@Anderz Beautiful, my friend ? What you shared brings to mind a few ideas. . . In terms of brain activity, I think there is an over-emphasis on molecular interactions (such as neurotransmitters) and an under-emphasis on electrical/magnetic/energetic. Electrical/magnetic is a “thing” just like molecules are a “thing”. They can both “do stuff” and get shit done. For example, changes in electrical membrane potential in neurons have an enormous effect. Traditionally, neuroscientists have focused in proximal influences of electrical dynamics. For example, the local kinetics of electrical gradients within mitochondria. I like the ideas that you bring up. It’s a more expansive view than the contracted view of a typical neuroscientist. How does the electrical dynamics of the heart effect “intelligence”? Could this be a form of body intelligence? A type of information processing center? And how might electrical dynamics of the heart be integrated yo activity in the brain? . . . When we expand beyond the individual, it seems to get even more intriguing. How do electrical/magnetic dynamics in our environment effect the electrical/magnetic dynamics in our heart and brain? And could there be social fields of electrical/magnetic dynamics that include each individual’s electric/dynamics? Could they all be inter-connected at a higher level? I’m starting to notice metaphysics and neuroscience merge. It’s super exciting and interesting. I hope we continue to explore this area of wonderment. A super cool thing is that its not all theory. One can directly experience it. It’s amazing. Better than sex ? -

Are not those visions arising Now? ? To deconstruct the illusionary nature of the timeline, observe how it works. -

@lennart Absolutely. That’s coming back home to Here and Now. It’s beautiful. -
Indeed. I’d say the top thing human mind-bodies desire.

There are other forms of morphogenetic fields in nature such as bird and fish murmurations. -

@Anderz Thank you for an integrative perspective of collective conscious from various religions. I love this type of integrated thinking. I’d also like to add that the direct experience of collective consciousness is available to each of us. I like to sit in nature or a cafe and dissolve into the collective consciousness. It can be uncomfortable at times, yet it can be pretty darn magnificent as well. ? -
Twisted hypothetical stories inquiring whether things like child rape, incest, beastiality etc. is good or bad don’t seem to yield fruitful discussion threads. There have been several recent threads discussing dualities, including the good / bad duality.

Super. That’s my point. You communicated it better than I did ?? ? -

Sure, I would enjoy integration of astrology and science. Yet beware of spurious correlations. I hope @mandyjw and @jbram2002 don’t eat margarine! ? -
That is still a relative perspective. An anthropomorphic god is commonly used by humans to create the appearance of an objective reality. That is: to make relative appear as absolute through an external god that is an objective source of meaning.
-
You seem to be conflating relative and absolute. Everything is Good in an absolute sense, yet everything is not good in a relative sense. Stealing is bad from the perspective of the person robbed, yet stealing is good from the perspective of the thief, And stealing is neither good nor bad from the perspective of a butterfly.

@SQAAD I think contemplating these sexuality / personality issues can be helpful. Yet I would focus on deconstructing and dissolving these conditioned thought stories that keep recurring. I would be careful not to build the stories even bigger and get more immersed into them.

I would let go of terms like “negative”, “positive”, “should”, “losing it”, There is simply what arises. When attachments and identifications to thoughts, stories, perspectives and feelings dissolve, a much deeper level of freedom reveals itself. . . Just observe these dynamics play out in the mind and body. What is the relationship between thoughts, perspectives and feelings? When a particular thought story arises, what impact does that have on sensations in the body? Be aware of whatever is arising now. You are not going to create a particular perspective or mindstate that will yield eternal presence. Presence is already all there is. You don’t need to go anywhere or do anything. Look around, this is it. Now this is it. Now. Now. . . There is no escape from Presence. There is attachment to a belief that “this isn’t it” and it’s supposed to be another way. -

“It is negative” is a valid perception. Yet an “it is negative” mindset is contracted within an “it is negative” mindset. At the human/personal level this creates an “it is negative” interpretation filter creating an “it is negative” perception and experience as the mind-body goes through life. -

I’m cool with exploration that includes disagreements. I’ve come across several insight nuggets from various users in the thread. ? I think it enters a nondual war zone when things become personal battles over ideas. Stuff like “I’m more enlightened than you”, “You are stupid and unenlightened”, “my mystical experience is more nondual than yours”, “you are delusional because you haven’t done psychedelics”, “you are lazy because you have done psychedelics”, “my teachers are enlightened and your teachers are delusional” . . . that kinda stuff. There are many views of the Ox. The tail, the hooves, the horns. . . -
I’ve noticed quite a bit of banter along the lines of “This is enlightenment” , “no, this is enlightenment”, “I’m enlightened, you’re not enlightened”. This dynamic reminds me of a similar dynamic I observed while living in S. America. When I was in Peru, I met the most amazing tour guide. This guy wanted to be a tour guide since he was a child. He had so much interest and passion. He spent decades working and training in this area and was unbelievably experienced and knowledgeable. He had deep knowledge, experience and understanding of so many aspects of Peru: the history, the culture, the geography. He recognized various Peruvian accents, spoke native Peruvian languages like Quechua, understood Peruvian shamanism, religions, ayahuasca - he could play traditional Peruvian pan flutes - and on and on. During a tour of Machu Picchu, the guide told an amazingly poetic story that interwove history, geography, humanness, essence, mysticism of Macchu Picchu. The scenery behind him of Macchu Picchu was breathtaking. A the end of his beautiful story, he extended his arms out wide and said “This is South America”. Most of the tour group traveled to South America from distant lands. There was this heartwarming sense that “‘This is it. We have arrived to South America”. . . The tour guide made a few more references to “this is South America” and “I am a (true) South American”. I noticed not everyone found him heartwarming. I noticed minor conflicts between the guide and South Americans outside Peru. The guide seemed to brush them off. There was a turning point when a Colombian man told the guide that “Colombian salsa dancing is more South American than Macchu Picchu”. This escalated things as the tour guide suggested Colombian culture was not as South American as Peruvian culture - as if it wasn’t “real” South America. This stirred up tension and the Colombian man tried to communicate the essence of Colombian dancing and cuisine. The guide mentioned how he has spent decades working and studying this and the Colombian man has not. He also suggested he was a “real” South American and others from outside Peru were not. This vibe irrated some of the South Americans in the group. It then occurred to me that the guide was unaware that Peru is within South America. This was mind boggling to me. He was so attached/identified to Peru that he actually believed Peru was South America. I don’t have any attachments/identifications to South America, so it was easy for me to see, yet he couldn’t see it. If pressed on this, he would acknowledge that (technically) there are other countries in South America. Yet it was clear that at a human level he essentially believed that “real” South America was Peru. I’m not saying the guide is “wrong”. As I’ve mentioned, he was amazingly skilled and had deep understanding. It’s just that he was contracted within Peru and was not open to anything outside of Peru as being authentic South American. This limited his expansion. As well, when he dismissed other aspects of South America, it often caused inter-personal tension. A month later I was in Medellin Colombia and encountered a woman who invited me to go salsa dancing. I said absolutely. We went to various bars and clubs and salsa danced to amazing live music. Salsa dancing is so integral to their culture, it is an expression of their beingness. At one point I felt so immersed and connected to this essence. I thought “This is it. This is the South America I’ve been traveling and searching for. I have arrived. This is South America”. . . And it is. Yet so is Macchu Picchu. Neither is South America and both are South America. The Peruvian tour guide is unable to truly realize and embody this because he was immersed, identified and contracted within Peru. Similarly, the Colombian man was immersed, identified and contracted within Columbia. There is nothing “wrong” with that, it’s just contracted. I was not attached or identified with either. This allowed openness and space for exploration and expansion. I see this same dynamic play out with enlightenment. A being becomes attached/identified to an aspect within enlightenment, yet believe this aspect is enlightenment. This mindset will keep a mind-body contracted to an aspect of enlightenment within enlightenment.

@David Hammond Thanks for sharing those insights. Good stuff ♥️ ? Just an observation: you seem to be assuming that groundless is grounded. That a somewhere is nowhere/everywhere. These mental constructs of enlightenment and how to attain enlightenment yield wonderful insights and realizations. It’s very tempting for a mind to become attached and identified to such realizations and the attachment/identification can be extremely subtle. Yet all of it can get deconstructed to nothing. It’s the output of a human mind filter and there is a “prior” to that filter - including all the filtered insights you, me, Leo, everyone on this forum and every sage, mystic, guru, teacher is communicating. -
Awareness and observation can be like medicine. Notice the awareness you have that this dynamic is playing out in your mind body, awareness that your mind-body finds it unpleasant and awareness that there is a desire it dissolves away, awareness there is a desire to be free of it. Here, awareness is like an observer. There is no need to identify with a story that “I’m too much this” or “not enough that”. Sit within the awareness itself. At times it seems like you can “step outside” this mind-body dynamic. Other times you seem to get immersed and engaged within the dynamic. You enter a “room” in which the body feels hurt and angry and the mind ruminates in thought stories. At times, you say you can shake it off, other times you become immersed and engaged. I don’t think trying to shake it off is a long term solution. It’s possible to deconstruct and release the underlying source of the dynamic. I wouldn’t focus on how the women look at you. I would bring attention to what is arising in your mind and body. Get curious and observe that. Once you understand how/why the dynamic is occurring within you, it can be dissolved or released.

Beautiful synchronicity ♥️ ? -
For me, easy, sublime, lucid. With an afterglow. Much shorter than other psychedelics.

Ime, a 5-meo breakthrough goes waaay beyond that. That question reflects a personal desire to improve one’s self esteem- yet all that stuff gets obliterated and becomes irrelevant here n breakthrough doses. Things much more profound are revealed - beyond the self construct. Upon “returning”, the illusion of the self is revealed as the self is reconstructed. The desire to improve this delusion kinda dissolves. However, I understand this is an important question to the personality. Here, I would say “yes”. Yet rather than “changing beliefs” from “bad” beliefs to “good” beliefs, I would say the nature of all beliefs is revealed and attachment/ identification to beliefs begin to dissolve. This can allow observation of personality dynamics playing out in the mind - including dynamics that were previously subconscious. This can improve the health of the mind-body, yet it’s not like trading in a set of beliefs that are bad for the self for a set of beliefs that will allow a self to attain self desires. It’s more like the whole self game is revealed as a sham. The gig is up. Then we can get in there and deconstruct the self, which will allow openness and space for trans-personal expansion and expression. If you are more interested in entering a trip to pull out some goodies for self image, I would not go to breakthrough levels. I would use low to moderate doses to attain some insights of the self that the self can use to improve it’s self.

@Patrick Lynam Psychedelics reveal stuff. What might be revealed is unknown. They may reveal something you weren’t expecting or had any idea existed. As well, each person resonates differently with psychedelics. This is just how I would handle it. . . before investing in months of time and thousands of dollars into this travel and seeking, I would take a “trial run” and see how psyches resonate with your mind-body. This might not be readily available, yet I would put effort into tripping three times before investing so much into an elaborate trip. After three trips, I knew my mind-body resonated with psyches and I felt a calling to do an Aya retreat in Peru and live in S. America for months - which was life transforming. However, not all people resonate with psyches at their stage in life. There are a lot of variables at play. If you decide to take an extended trip, I would not put all the focus on a psychedelic retreat with an expectation/hope of finding a life path. That seems like the most important thing now, yet something much more important may be revealed. For example, you could get in touch with your inner-most self and become love and whole. That might be 100x more valuable than a message to become an attorney. Going this route, I would research into the environments of the retreat. The leaders, community, the ceremonies etc. Ime, the collective consciousness of the community had a major major impact. Your personal consciousness merges with the collective consciousness, so pick a good place, not some shady outfit. Also, I would not limit the trip to a retreat. If you have two plus months, you can do some serious cultural immersion. There are opportunities to live in the homes of locals cheap. You can spend time with the family, have meals with them, learn some of their language. This can greatly expand one’s consciousness. I’m more on the introverted side and spent a lot of time just observing. Overall, I would not have the expectation and desire of attaining something specific - like finding out what specific career I should pursue. This would limit the potential of the trip. Rather, I would have a humble and genuine intention that this be a life transforming trip. This intention will allow openness and attract life transforming events. Stay within this humble genuine intention and you will be amazed by the people that will appear during the trip. Events, insights, opportunities and experiences will appear - that you can’t even imagine right now. Yet an attitude of - “I’m a hopeless loser with no direction in life. Maybe something on the trip will help me, even though I don’t deserve it” - is not the type of vibe that will attract the deep life transforming stuff. -
A person is not fully in any one stage. Each person is a mosaic of stages, yet we often say a person is “centered” in a particular stage. For example, Sam Harris is a mix of Orange, Green and Yellow. There are also different developmental lines. Many people develop fastest along the cognitive line - especially minds that are naturally left brain oriented. A person can be higher developed on some lines than others. For example, I’d say Ken Wilbur is very highly developed along the cognitive line and less so along the emotional and empathic lines. For those orientated toward cognition, these other lines aren’t very appealing. Imagine a brilliant integral thinker that cannot form healthy interpersonal relationships because they lack emotional and inter-personal skills/development. You could very well have aspects of yellow cognition. You could be attracted to yellow level thinking. Many orange level intellectuals are attracted to cognitive aspects of yellow and want to breeze over Green. It’s not uncommon to see Orange/Yellow hybrids along the cognitive line that are lagging along other lines of development. Imagine an olympic decathlete who is naturally muscular with a larger body frame. He will naturally want to work on the strength events such as the shot put and discuss. He will not be attracted to the endurance events like the 1500m run.
