Again, muchos gracias for the post @PetarKa because it points beyond the wormhole. This is the best description I have found of whether or not the square root of 2 is infinite... https://broodsphilosophy.wordpress.com/2007/09/16/is-square-root-of-2-infinite/ Like all 'understanding' it is limited although it also arises the question as to what exactly is infinite? And do we have the potential to truly grasp it beyond recognition, and despite recognition is it infinite at all???

There is no gap between enlightenment and being, which is why it is so hard to grasp when a gap is inherent to our conditioning. -
Ok, so I am an idiot right Can someone please clarify if the square root of 2 is an infinite number or is it odd or even? If it is infinite then is it an irrational statement to say it is odd or even? Or is it neither irrational or non irrational because there is no way for 'human' consciousness to grasp it? Based on the assumption that the square root of 2 is infinite x infinite then would that go a way to explain why we see 2 in infinite squared, which begs the question, what is the 'other' infinite? Cool post

@Wouter bring your attention to what is happening internally within you, whether reading a book or 'over thinking'. Watch the thoughts themself instead of attaching to them. Where do they arise from? Try and do this without judgement always. The answer is within you.
-
@Socrates the problem isn't that an opinion is formed, it is the attachment to that opinion that causes difficulties as it causes one to close down to other opinions and ideas. Thoughts come and thoughts go, like clouds in the sky, yet the sky remains unchanged, it remains clear. There is a great Einstein quote that says something like "there are only 2 things that are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I am not even sure about the universe". This is what allowed him to push the boundaries of his beliefs so he could go beyond them, because he recognised that he did not know for certain for one, as well as the fact that stupidity is inherent to the human condition.

Where does thought arise? It doesn't really matter what the actual thought is to be honest. Ask also, what is thought? Mind likes the attention, lol. You clearly have a strong intent and drive, use that to earnestly seek answers and you will understand exactly what I am talking about. I can't tell you as you have to discover for yourself, but I guarantee the answer is within you, and it is not what you think.
-
@kieranperez every thing that you do, every thought that you have, it is all you. Mind tries to shift blame and push fault on to 'others' but the fact is it is all you. This is undeniable. Askmyourself what that I know about anyone, isn't a thought that arises in I? Even the thought that they have blue eyes is your thought isn't it? So the problem then isn't actually being 100% responsible, the problem is that you do not see that you are 100% responsible already. But what if there was no you?

Cool thought bubble @Pure Imagination What is the difference between an empty cup and one without a bottom? -
@Damir Elezi are you responsible for placing fault/blame? So who really is at fault?

I used to use Psychedelics a bit when I was younger and had some pretty good experiences, and some not so good. Is just not for me and don't see that I need them as I see without them so why change that. That is not to say that I don't find the DMT molecule completely fascinating. Maybe for no reason in particular I have a natural occurrence without having to ingest, which is a joke amongst some of my friends, lol. ? I do use mdma a couple of times a year as I enjoy connecting with my partner and friends in an enhanced warm and open way though, and it is fun when you are performing music. ? -
I am interested in what thoughts may arise as to how one can eradicate preconceived ideas when faced with any given situation so that what is experienced is not clouded by past experience, and thus express the self nakedly, beyond the conditioning of a past experience. For example I always thought that B has always annoyed me, so when I interact with them I always enter the situation with an attitude that makes it easier to be annoyed in that situation. (You can use what every experience or example you like here)

Your life is meaning itself @OnceMore , each breath something to be celebrated and rejoiced. It is the same for everyone. That is a pretty good place to start. There is a freedom in enjoying what appears to be mundane. Think Gahndi cotton spinning. the point is anything you do, put everything in tomit, and have gratitude in the moment for what you are doing as it is perfect.

A concept is a concept is a concept is a concept........ This is a beautiful realisation to follow as it shows an idea caving in on itself, and deconstructing before your very eyes. The problem is as Leo points to is that mind needs an explanation, but the problem for mind is that there is no explanation to be found, which is the a-ha (hahahahahahaha) moment. That is the joke and the complete crux of what it is and why most don't get it because they think it is some-thing. That is why thinking it is some-thing, including enlightenment, will always fail. Truth is unknowing.

Thanks @Nahm Psychedelics are not my path though as I have those sort of experiences naturally through self enquiry and surrender. For example the day that it all dropped away and "I" "became" "enlightened", that many things happened, all because I decided to go at the pace of a 3 year old and let her dictate the adventure. In the physical world primitive drawings appeared in the park when it hit (which is just one example), that only I and my daughter saw but the kicker was in the afternoon at a game of lawn bowls we had arranged a perfect triangle of light appeared in the sky, that my partner first recognised, and everyone who was there was in complete and utter awe of. The dreams and natural arising experiences "before" and "after" are akin to some DMT experiences from what I have read, and had conversations with friends who use DMT as a tool. I have gone completely off topic but I remember reading a story about Ramana Maharshi being given a dose of LSD by I think Ram Dass and he remained completely untouched by it as his awareness was that pure. Whether the story is real or not I don't know but the thought is interesting. -

Apart from the appearance of an apparent physical body, what that you know about the so called unconscious people is not a thought that arises within you. What does that reveal? To be truly conscious one must appear as water, that is unbreakable, and has the ability to fit in any situation, clear and refreshing. No judgement allowed... -

That is awesome, thanks @Nahm , there has been a strong calling of late to drop glutton and I have seriously cut back on sugar, so got to give it up to you for tuning in on that. I already keep pretty fit and love excercise because it is conducive to being completely aware in , the moment. I just went for a 3 hr Nike ride with my kids and partner which was pure joy. To be perfectly up front and honest the reason I started this thread is I am trying to scrape away all unnecessary residue, so I can be completely free of any preconception at all, that includes the idea that I am enlightened, which has been harder to let go of than the initial drop. The reason being that despite many people being aware of ..... I don't encounter many people who are fully free of residue and thus live as pure awareness, untouched by anything, surrounded by belief towers that guard their egos. I personally lived like that for about a year when it all fell away about 10 years ago, but after desire kicked in again I watched the residue slowly build up again, as this super enlightened ego was birthed from the experience to be able to touch even sceptics with a gentle calmness and conciseness that was pure magic, especially given it was rooted in the absolute acceptance of no-me. Sure plenty of people are aware and awake, like myself, and yes there is no-thing-at-all to find, but I am being called deeper at the moment, and as we do, I chase the imaginary carrot, with gratitude and acceptance of what is unfolding, and know that it is completely beyond my control, without judgement. -
That is what the mind does, it compartmentalises this and that and tries to keep them seperate, despite the fact that all apparent aspects of self arise within you naturally, so they will never be seperate. The answer lies beyond separation, so you have to let it 'all' go to know no-thing-at-all. In other words, you have to go all in if you want to lose it all, to gain it all, which in an of it self is no-thing-at-all and is completely ordinary. Consider this also if compelled; what if I told you that all those people that you see as undesirable or dysfunctional are actually you also. How? Do not all thoughts about them arise within you? What that you know about anyone is not a thought that arises within you? That is why self enquiry no matter what mask it wears is so useful, because it gets right to the root of the cause. Emaho

You are preaching to the converted @Joseph Maynor ? No projection here, nor an attachment to free will (or determinism for that matter), nor anyone to hate or try and lower in my mind so I may feel higher. Yes all is illusion, nothing is real, all is enlightened, it is as it is. No arguments here. Awareness always tells you what you need, there is no right and wrong, just the loving grace of Gods word in its perfection, thanks for the reminder and insight. -

Thanks @Joseph Maynor , I have been blessed (or cursed depending on your perspective and conditioning, lol) with a pretty empty field of thought..... I was just responding to your post and saw your 2nd reply. And yes I did think that what you posted although useful, was not exactly what I was looking for as this has already been realised. Living with complete naked awareness is not something I have been able to completely and consistently resolve though which is why I posted, which honestly was compelled by what I see here that there are some thoughts bubbling up on this site that resonate with what I have experienced so..... Really appreciate your input.
