Your on to it. Having any form of image is forming an illusion to escape the insecurity you already feel. And yes creating another image is setting you up for further perpetual conflict and suffering. Not only to you personaly but also with others around you. Images in relationship be it with yourself and others are very destructive. If there is no image what so ever then there’s no measure being established to invoke depression or gratification in validation. Measure does not need to be established psychologically. It only has its place in practical affairs.

@Joseph Maynor what do u mean by ‘acquiring’ self-consciousness? Just so we’re clear. I have never read any past theory’s so I don’t know where he was coming from. Do you?

With the self/ego being the result of fragmentation/duality/measure and wholeness being immeasurable, how can fragmentation be integrated into wholeness??? Do we see the falsness of this? Do we see that where ever there is fragmentation only leads to further fragmentation? This is a cool one to think about ? this also relates to meditation categorie under.....can science ever tells us anything about consciousness..

@MarkusSweden if fragmentation/duality or thought is used how can that ever comprehend the whole? Can fragmentation be integrated into wholeness??? this also relates to topic in self actualization category under self image paradox -
Ok ?

What center of action is left to act if there is no center? Lololol

Who’s the entity that remains to ‘drop’ the ego?
-
What is the self/ego?
-
how can we assume it takes a lifetime to see the falsness of the ego/self?
-
Why would one de-center the center after seeing its falseness??

Creating and Depending on any type of image to give one a sense of self esteem ‘confidence’, and security presents itself with very problematic consequences don’t we think???
-
Do we see the fact that in trying to overcome insecurity is an attempt to seek security psychologically, and that only promotes further insecurity?? Is there psychological security?? Can this ‘self’ cultivate security?

As long as there is a movement of measure there will cease to be a freedom from the self -

There is only creativity when the ego/self is not. Creativity is only when there is truth -

What do we use to investigate, explain, and examine? -

Since science Focuses on parts of the whole then that implies it does have a limited capacity to explain a particular part. But to know it’s limits is a necessity. -

Science as generally practiced implies measure/thought/fragmentation/segmentat-ion Seems consciousness is an internal/mental/mind relationship to the whole of cosmos or ‘wholeness’ So one might ask how can a limited, fragmented, and segmented form of measure /thought grasp/comprehend/hold together ‘THE WHOLE’ in which that very stream, movement, and process of thought/measure is a part of??? Can a ‘PART’ cover the ‘WHOLE’ ??? I would say this is Important to go into. -

Freedom from the limited self imposed space of thought there is a infinite spaciousness of wholeness. Where there is duality and fragmentation wholeness is not. Nice one @Shanmugam
