DnoReally replied to Leo Gura's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Is the numbness in my limbs, my legs in particular, something I will have to live with or does the body adjust to this after some time? Im pretty sure its not harmful but very distracting in the concentration part. -

@Shu Normally the book states quite clearly what 1 round is. Just read through steps. Doing x rounds will take you around 5 minutes, it's more of an estimate than a rule to obey. -

@Leo Gura Little off-topic, but would you (or anyone else who knows) mind linking me the yoga-cuchion that you showed in your video? -

I just got my book today and wanted to start immediately. How did you guys go on about this? It feels like the breathing technique (Lesson 2) is really easy and more like a warm up than a practice in and of itself. Did you just "skip" and integrated further lessond into your routine? If not, what might be an indicator that I have fully "mastered" Nadi Sodhana -

Oh boy I remember watching my first actualized.org video back in fall 2014 as a fix for some stupid, petty problem I had with myself. I don't even want to imagine what person I would have become, if i hadn't clicked on that 1 hour video of my favourite bald guy.

@Leo Gura Do you have an opinion on Jordan Peterson? If so, do you mind sharing?

@Leo Gura Are there any good books covering this topic of Naive realism vs "Why Brains Do Not Exist"-type of non dual perspective? Or are all your episodes on this the results of psychedelics and your own experiences? -
@Leo Gura What is the alternative? I mean, you might think it's an arbitrary division to say that science and mysticism aren't the same, but what really is the alternative? It has brought us tremendous wealth and lifted millions of people out of poverty. Scientific arrogance and the belief that science holds, that it will one day be able to explain the world rationally might bother youy but so what? As long as they deliver results that deal with peoples lower needs on maslows pyramid I'm perfectly fine with the scientific paradigm. Yet I don't really understand the point you often make about evolution, hope there's a video covering this topic soon
-
But science needs these metaphysical assumptions. If it hadn't every scientist would be just like you or a yogi, exploring consciousness and the metaphysical. I actually like the scientific paradigm and its assumptions, because they are reliable and work in the physical world. They are practical and should remain the way they are in order to maintain our rate of progress. Mysticism and science are not two seperate approaches to the same problem, they in fact deal with two non-overlapping parts of reality, and thats's the issue. I don't give a fuck what sadhguru says about the physical universe or what richard dawkins says about consciousness.

I'm a poor af student, could you, as some kind of special offer, give me the first letter of some of the books. Would be very appreciated, ty
