another. The movment of becoming. Am I with you here or have I misunderstood? -

?Don’t get caught in hope my friend. Just an extension of the belief that this method will bring about security of the mind. This is a movement of escape. Do you see that? Trying to do nothing is still doing something. U see this “trying” is the flaw here. -

What do you mean when you use this word bliss? -
Anyone not aware of the self “thought”, to one degree or another is a sociopath or psychopath. Mental disorder is very common in society. I would guess 90% of the world if not more share this mental disorder. These people are everywhere. Politicians, judges, law enforcement, Education, and so on. Instead of pointing out if another is a sociaopath or psychopath shouldn’t we just be aware of ourselves. See what causes this behavior and put our own disorderly thought in order. If each one of us brings about order in themselves this order will reflect back on society making a sane place to live for our children, or future you’s and i’s?

Isn’t this thought induced idea of a true self an attempt to escape suffering and therefore brings about its own conflict and suffering??♀️
-
What true self ??

Our ability to think has its adventages but it also has its disadvantages. Thought has helped man to survive his environment since the beging of man. But when that same capacity to think gets transferred over psychologically then comes the conflict. Thought is the root of conflict and suffering.

@Vlad Ropotica Use your sorrow, pain, suffering to fuel your self inquiry. Don’t escape through thought projection of becoming this or that. That’s an escape form the sorrow. Stay with this pain and suffering friend. Watch yourself while this is happening. This is self learning. This is essential. -

@StrangerWatch Just stop thinking about enlightenment friend. This isn’t about becoming. It’s about the freedom from becoming. ??♂️ -

For a long time if not for ever one must constantly watch his own sensations, thoughts, and feelings. We have to protect ourselves from the movements of the self “thought” all the time. Like an animal in its environment has to constantly be aware of danger to survive. It’s the same way with thought and the self. hang in there? instead of meditating, controlling and suppressing learn about thought “the self” there one in the same. Good luck friend?? -
What is reality? I thought maybe i should take out nature. It might not have been the best way to put the question

Isn’t the entity that practices unconditional love the very same entity that is incapable of loving? Can the essence of love be cultivated through desire? What do you think buddy? -
Faceless replied to Joseph Maynor's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Who or what is the entity that attains? Isn’t this “entity” desire for attainment? And why this desire for attainment? -
Freedom from the past is essential. All accepted assumptions of the past become projected extensions of thought and the movement of desire for that which is beyond reality. There is no truth in accordance to knowledge/thought. Truth is totally independent of thought. Imitation and conformity to concepts, ideas, and theory’s don’t bring about wisdom or any kind of psychological revolution. Ideas, projections of thought which is fragmentation within reality only brings about further conflict and degeneration within reality. This is something one can observe for them selves if they watch very carefully. I will say the very ability to communicate with one another is essential and for that leo has hit the ball out of that park. This forum can bring about curiosity and may invoke interest in ang given direction. Although there will always be deception and corruption within the forum the fact that there is a place to have discussions presents its own significance. We are all in this together. It’s not about me or you it’s about the whole. ?
