@SgtPepper I would bet he’s referring to not getting caught in the trap of psychological time. Could be wrong though? -

I agree but I don’t think he is put in them in the same category. He seems to be referring to the limitations of experience itself. Experience is very tricky. Experience can very easily be influinced by the knowledge obtained through memory and then there can be a projection established due to the attachment of that content. So one would have to be quite sure that there past ‘the known’ wasn’t influencing that ‘spiritual experience’. This takes a deep and honest understanding of ones own motives, demands, and indulgents of pleasures/desires. -

If there is that feeling that these states are temporary maybe inquire into the nature of meditation. If what you are doing is a concentrated movement ‘thought induced’ or ‘control or suppression based’.. if so this could explain the compulsion to engage in mechanical routine to capture those particular states. I inquired into the nature of meditation and the nature of thought. This might help you? -

Think of it as a total state of attention to the whole of things. Attention without exclusion of certain parts. For me a capacity to see externally in the environment and inwardly at the ongoings of mind without the desire to intervene and control what is because the mind constantly wants to meet the present with the known ‘the past’. So it’s the ability meet each moment without the influence of the past preventing the newness or creativity of fresh experience from arising. Otherwise the experience becomes a mere projection and continuation of the past ‘the known’. So it’s an ability to perceive without a perciever which is the knower and the known. There is only then what’s perceived. This is headlessness action without a center “me” As of now that is my default state. The first time it happened it was totally unintended. It was not premeditated it just happened. After I felt very light and at a deep peace. A total freedom from self. It seemed to fade in an out although there was a consistent state of freedom from self. I can just simply sit now and stare off into space become completely headless. It’s great out of this world? As time went on I then started to get involved with self inquiry to figure out what had happened. Ever since this state of headlesness or centerlessness has deepened. This seems to bring about a deep sense of no mind. No meditation as far as sitting in various postures for certain periods of time was used. That’s my experience and I hope you have experienced this or you will if not.? -
Yes An invitation of psychological time. To invite pleasure is to invite pain and suffering.

@Outer Understanding your nature and the movement of thought is not important? If you are not aware of how you think won’t you remain in a pattern of disorderly thought? Therfore one will start/continue to create psychological problems for themselves and that confliction and contradiction will be expressed outwardly for others. There’s a lot of topics I have seen you indulge in that seemed rather superficial. Yet when it comes to something that actually leads to healthy relationships with yourself and one another you say it doesn’t matter??? Did you have a Bad day??♂️. It’s ok man don’t be sad? Lol just kidding man. Don’t get all reactive on me? -

Yep? as illusion and deception manifests from thought. -

Self knowledge opens the door to wisdom. Understanding the nature of thought and it’s relationship with the psychological compulsion to become or maintain sense of ego/self security. By understanding the stream of thought one can be conscious of ones own disorderly thinking. Being aware of the nature of thought one doesn’t proceed in the contradicting, fragmented, and mechanistic movement of thinking. Also one is aware of how the psyche directly influences how how rationally, logically, and how reasonable that train of thought will be. The accumulation of knowledge, through memory and experience is not a measure of wisdom. The understanding of the whole field of thought/self does. Also when there is a wholistic understanding of thought/self that puts an end to all conflict in relationship with oneself and with others. Thought cease to interfere in the movement of relationship. As thought has no place in relationship. To see the limitations of thought leads one with a capacity to put it in its right place. As a function and for practical purposes. This is the way I think of wisdom.? -
Of course, if you are emotionally attached than thought will be irrational anyway. This is true. That is an indication of disorderly thought. There then comes contradiction due to the bias nature of the psychological need to self validate and self affirm. Rationalizing is the product of irrational thinking. Irrational thinking is a symptom of the impulse to self sustain the ego.

Maybe he’s referring to how the nature of experience can in most cases become a trap leaving one chasing experience. He might see indulging in the movement of psychological time as a type of revolving door if you will. A continuing of mechanical behavior therefore still time bound. I don’t know for sure as I haven’t read anything he has wrote other than a couple quotes. This just seems like valid standpoint he might have. By the way is he related to Terrence? -

How to avoid our experiences being the product of thought.... The more one accumulates and is influenced by knowledge and seeks psychological security in that knowledge the more ones direct experience becomes only a thought induced projection. If one fills there head with concepts, theory’s, and beliefs in order to capture the silence of being they will never actually reach silence. In order for there to be silence all thought induced perceptions and movement of will must end. Both those inevitably lead to deception/illusion. If you don’t set up this possibility for your experiences to be influenced by knowledge, memory, and past experiences then lessens the chance to get caught in the mere acceptance of various types of abstractions. Only when there is this emptiness of mind can there be an experience free from the experiencer. Can you see the significance of going about it like this. -

To me it seems he doesn’t promote drugs because he might think it’s easy to get caught in illusion and deception for people who haven’t self inquired deep enough. If you don’t understand yourself this is bound to happen. -

Maybe he just sees how most people become so obsessed with spirituality yet never wake up. From the very very little I have seen of him just now he seems to be providing good information for the most part. He doesn’t seem to want to add anything to others minds which is great. -

For me yes. I lived in and around forest wilderness most of my life. I refused to conform to various types of conditioning and I think this allowed for a certain capacity to be very sensitive to the organism/environment. This I think is how this capacity for healdlessness ‘movements/action without a center’ came to be without seeking or grasping for it. -
Freedom from the known is essential. And time ‘movement of intellect’ leads only to further finite movements of time and will always be extremely partial and limited and will never be able to capture the whole.
