I see it similar as you. I think Biden looks competent and presidential to moderates. Biden’s strategy isn’t to prosecute Trump with left grievances. It’s to look like a decent, competent, moderate “return to normal”. Biden had some good moments in which he spoke directly to voters. I kinda like that he didn’t give a lot of credence to Trump and called him things like “a clown”. Trump looks like he is going all in on his right wing base. He was really hot. I don’t think moderates will be impressed. How does Trump look to those suburban women he needs? Trump is the one who needed to change the trajectory. I don’t think he did it. I’m seeing some Republicans saying that it was bad on both sides and a food fight - pushing for the narrative of a tie, usually means they are confident in the performance.

@Recursoinominado I'm not saying that there is no violence on the left - I'm saying that the man in the original video was not under threat of a lynching and you are misusing the term "lynching". You are re-contextualizing what I am writing into a different narrative. We should not derail this thread. If you would like to continue the conversation, do so via PM with me.

@Recursoinominado Blue white washes history and steals the suffering of real victims to play pretend victim. Green tells a more accurate account of history. The man in the video above was nowhere near a real lynching. Below is what real lynchings look like.

Keep in mind that in U.S. debates, the "winner" is often the one who exceeded expectations. There will be enormous efforts to frame the winner during and after the debate. Most people have already made up their mind, yet if one candidate fails far short of expectations, they can be framed as the loser and that can capture several news cycles. The Trump team has been portraying Biden as a senile man with dementia, so the expectations were super low. Recently, Trump's team has created the narrative that Joe is senile, yet is on cognitive PEDs. They are trying to increase the expectations for Joe. I'm not sure if it will work though. If Joe pulls off a decent performance, I think it would be hard to say it was the adderall talking. Yet Trumpers would certainly believe that. Also in high profile political debates, there is about a 10% chance of a candidate having such a bad moment that it essentially ends their campaign - such as Marco Rubio. Yet the country is so polarized on Trump, it would have to be something really really bad. I think the biggest issue for Biden is whether he can keep his cool. Trump will likely try to personally attack Joe to get under his skin. The moderators often encourage that because its good for ratings. In the past, Joe has gotten frustrated / angry and looks bad. Imo, Joe looks his best when he comes across as a composed, stoic, decent guy.

@Knowledge It's seems like it should be so simple - just in and out. Yet there can be a lot of skill involved.

I'm not talking about mask type of 'hiding'. I'm talking about toxic corporate and political power hiding in the shadows as their harm and try to hide the harm they cause - in the name of more power and profiteering. I don't think you are appreciating the power dynamic here. Penniless people with no power are not the biggest threat. The toxic plutocrats are far more dangerous. That's why they want us to focus on a harmless mentally unstable woman. Plutocrats love to pit poor people against poor people - then they are all distracted in a culture war. They don't fool me. I can see them. Imagine someone walks up to you, yell profanities and you walk away unharmed. You never see them again. It was an annoying encounter, yet no big deal. Now imagine a corrupt politician steals money that was to be used to improve the water system in your community. Now, everyone in the community is drinking toxic water and don't even know it because the politician was super sneaky about stealing the money, paid off other politicians and blackmailed politicians to keep quiet. Years later, you and many people in your community have neurological disorders from toxic water. Who would you be more upset with: the crazy lady who yelled a few curses at you, or the corrupt politician that stole your tax money, let you drink contaminated water and caused you neurological disorders? White collar Orange crime can be as violent as Red level crime - it's just a different expression. White collar crime is done in the shadows, that is one reason it is so ruthless. It's one of the problem's with toxic capitalism and plutocracy. And there harm isn't limited to the U.S. Neo-cons and Neoliberals support wars that harm foreign societies, including Latin America. The woman who seems crazy does not have much power to harm others through oppression, exploitation and warmongering. That damage has been carried out primarily by white men in corporate and politics. And it's poor form to create false equivalencies that steal the suffering from others. Those that were lynched, were innocent people that lacked power that were violently killed by racists with power. This businessman is nowhere near getting lynched in this video. The victims of lynchings were innocent black people that got brutalized by racist white people. White collar wealthy men with the power to exploit others are not the victims. (I don't know this specific man, I'm speaking in big picture terms).

Healthy Blue calling out Toxic Blue. Feels like a doing a full body detox.

The structure isn't bullshit, the content within the structure is bullshit. The left could use the PragerU structure to produce quality educational content that are easily comprehended by normies.

Forestluv replied to SS10's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@SS10 Because dream/hallucination = real. We create distinctions. Generally, when a mind is stuck on the 'real' side of duality, we point to show the 'dream/hallucination' side of the duality (because the mind can already see the 'real' side). Then the tendency of the mind is to say "wait a minute if it's dream/hallucination, how can this real part not be real?". The mind tends to operate in opposites - that it must be either dream/hallucination or real. This gives the mind a handle to hold onto and stability. Yet upon enough scrutiny the whole thing deconstructs/collapses to Nothing. Then we can create new constructs about dream/hallucination and realness from scratch. Kinda like a dry erase board. We can create all sorts of images, then erase the board to being blank and then drawing new images. We can create all sorts of different dream, hallucination, real as well as different degrees of dreamness and realness. This can feel very foreign, uncertain and ungrounded to a mind at first - yet after a while it becomes normal and fun to play with form and formless. And a 'person' carries around an I.D. card verifying the 'person'. That's next level weird. -
I would make a distinction with the term "need". We could say there are inherent human needs as well as being needy. For example, eating is an inherent human need. It would be odd to ask "how can you meet your need to eat without being dependent on food to meet that need?". That is very different than saying "How can I reduce my neediness for validation, acceptance and attention - such that I have high self esteem, self acceptance and self love?" Or, "How can one meet their need for human companionship while in isolation?".

I’ve found psychedelics to be a terrible personal development tool. Their value for me is trans-personal. If I go into a trip thinking I’m going to enter another world and pull out some ‘goodies’ for my personal life, I will be disappointed.

Within this creation, sure. I don’t disagree. This gets into what is ‘real’ and what is ‘imagined’. We can assign ‘realness’ (actual) to the creation if we like. Or we can call it imaginary. I’m cool either way since they both deconstruct to the same thing. In the context of consciousness insights, ‘you’ are tapping into one of The Biggies that allows new explorations and relating to reality. Few human minds pass through this gate. In this area, I prefer to hold the intellectual handles loosely. -
Forestluv replied to Someone here's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
According to your description of reality, sure. Lisa Cairns occasionally talks about a similiar construct of reality as the one ‘you’ are creating (in this context, aka what is appearing). Good stuff. -

A human construct that has evolutionary and practical value. -

Contrast the original Blue team ad with Green team ad. A very different orientation.

@Mannyb I think the country is hyper polarized into binary Us vs Them conflicts of opposition. I was really hoping Bernie could win and we could transcend that. My hope at this point is there is a change at election. With new leadership, there can be a shift of the Overton window. Things like Proud Boys can become fringe and marginalized again, allowing some space for consciousness evolution.
-
@Mannyb Then leave that part out. Why show them LP ads they will reject? Show them ads about patriotism, dignity, integrity, honor etc. If you are saying they are 100% loyalists to Trumpism, they may be behind hope. The door needs to be open at least a tiny bit. If the door is locked shut and barricaded, there is no getting through. People literally refused to look through a telescope to see the existence of the planets for themselves. Leo covered this in his open-mindedness video.
-
You asked for good political ads. The LP has put out many effective ads for conservatives with string conservative values like honor, dignity, integrity, military, patriotism - the vast majority of LP ads have nothing to do with BLM. I’m referring to LP ads, not trying to convince conservatives to join the LP organization.
-
@Mannyb To persuade Trump conservatives, I’d recommend the Lincoln Project. They are a group of conservatives against Trump. There is also a website with regular republicans theat voted for Trump, explaining why they will not do so again. Haelathy Blue / Low Orange talking to unhealthy Red / Blue is more persuasive than Green speak.

Social media Memes spread through social consciousness, just as Clare Graves described - even before the concept of an internet existed.

I think Zuck and FB execs should consider their role in social harm and violence. Allowing white washing of the Ant Hill Kids is much different than allowing white washing of Nazism.
