I dont know, but I once did self inquiry in a dream without realizing it was a dream. I know my true self is the greates trickster there is (and only one too lol), but how it managed to pull that one on me is, quite literally, beyond me. -

Is this "no free will" something you have heard or something you have realized? You have exactly the amount of free will you feel like you have, everything else is stories. So if you feel you decide stuff, you do! No problem here. In the future that feeling might be revealed to be illusory, but until then why worry about it. There is no point to anything, something having a point is a mirage of the mind. -

Just hopped on the Kriya train a few days ago. Question: When practicing ujjayi pranayama, I'm a bit confused. The book describes it as an inhale and an exhale trough the nose, but the picture instructs breathing trough the mouth? I searched youtube and found guides showing different variations, like in trough the nose and out trough the mouth, mouth only and nose only. What is "the correct" way to do it, without sliding into experimenting mode? Also it's hard to understand "the sound" you are supposed to make. I think I got it right with nose only, but yeah... what's the deal here? -
First Carrol (scientist) gets a say, and then Wallace (the Buddhist guy). After listening Wallace's reply to Carrol, my first thought was "how is he ever going to recover from that..." But he does, of course, as it's not about the strength and clarity of the arguments, it's about the receivers inability to make a solid bridge between open mindedness and critical thinking. He thought he understood what Wallace was saying, but actually he completely missed the biggest, the most central point he was trying to deliver, that he spent all that time building his case for. Carrol points out lots of interesting insights and points of view also! He just has a temporal case of the external reality flu, that's all. Part of the reason why this is SO so hard to communicate, is in the language. Wallace accidentally gives validity to materialism with innocent sounding wordings, like "consciousness is not new stuff. It's been here long before scientist started talking about it" thus giving validity to reality beyond experience, or consciousness itself. This is where spiritual teachers come into picture. To be REALLY able to teach and talk about this, you HAVE to have a solid experience of it. And even then, it's very tricky. Definitely worth a watch! I could quote many interesting parts from here, but I think it's better to just listen to the talk.

If you teach "there is nothing to do" it will naturally guide the student to do spiritual practise. They may try the teachers "dont worry about it man" technique, only to realize that it is not working and they are left with only one option: take action. -

It was a "eyyyyy buddy how about that wakey time now?" from the universe. No one can really tell what it was. Following your intuition got you there, that might be an indicator of what you should do in the future also : ) -

From leos first spiritual enlightenment video: "reality just is and thats the end of it" -
I find it hard to really tell which of my 5 strengths are my true signature strengths. Here they are: Creativity, ingenuity, and originality Appreciation of beauty and excellence Humor and playfulness - Signature Curiosity and interest in the world Forgiveness and mercy Humor is a clear one for me, it is enforced both from the outside world and the inside, I know it's really ME. It's the only one that I'm really sure of, but I'd rank it only as my third greatest strength. What gives? Can I be better in other areas than my signature strength, or is something wrong with my ranking? What is the distinction between a strength and a signature strength? This is also hard because a part of me wants to rank some of those as signature, but I'm really trying to be as honest here as I can. If it is not obvious at first look, it is not a signature strength? Is it like if someone asks you if you love them and you hesitate even a second, it means you probably don't?

Isn't it annoying when someone undercuts you entire question with superior metaphysical understanding? Hate those kinds of know-it-alls... My take on this issue: You have only one life to spend, and psychedelics are available. Why. On. Earth you would not be interested in how it's like? Even juts once? If ones spirituality and clarity is so weak that one trip will destroy your spiritual progress, reconsider your current practices. Same with any substance. Try it once (not meaning you need to try every kind of psychedelic), see how it is. If there is value there, mine it.

I came into this thread anticipating pictures of naked Leo. Needles to say, I'm once again very disappointed in this community.

Nothing wrong with unorthodox methods. If I knew for a fact that weed + concussion would do it I would be the Johnny Knoxville of stoners. -

I have also faced this issue, it has been around 27-28C in Finland for several weeks. My advice is: EMBRACE THE HEAT!! @Nahm Is it audio? If so, can you post it plz (if you can find it ) -
That one is going to my wishlist! can you elaborate on point 2? Sounds interesting.

molosku replied to Ingit's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Ingit I can't really help you further, you must see the reality of your mind for yourself. Watch all Leos enlightenment related videos and start a serious spiritual practise. -
molosku replied to Ingit's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Ingit You don't have to do anything. Be mindful of your thought process during the day and when you notice a negative though loop, just simply drop it. Keep in mind that your thought problems and worries don't hold any substance. Im not saying you should ignore your life, Im saying don't take your thoughts so seriously. You would not say "This and that is wrong with your life, you should really reconsider your life, you are not doing your best... etc" to your friend, but internally you say it to yourself. Why? It's just insanity that we all do to some extent I can't even keep track of how many times I have recommended Eckhart Tolle's power of now here... But yeah I'm doing it again. Read it. Best book on thoughts and how to deal with them I have ever read, and doubt I will ever read. -
molosku replied to Ingit's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Just STOP! That is a made up problem that you are clinging to. Let your thoughts do what ever they want. Don't idealize your thought process, you have zero control over it. What you have is thoughts about thoughts, so you only have some silly thoughts you are too concerned about. There is no reality to your problem. -
molosku replied to Ingit's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Can you rephrase your problem? -
In the end of stage turquoise Leo mentioned that you should read at least 30 books on non-duality if you are serious about awakening. I would like to get some perspective on this. Several teachers I have studied joke/talk something along the lines of "the truth is not found in any (sacred) book". I heard a story from somewhere where Ramana told his pupils to throw their spiritual books into a river. I have had a few experiences myself where I realized how silly it was to look for myself anywhere but within. Early this summer I had an LSD/meditation induced awakening where I basically exploded out of bliss, and at that moment I thought to myself "If/when this has faded, if there is one thing I must not forget, it's this: it is within" I reached a point early on this year where I was practicing quite hard for my level, and studying theory and listening to teachers. I felt like all the knowledge was starting to be really distracting, like my monkey mind was constantly blabbering about non-dual theory. Now I have not read any non-dual books for a while nor listened to teachers and I feel like my mind is clearer and I can focus on my actual experience better. Is this a path thing, or is there some crucial value in books that I'm not getting? I understand that books can point out potential traps of the work, but... I don't know. Anyone here who has awakened and can say that books helped in that process? @Leo Gura is the only person I have encountered who has recommended extensive reading on the topic. Anyone here who has read very few books and has had success just by practicing? I'm not interested in speculation from users who have intentionally read/not read books and had awakening spiritually, sorry. You are all great but I don't think you can give much value here, as I said it's more of a speculation than an opinion from experience.
