It’s a relative model for ease of conversation. Don’t get caught up in the model. To say eveyone is on the same developmental conscious level is incorrect in a relative world. How can we help people raise their consciousness is the underlying question for me. I’m cool with using any tool to help matters.

I did not say you are limited to scientific quantification. Hiw would you become aware of your own unconscious biases?

That doesn’t answer the question. You seem to be giving an absolute answer to a relative problem. “Be the Change” is the type of bumper sticker I saw when I lived in Santa Cruz. Yet, what exactly does it mean and how does “be the change” help bring awareness to unconscious and systemic racism?

@Jack River That is easy to say from a high conscious state of mind. Yet the reality is that low conscious mind states exist and we are trying to help raise consciousness. Help us out. How would you help raise the consciousness of a defensive Orange level being?

Neural imaging trying yo detect unconscious biases is getting better and bette - including racism. I know this is a limited materialist approach, yet I think this type of science would help bridge the gap from Orange to Green. Orange loves science and once there is a scientific consensus of the neurolgy of unconscious racism, it will convince a lot of Orange level deniers. And those that score high on unconcious biases tests, score low on conscious biases tests. They are unawre that they are biased.

@Sockrattes I would consider judgements based on racial features to be an expression of racism. Imagine Europeans coming into contact with Africans. Do you think they never used the color of their skin to distinguish “otherness”. To me, that’s one step away from saying they didn’t use physical features to distinguish themselves from rabbits.

I totally want to pull Outer up into Green. I think his Green/Yellow version would be great to help Orange advance.

Another nice defense ? If the term self inquiry is worrisome to you, do contemplation. . . From my POV, you are safe in your head and want to avoid the practice of taking a close look at your self and facing your self. It’s uncomfortable.

I’m not an expert on historical racism, yet it’s hard for me to imagine how a self would be unaware of physical feature differences as it constructed a sense of self relative to it’s own survival. Physical features of different groups is such an obvious cue for a self based on separation and survival. Do you not think there were rival tribes where each tribe thought the other tribe threatened their own survival? How did they distinguish “our tribe” from the “other tribe”? Sure they used facepaint and clothing to distinguish themselves. Yet, you don’t think physical features were ever used to distinguish? I find that hard to comprehend.

Nice defense ?. Words have relative meaning. The context is more important. If the word consciousness worries you, then use another word like awarenees, growth, development, expansion etc. which ever word you are comfortable with and will not restrict you

Oooh, I like that imagery. In Leo’s latest SD video, he added in new lines of development interconnecting the stages. Afterwards during contemplation, these new lines became interconnected with each other. All these various inputs from different dimensions appeared into a complex net. Is this along the lines of the Diamond imagery?

I think physical features are one way to distinguish US vs THEM. There are other ways as well (nationality, language etc).

It is your responsibilty to discover this through a practice of meditation, self inquiry, direct experince, contemplation etc. It is not the responsibility of someone else to explain it to you in your terms and to your satisfaction. Fortunately, Leo does explain these fundamental issues in his 65 principles. If you want to evolve higher, start there. Watch the video with an open mind.

Blue has a simple hierarchy: US (moral) and THEM (immoral).

I think Green is where racism begins to dissolve. Yet, unhealthy Green can demonize lower stages and have nuanced forms of racism. Yet, it is *much* less than Orange and below. Major values of Green are equality, multiculturalism and inclusion. Yet, one can experience growing pains through this stage. Becoming aware of my unconscious biases and white privilege was very uncomfortable at times and I experienced a lot of resistance entering and evolving through Green. Yet, a Green mode of being is sooo liberating. It is so much more fulfilling than Orange. One of my resistances to Yellow was I didn’t want to leave the beauty of Green. Yelliw appeared as so cold.

Have you watched the 65 principles video? From my POV, you have a lot of blocks which Leo discusses in this video. Getting bogged down into an argument of whether band aids are racist is distracting you from deeper fundamental issues going on. It’s not about the band aids. It’s deeper than that.

Yea, racism is most prevalent stage Orange and below. It begins to dissolve at stage Green. For example, a person won’t be able to acknowledge or explore their own subconscious biases until stage Green.

Also watch Leos video on 65 principles. If you want to evolve higher, it is *your* responsibility to explore other perspectives and expand your awareness. It is not the responsibility of someone else to “prove” it to you.

Imagine a person’s developmental level is a binary mode of thinking. They cannot undertand spectral thinking. For example, they see each person as a “good” or “bad” person. They cannot see that people can be on a spectrum of good and people can be a mixture if good and bad. This person yells “show me spectrums with bimodal evidence!!”. How would we explain spectrums within a bimodal mode of thinking? We can’t. We would be limited to “either / or” thinking and spectrums are beyond either /or. The person will need to become aware if their limitation and let go of their bimodal thinking, then become aware of spectral thinking. Similarly, a rationalist is limited to reason, objectivism and logic. They demand logical evidence for post-logical modes.They demand objective evidence for relativity, They demand material evidence fir the immaterial. To develop higher, they need to become aware of their limitation, let go, then become aware of higher modes.

Cancer is a developmental process that includes a collection of mutations that confer new behaviors to the cell line, including: disregulated cell division, immune system evasion, angiogenic stimulation, metastais, anti-apoptosis.

You don’t understand what I mean by “facts” and “evidence”. What I mean is that you are asking someone to prove higher level modes of thinking/being with lower level modes of thinking being. One cannot ask for logic to prove a trans-logical mode. What would happen if you let go of your definition of systemic racism and genuinely inquired about it’s assumptions? What if you let go your attachment and identification with this definition and opened yourself up to explore and expand your your consciosness in this area?

This is *extremely* difficult to do with a mind that is locked into a perspective and defensive. This is one of the most important skills to develop at the Yellow level to help pull people up the spiral. Yet, it is a very difficult skill to develop. I think Emerald has developed this skill well in many areas. Some minds are particularly hard to open. Also, threads aren’t just about the conflict within an individual mind in a thread. It’s not just the one user in a thread. There are many minds reading this thread that are open to progressing upward through these resistances. Emerald isn’t just speaking to Outer, she is speaking to other minds reading this thread, but not comnenting. This can help raise the average consciousness on the forum.
