Hello, I am going on a 5-day retreat. I've rented a cabin within a garden, and during this period, there will be no communication devices, human contact, or even books. I just want to meditate and listen to myself. I've been practicing meditation for many years, but this will be my first time going on such a hardcore retreat. I have a plan that includes yoga, breathwork, meditation, psychedelics, mandala painting, playing the guitar, and writing if I feel inspired. I will not brings books because I don't want any inputs as possible. I'd like to prepare a bit in advance since I won't want to do any online research while I'm there. Considering that extended periods of meditation might be challenging, I'm thinking of incorporating yoga before the meditation sessions and interspersing them with breathwork. Since I won't be going outside, I'll also need to bring 5 days' worth of food. I'm planning on consuming minimal food, mainly focusing on vegetables and nuts but I don't have much of an idea about food. If you have any advice, experiences to share, or videos you'd like to recommend on this topic, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

No, not frozen vegetables. But I think the vegetables I bring will start to get bad after 3 days. So I plan to bring dry fruits and nuts. -

@De Sade @Salvijus this is a good idea. I will do some research on this topic. However, do you have any suggestions about what I can eat when I do eat? I am somewhat underweight and not very interested in food. But still, I'm wondering if, for example, avoiding carbohydrates altogether or having a lack of protein might cause issues for me. -
Hi, I am meditating since (almost) 2 years and visualizing for a couple of months. I see both of them as beneficial. But a thought is grinding in my head since I have a visualization habit which I do right after my meditation sessions. When I meditate I expect to be: - Fully present, Not be in the past or the future - Not forcing my mind to do anything, no thoughts - Not trying to be something or someone, allowing to accept myself or whatever I feel about myself But when I visualize I am: - Fully on the future - Forcing my mind to create a vision. thoughts are on - Trying to be something that I create on my mind which is basically not me right now It seems like they are opposite kind of works to me. Sometimes I feel I am trying to do what I avoid on other one with my mind. But the suprising thing to me is I see some people think they are "meditating" while they are actually "visualizing" (or manifesting) Or they somehow combine them, even sell them or see them very closely. What do you think about this issue? Are they contradict with each other? or opposite?

So how do you observe how time works? Once I lost my sense of time with psychedelics, but not through meditation -

There could be many discussions about it but don't forget the importance of just going with it. If you create your set up and directly start working everyday even if you don't like it, you will be much more likely to get that creative flow state. And you can't predict when will it be, so you have to have as many shots as possible if you are an artist. Psychedelics are enhancing creativity for sure, but I didn't make art on psychedelics yet, maybe because trips was too powerful. I will try microdosing for this. I am not sure about how meditation affects it but I think it has positive effect since it grows my consciousness and dissolve my ego. But on the other hand I have to swim between ideas and thoughts to create. David lynch talks a lot about it. I would like to hear ideas of you guys about this too. Maybe do nothing technique would be effective on this. -

From my personal experience, there were no arising thoughts while I experience my most powerful meditative moments. So my answer is more like "no" But they were mostly between the crazy thought storm moments. -

I think Shin answered this: Still "simply observing while your thoughts arise" and "forcing your mind to think about a future situation" seems very seperate to me. -

Yes I agree with you on that, but I couldn't find any other way to describe. Actually it is not what I expect from "during" a meditation session but from the meditation in a long run. Thank you for your beautiful explanation, but one more thing came to my mind: What about the ego? Meditation surely dissolves your ego and your attachment to it, But when you visualize about the things YOU want, (money, career whatever) wouldn't it feed your ego? Maybe they both work together like "first dissolving your current ego and building another one which will be more useful".. Btw, I don't discuss them as spiritual or metaphysical things, I wonder more about psychological side. -

Yes but all that overthinking is also arising now. So there must be a difference between meditation and just thinking stuff -

@Dodo In my opinion, there is a ton of misconception about LOA. I think LOA is not a magic tool that gives what you want metaphysically to you (as they mentioned in "the secret") You just have to be a person that will be suitable to what you want to get. There are millions of details that will lead you to your goal but you are not aware all of them. It is all about who you are, your mindset and how you see events. And it's mostly happening on your subconscious mind. LOA helps you to change those things for you to become the person who can reach those goals. For example, once you believe you are a succesful business man, you start to see business opportunities everywhere, go out and chase customers, be more confident etc. When It works it almost feels like it's magical. But if you are at a opposite state of mind, you see only obstacles and negativitiy at the exact same positions. Again, this is just my opinion, I can't be sure if it works metaphysically or not. -
@Serotoninluv Sounds interesting Thank you for your ideas

Hi, I used psychedelics (lsd) 3 times before. And I am into meditation, psychology and personal development for a long time. My trips was really good, but I couldn't get what I want; which is solving some of my problems, knowing myself better and defining a way for my artistic career. I set up pretty good environment, empty my whole day, meditate, doing yoga etc. and write down the things I want to solve. But when I look those writings, nothing extraordinary came to my mind, I tried to meditate more while tripping but everything became so empty so I played some music and strated observing around. So I think maybe there should be techniques to work on those things. Do you have any advice? Or am I pushing too much? Should I just relax and wait them to come spontaneously?

@Serotoninluv Wow, so you have psychedelic teachers. What do you study and where are you?

@TheAvatarState Visuals seemed really pleasant and saturation was clearly higher than normal. I looked outside from my window (we live in relatively nature based location) and trees was really alive and I felt how they dance with the wind together. I looked at mirror and my face was really weird but it was so fun to watch how my face changes I watched my face for over 1 hour My hand seemed like a limb of an animal and my hair was like alive. But I didn't see anything so extraordinary, like hallucination etc. The interesting thing to me, at the first trip; I was seeing crazy colorful patterns when I close my eyes, at the second trip: little weird creatures, but at the third time, I saw nothing when I close my eyes. Just blank empty space. Also my strongest trip was the third one. Do you have any idea about it?
-
@TheAvatarState Thank you I used 120ug (as they told me, I'm not sure) and it feels just right to me for now. I didn't went crazy and it was pretty strong at the same time.

@FoxFoxFox Thank you, I am also interested in enlightenment but I have to arrange some stuff on my life first. I will definetely take your advice into account. Do you think lsd can lead enlightenment experiences or you need something like DMT or ayauhasca? Because this is what can I find right now.

@Pure Imagination Thanks a lot for your detailed explaniton, Helped a lot

@Nahm I will try to notice and trust. I can estimate what you are pointing but you see, it's a bit complicated for someone who is just started psychedelics so still I need to set what I should do. (at least before the trip) Otherwise I just can watch tv shows or go to parties with psychedelics which will lead to a terrible experience

@okulele @Highest Thanks a lot!

@Highest Thanks a lot for your advice. But what do you recommend to do while surrendering? Just sitting on a couch? lying down while listening music? meditation? or whatever I desire at that moment? or it doesn't matter?

@Nahm Thank you, I will try
