  1. @The0Self To me the point is not that people work many hours AND get shit done, the point is that workaholics work STUPID for many hours while achieving not much AND stressing all the people like hell. In my mind this is one prime problem in the work world today. People work too much, get not much done and stressing the adjacent people
  2. @Average Investor on point. Working all day, but for what? A 40h week is more than enough. @Eternal Unity to answer emails and make sport, lol? That's where being self employed or highly skilled (with no supply for your skills on the market) comes in handy. I call it (based on Eckhart Tolle) "The Power of No" , hahaha.. Have a nice day guys
  3. @reves Exactly. I do a more spiritual Hatha* Yoga Style with my addition from whatever I find useful. If I need much relaxation for 1-2 hours. If I'm fine I make only 30 minutes. I don't do yoga very often because I make resistance training as well, which is relaxing too (well, in another way). But it matches very good as a endroutine after a particular stressing day. *Most school I saw that claimed they would teach hatha yoga would actually teach just stretching and breathing. Just words regards
  4. @Jordan94 and @Consilience , thanks for the recommendation of “The Mind Illuminated”, I'll look at it now. Hey @Raptorsin7, for concentration as a skill to get something done I experienced the following as very rewarding: Plan out every detail in you mind before you begin. If you plan repetetive Task this way, you become more focused and effective. Little building blocks one at the time. Stop after some time (like 30 Minutes) and make a short Mediatation. I wrote about the benefits of that in this thread. However, this scope of that thread was more on the getting things done level, so it might not that interesting to you as you seek enlightenment as you told in your first post. regards
  5. Update: I'm still doing my Routine, but now mixed a little Yoga in. It's crazy: I 'lose' maybe 2h a day, but I feel much much better and get greater things accomplished. I now want to pitch Meditation Meetings in the company I work in , because I know Management would likely approve and some people are already into it. Especially if we are back in the Office I wouldn't want to change my Routine because that would mean extra hours, bad results and the grindy normal I experienced before where everyone gets quicker and quicker but not much meaningful work can be done (you need that silence) regards
  6. never thought about it that way. i thought that psychological diseases are a issue seperate from the stage one individual is in, even though I would also say that the trend is higher the stage, the more sane i would guess a individual (other factors unknown) do you think a new sort of psychotherapy could heal all of that after working on these traumas? regards

  8. Has anyone else the problem to get logged off when you press 'forum':
  9. it won't make it worse;) Sure! I love to tell you this I want to make the best Learning Material in the World. My Dream is a company where books, audiobooks, apps and what else not get made in the best way people can understand it. For example you get a presentation matching your learning or MBTI type - every student can choose from the variants!! And for free on donation basis. I would like even to make material for schools (Apps, Presentations for Teachers with ready made Tests)
  10. @Understander i turned a add-on off and on and it works now
  11. I had roughly the same Issue and I decided to boil it down to the Essence. Could it be the case that all that bullet points have something in common? Even vaguely? Something that you can't name right now? Do your smalls bets and see how it evolves and how it feels... I'm on the same path, just with different bullet points regards
  12. Why some decisions (good and bad) birth decades of development before the chance is there to change again, like in Fall of Communism.. you can't easily change modern Russia again... people want stability Why we can't easily re-engineer system like the legal system Why people and organizations resist fundamental change because they would need make clear that they were wrong all the time Why we can't re-engineer everything from scratch (because where is so much wisdom and nuance in the systems we can't understand)... it lead to tragedies like the proverbial reinvention of the wheel
  13. @intotheblack nice Information:) First of all this is very subjective. Any of us here discussing could seen as toxic by another person. Or a person you see as toxic is seen as perfectly healthy by her family. I can't define what is toxic in general, but If I meet someone that will proof to be toxic I get a hit of Intuition. But I wait, because I'm also often false. And this is what I can give in this discussion. Maybe many who we quickly classify as toxic are just unconscious people in bad engineered social systems?
  14. Nothing, but likely you lose yourself in the course of the way and have no integrity to simply come back to.. also would you give anything away after a 20+ Years struggle?^^
  15. @mandyjw Isn't it?:) after most of my stands I have some worthwhile Ideas. I just let the Ideas come by and catch them like a fish from the water
  16. Hello fellas, I can help you during corona to learn programming! I can recommend books, we can do QnA. If your are already skilled feel free to teach as well. Everything is debate able like what medium we use, you can write as well if you want to learn something else We could even think about a general mentor program for many skills like playing music, any science or even drawing beautiful pictures. We have so many skilled people here AND we have the time to share our skills!!! I want to inspire YOU. Why I want to do this: My way to help others. Who am I & what to expect: I learned programming (as a non-cs student) more or less in the last 2 years. I'm not very good yet, but I'm good enough to earn a living wage with it. I'm not a master. I can help you to start and answer all you newbie questions in pm :):)
  17. @Raphael the skill to sell a product
  18. @xxxx but generally it's true that some kind of software skill is mandatory;)
  19. @xxxx i think he's cool with software development. look at the text under the line in his post;)
  20. Accounting is something every Entrepreneur needs. And you can start it right now with you personal budget and free software..
  21. @StarStruck Do what you want:) I see programming as a Tool to get Things done so I get paid. People romanticize it too much. So no need for you to be sorry The same Problems will be popping up in the Consulting Career. Both are rather competitive and high stress. Thats no problem for you per se, but you need to get used to it. After I read 'Antifragile' from Nicolas Taleb i got a better understanding how stress beyond what im used to actually helps me to improve (up to a point)
  22. - Do you read the 'Meditations' of Marcus Aurelius? It's still there after 2000 Years for a reason. - I really enjoyed reading 'Poor Richard' from Benjamin Franklin (as a Non-American). He has a certain wit in his writings. - If you are into Science Fiction read 'The Expanse', it is also full of little Bits of Wisdom and quite entertaining in the display of the mundane things of human nature that will never change... Victor Frankl (a Psychiatrist who survived the Auschwitz Concentration Camp) claimed that one can get through everything with a Meaning (or Purpose). I found it always uplifting to read him because he went through hell and came out psychological healthy (if you consider the Horror he experienced) - if he could do that then we can do it as well.. Lastly a Idea.. do something good for yourself (even if you don't feel like it): Eat better food, Exercise (like @xxxx wrote) or floss you teeth every day. If you treat yourself good, it sure helps. Have a nice Day!
  23. @varkolaka122 just think about how much time you waste, you will likely develop a sense of urgency over time;) you asking the right questions, now it's up to you how long it takes before you overcome that. usually one is lucky change one habit at the time. don't forget to live and always think about the break points, the points there you are likely to fuck your new routine up
