  1. Speaking only for myself it's mostly Leo's attitude annoys even when he's mostly right...the smug way he talks especially about things that hit me hard personally is a turn off for me. But that's mostly my own issue to deal with because I've gained tremendous value from his content even bought the life purpose course.
  2. @Shiva There are a lot of hype articles and books out there but if you read the papers and look at the state of the industry and research right now then the huge gap between fantasy and reality becomes apparent. There are a lot of mundane and boring problems to solve before even the current algorithms can work completely autonomously. It doesn't help that the researchers are so focused on getting better accuracy on random benchmarks so they do minor deviations from current architectures and don't look to genuinely innovate. The man power that goes into each of those architectures like alpha goes is so astronomically high that it's ridiculous to claim that AI will soon replace human beings in everything.
  3. @Shiva Not really there are a lot of AI assisted technology but there are few things that AI can completely replace humans in this day. We are nowhere near bein able to replace AI Engineers and as a data scientist you should know that.... most AI algorithms were developed decades ago the main thing that changed is that we have way more computational power..you could argue that Deep RL shows potential but even that is still in it's infancy and the act of constructing the right policy and enviroment is still a huge pain in the ass, so is data cleaning, feature engineering, and keeping the data from rotting etc. etc.
  4. Yo I'm from Frankfurt I'd be down for a meetup.
  5. @Nahm What a coincidence I was also looking to get into reiki can you maybe do a post or journal on your experiences?
  6. @Joseph Maynor I think if you look closely you can find plenty of situation where your habitual response is that of a much lower stage even if you have a paradigm shift your unconscious coping mechanisms and habits stay unaffected in my personal experience.
  7. I get what you are saying I felt like that for a long time too. I felt that he was always moving the goal post. At first mindfulness meditation was what would get you to enlightenment then the fastest way was strong determination sitting then contemplation then what absolutely needed to be done was psychedelics and kriya yoga. Now I kinda look at the videos for motivation but I don't let them guide me because ironically the biggest distraction for me to getting a consistent practice was Leos videos.
  8. @Leo Gura Searchable tags on each post would be cool but that would be a lot of work I guess. So putting each video in a rough category would be enough I think.
  9. @Leo Gura This is Off topic but I don't know where else to post it. Can you maybe think about restructuring the blog it's becoming hard to find stuff on there.
  10. It's kinda weird the myers-briggs model has pretty much already been debunked but for some reason it really does track my personality quite well. I used to test as an INTP but after a lot of doing heart centered stuff I now test as INFP. That is a change I already noticed in me and at each time I can primarily identify with mostly one of the types which so yea.
  11. @MM1988 Oh I see then those books might not be what you are looking for because their point of view is that you don't need to get to the bottom of your psyche to rid yourself of the shadow.
  12. I second loving what is by byron katie and another one I'm loving is sedona method both are simple that's why after a while you find yourself just using them without thinking much about it. I've also heard good about taming your gremlin.
  13. Yes, I noticed that as well but I have issues being able to differentiate genuine insight into deeper matters that can manifest as knowledge about the relative realm. Take for instance most spiritual gurus make really strong statements about psychedelics does that come understanding of very nuanced stuff or not.( for instance some claim that psychedelics mess with your subtle energies )
  14. That is too simplistic of a view...different people have different root issues in their life. Yea being addicted to meat is probably a problem but it's not THAT big of a problem for me because I'm mentally and physically relatively healthy. On the other hand porn and masturbation is at the root of very deep rooted problems in my life, so prioritizing and wisely picking my battles becomes important to actually fix problems and not just philosophize about them. But if someone is obese and his weight is causing the most problems then maybe for them it makes more sense to fix that before or if ever addressing porn. And some people have no real problem with porn at all. If all addictions are interconnected and build a web then every web looks differently with different central nodes(nodes that are connected to most or all other nodes) those are the leverage points in the web and then it becomes unnecessary to try to fix every single addiction manually which is an impossible task.
  15. ... could ask when it was a grape no more what would that grape ask? Was I tasty? Was I not? In the same vein what would a human ask when he was human no more? Did I matter? Did I not?
  16. @i am I AM This is actually my very first attempt at writing something like a poem. I think one of the theme is about how the potential or value of life is only known after it's over but the one to actually know it is gone and can't even ask about it's value. Another one is about perspective I guess because if a grape could talk would it actually be concerned with it's taste or would it be more concerned with you know staying a grape and not be eaten...it makes sense I swear It's just hard to express it.
  17. @Violinpracticerdude That question is literally the thing everybody here is trying to figure out.
  18. @Violinpracticerdude materialist paradigm is the belief that physical stuff is the very fundamental thing that reality is made out of everything else emerges if you smash different physical stuff together taking to it's hight you get the large hadron collider ( I'm only partly joking). I don't really see where the problem with psychedelics is. Take a bunch of psychedelics responsibly and you will see how much truth there is to any claim made so straight forward and easy. Oh yea he loves taking a piss at science but I suspect it's mostly to trigger people. Well science studies the material world but cannot know what anything is. It can only measure it's attributes and effects it has on other material stuff, right? So if you take the position that there is a more fundamental level than the physical then basically that would mean that science could study what it studies excellently but to get to what's actually true you would need other tools.
  19. Tried a whole pack of 15g and barely noticed anything had some creativity going on and food tasted really amazing but apart from that...nothing.
  20. This is fucking retarded and a waste of time. There is no way to actually know except to walk the walk. I mean I can picture how a discussion between the two of them would go: Leo would argue that whatever experiences the guy had were pretty incomplete and basic and that he should do some psychedelics and also that he is stuck in the materialistic paradigm Leo would then proceed to shit on science. The guy would then turn around and straw man Leo's positions and argue that Leo is just basically making this all up and that there is no scientific evidence.
  21. Yea I use rapé and it's amazing. I usually do it together with kundalini yoga because it makes me feel emotions quite vividly or with kriya yoga but that is quite scary because sometimes I feel a kind of blandness and emptiness that is quite persistent and not the good kind... TL;DR rapé is quite powerful but you have to take it in the right context.
  22. It probably means that you should focus MORE on shadow work. Shadow work is everything from talk therapy to homework your psychologist gives you.
  23. I'm excited for you even just reading this If you haven't, take the life purpose course it's really good and I hope you will be more sure. But to me that sounds like an unique and cool life purpose!
  24. But it's reliant on Google's platform right? The metadata of your videos together with the viewing habits of the viewers is used for Google's purposes.
  25. Why so black and white? I can be relativistic on some issues that concern me and on others I'm not when I notice it or it gets pointed out to me I make it my task not to only take the relative position but to also embody it as much as possible. Obviously I still fail in most cases because I still have an ego that's alive and kicking and that implies that me trying to see things from all perspectives means that there is a me who is fixed looking at things from different perspectives.
