  1. At first glance, this book seems to be mostly about teenagers, but then it struck me that it’s really about parenting. Each parent thinks they’re doing the right things in the way they raise their children. But who truly is? Ng does a good job of bringing each character to life. Izzy is the most unique of the characters. And the relationship between Izzy and Mrs. Richardson is spot on perfect. “When it came to Izzy, Mrs. Richardson was seldom calm, and for that matter, Izzy herself never was.” There are multiple storylines here, all equally fascinating. The one that grabbed me the most was between Bebe Chow and the McCulloughs. I flip flopped back and forth between whose side I was on. The heartache of both sides was palpable. It took a while for the book to truly grab me. But once it did, it really did. The title is so apt. Not just the physical fire, but the fires that burn within the characters, especially the fire that ignited in Mrs. Richardson. It’s interesting that the author refers to Mrs. Richardson by her formal name, whereas everyone else is called by their first name. It suits her perfectly, as she is such a stickler for tradition and following the rules. This is a fascinating book with a lot going for it. Five rich stars!
  2. We need to change the way we do things. We need to change our thoughts on things. We need the human interaction, human touch for the things we do. And whatever we do, we should do it passionately,.not for the sake of just doing and completing the work.
  3. Whey protein is produced from milk. The manufacturing process removes most fat and milk sugars (carbohydrates) and leaves you with a convenient powder which is packed with protein and amino acids, making it very easy to add extra daily protein to your active and sporty lifestyle. Within the whey protein category there are different types of whey protein. Whey Protein Concentrate (WPC) The amount of protein in whey protein concentrate can vary between 25-89%. Whey Protein Isolate (WPI) WPI is the purest form of whey protein available and contains between 90-95% protein. It is a good protein source for individuals with lactose intolerance as it contains little or no lactose. WPIs are also very low in fat. The cost of a WPI will be slightly higher than WPC due to the purity and higher protein content. Hydrolyzed Whey Protein The long protein chains in the whey protein have been broken down into shorter chains called peptides. This makes the whey protein more easily absorbed by the body and may reduce the potential for allergic reactions. Hydrolyzed whey protein is often used in infant formulas and sports and medical nutrition products. Hydrolysis does not reduce the nutritional quality of the whey protein. Is it safe? Yes , make sure you buy it from a proper source. Protein buying guide? Content Budget Source Brand value How much is good for you ? 4. Consciousness is a word which is being mistreated/miss-used on a daily basis. I simply oppose the idea of consciousness as a data which we perceive throughout our life, on the other hand i would say consciousness is basically the experience which we feel & treat as reality. If you try to go deep in the concept of consciousness you may find it can not be defined as a chunk of data or entitled to any kind of entity what so ever !! Let me give you an example : When you are in deep sleep, you're alive but do not know it. Your consciousness is the factor which allows you to experience life in different forms. Such experience can be eating food/reading/playing etc. From centuries, human race tried their best to achieve a higher state of consciousness, we tried everything possible to do so such as yoga/meditation/physical exercises to achieve a single goal i.e We tried our hardest to become one with an unknown relm. What for ?? Just to find a better understanding of what we are as a human being. In my point of view consciousness can not be increased or decreased, The only thing which we can turn in our favour is that, we can increase our experience. Further more, we can only try to make peace with yourself by increasing our experience as a being.
  5. If you really want to be funny, you should make the most of what's around you; so that your humour feels natural and not contrived. You should adapt the way you think to give a slant, so that you become a funnier person in your own right, rather than to try to do an art that you're not ready for yet. We all have abilities to do certain things, but we have to learn the techniques before we can become skilled at it.
  6. First: Artist Development Take classes, workshops, find a Talent Coach, etc. Study your craft, practice every day, take it seriously. Your work ethic is as important as your talent. Second: Build relationships This doesn’t just mean “networking.” It means building actual friendships with people. People want to work with their friends. This is especially true in the music and entertainment industry. Third: Build an audience If you want to be an Artist, then marketing/promotion is everything. Start by working on what you’re marketing - great image, songs, visual media, incredible live show, etc. Do your best - on your own at first - to connect with fans and give them as “personal” an experience as possible. Then, hire a publicist, manager, booking agent, and anyone else who can expose you to a larger audience. If you’re a musician who wants to be hired as a studio musician and/or touring musician, then work hard to become an amazing, versatile player, and again - build relationships. Move to a “music” city, like Los Angeles, NYC, Austin, Nashville, etc. If you’re interested in audio engineering/music production, study and master your craft, then move to a music city. You’ll likely start out on the bottom, but with great skills and a strong work ethic, you’ll move up quickly.
  7. Social Conditioning - People are afraid to do things that will make them stand out because of social conditioning. People want to be very successful while doing the exact same thing as the herd. Lack of Self - Awareness - It will be a lot more difficult to have consistent success when you cannot look at yourself objectively. Without self - awareness your relationships will fall apart, and it will be easy to make yourself a victim. Unable to Take Feedback - One time my Dad told me “Son, instead of trying to argue with someone when they give you feedback, take the time to think “Why is it that they have that impression of me?”” Pride - A lot of people won’t achieve their dreams because they are too prideful to ask for help. They don’t want to look like they don’t have the answers, so they rather not know. Shame - The path to success if riddled with failure and tough times. Many people will avoid the shame of failure at the cost of never really succeeding. The quicker that you realize shame is just an illusion created by your brain, the better you will be at accomplishing your goals. Not Willing to Move - If you live in South Dakota and you want to be a famous standup comedian, it will never happen. There are simply not enough resources, comedy clubs, other comedians to learn from, industry, etc. If you have a goal but you can’t achieve it from where you’re at MOVE. Not Understanding Momentum - I post articles everyday on my blog, it’s easy for me at this point, but if I took a week off of my blog - it would be difficult for me to start back. If I took a month off it would be even harder. Momentum applies to everything, so the more consistent you are the easier it is to do things.
  8. To find worthy goals you need to have a good understand of who you are. Do you know your values? Have you thought about a way you could contribute to the world? What is it that you are really passionate about? Here is some questions you can ask yourself to find your purpose in life. I guarantee you that if you find a purpose in life you won't be bored. - If you had all the money and time in the world what would you do? - What do you love so much that you’d pay to do it? Here is what I believe are some characteristics of worthy goals you might want to pursue in your life. Reflect your core values and are what you want, not what the society, your friends or your family want for you Truly excite you and energize you You enjoy the process that leads to those goals and not just the final outcome. “I’ll be happy when…” types of goals are not goals worth pursuing. Why not be happy now. You are acting mainly out of love and not out of fear. Let me explain what I mean by acting out of love. Acting out of love means that you are not trying to get people to like you or to try to prove anything to yourself or to others, but that you just want them to be happy. Feeling that you are helping people while doing what you love makes you happy. When you act out of love your main focus is on giving, when you act out of fear your main focus is on receiving(money, approval, recognition, fame, power…). It is true that desire to be famous, to be recognized and to be loved can be a powerful tool for people to motivate themselves to reach their goals. However, because people are acting out of fear, and are in fact trying to fill a lack within them through external recognition, those goals are not truly worthy goals. They reflect a sense of insecurity due to a lack of self-esteem. That’s why a seemingly successful person might be truly unhappy if he is trying to find himself in external factors like money or fame. Try to find something that you are really passionate about. What is it that you like to do so much that you forget time? How can you leverage it to serve other people. Hope it helps
