  1. There's book called holographic universe by Michael Talbot, it sheds some light on your questions
  2. Agree, enlightenment is about state of being but it doesn't make you to know what life is about, whether it has purpose or not. It's spiritual ego's talks. And such denial is simpy materialist paradigm rediscovered.
  3. People here have problems with reconciling good and evil with non duality. Mainly coz they didn't overcome stage Blue on spiral dynamics. They are still governed by Red, even enlightened ones, even that they think they are full Yellow. Not quite full. So they have so much hustle with debunking idea that beliefs are false and don't see that beliefs is how brain supposed to work. Brain is religious structure. And human is born with intuitive differentiation between right and wrong. Don't believe me, but recall yourself as a kid. You had subtle intuition of right and wrong without necessarily being told so. How? It's a mystery of evolution. For instance, You can't be really good scientist (Orange) if you first didn't develop proper self-disciplined thinking in religious absolutes which isn't rational experiments but pure observation of daily life, accepting that it's up to total mystery or God, and mapping obvious constant patterns such as that hurting others lead to suffering of all (Blue). That's why modern scientists stuck compared to what was the case previously. They took previous Orange paradigm as their Blue absolute. While scientists of the past discovered Orange being Blue, they didn't deny God or fundamental mystery of creation, they clearly see that their discoveries is just partial theories, not absolute. And scientists of today made physical Universe as their God. Scientists today are Red, not Orange, and to become Orange they made physical laws as their absolute instead of accepting that absolute is a mystery. so we have so much dangerous things going on in field of genetics and ecology. For them life is limited to this physicality, because absolute is physical life which seems to be as very much obvious thing with obvious laws. So they are just way to sure or dogmatic about their logic, while real Blue isn't dogmatic about its logic, real Blue would clearly state: I dunno, it's mystery, I only know how to behave, I don't know map of mechanism of reality coz I don't really rely on rationality but I can tell you how to behave to live avoiding problems caused by desires (Red)! Of course there is a huge chance of messing up with DNA just for some ego reasons and destroying everything just because some people don't have simple understanding behind crucial notions of good and evil. Clearly, intuitive or natural flow of life has certain patterns and laws, and going against them or bringing chaos to this patterns is called evil while going with the flow is good. That choices will have consequences want it or not. One part of the story is that good is pro-life and evil is destruction of life. And that itself has many depths of understanding. It's not about only your life, but life of the whole world and the latter's survival is predominant to yours, so if you go against world using logic, emotions, desires or any other partial elements you do harm to yourself as well because that's partial and partial is chaos for the whole flow. If you are governed by intuition which is holistic (which is developed through undoing brain leadership and following what's called heart) 24/7, then you don't need to think about these categories coz you always doing alright. But mere enlightenment won't bring it to ya. It's not so easy. Fundamentally good and evil is all about life and whatever comes after life. If you don't really care about having life you surely don't care about such categories but of course as long as you are here consequences follow immediately.
  4. What’s now? Just having fun and joy without purpose or... with some higher calling?
  5. Well, faith and devotion to God can lead you to enlightenment. Thats not the main purpose of monotheistic religions, but just one step of it, it’s high step but not the highest step. That’s what I would tell him: if you still didn’t experience God even a bit, it means your faith doesn’t yet govern your life 24/7.
  6. @daramantus breath in, breath out. again, breath in, breath out. one more time, breath in, breath out. Nice now repeat until you relax your monkey mind. Good.
  7. You see suffering is necessary, have you seen one film, read one story which has no conflict/suffering of the hero? There's no life without such conflict. Animals constantly fight for life, so does human-beings. Its needed for life as we know it to exist in the first place. No fear = tiger will eat you. And I think its an accumulation of information, or turning potential into actual (without ever creating something). But its not your suffering, its just negative feelings and pain, not yours! Just is. That's the whole drama - don't take it personal and follow heart. Very challenging yes I agree.
  8. Buddha didn't remove his ego. His ego stayed with him. because you can't remove something that doesn't exist. That was the reason he escaped life. After enlightenment he still constantly went to Nirvana because life around didn't become nice. His state of being became nice, while life around him still didn't look nice to him. Its still was full of suffering and it affected his being. His sickness when he was old affected his being. Pain wasn't his but it is still being felt. Buddha has stopped suffering when he escaped life, not when he became enlightened. Hello, recall yourself whats Buddhism is initially about, its not about life or god or happiness or anything like that. Its about escape from the whole thing. Because Buddha talked about all kinds of suffering including physical and suffering that he felt from others, not just self-created. Truth is ego doesn't exist, its about god vs devil, while ego is hero or your being or zero (thats why it doesn't exist) or moving with accordance to intuitive flow of life, heart or soul and giving up your personal mind-created desires VS actions based on personal desires. First leads to harmony, second to chaos. Both has suffering, but first is sufferings that are authentic and necessary to grow, eventually they are not being your sufferings but just sufferings, and second are made-up and unnecessary and 'your' sufferings. First is life, pro-evolutionary and more order created from the chaos, less unknown and second is destruction of life, chaos, anti-evolutionary. Buddha didn't follow devil or god, he just run away from the whole thing. That's why people here are being deluded when they think that life is about doing whatever fak their mind desires. LOL nothing is further from the truth. Its about giving up your control to heart or unknown, from known desires, instincts, compulsions, thoughts to unknown, and it goes beyond enlightenment, it never ends.
  9. SOrry but you have to sacrifice your life to be unconditionally happy. Sacrifice all your desires, thoughts and social conditioning that you have. Not that easy.
  10. You can be at ease with not knowing with enlightenment, but you are still driven to read, learn and gather info. Or you just process new knowledge by mere being coz everything around is information. As long as you alive you constantly learn, life is never-ending learning process, whether you do it on purpose or by mere being. It's not up to our will, it's because being and evolution always going on and that requires data gathering. Buddha talked about not knowing coz his teaching's goal was escaping life, not living life.
  11. Is reality highly vivid/sober/lucid for you? compared to unenlightened state
  12. @Saumaya do you have sense of any high selfless purpose in life? Is there any calling?
  13. OMG OSHO said something very wise. Thats probs the only thing I don't understand about Buddha, he was fully enlightened yet so close-minded and just wanted to escape life instead of reconciling spirit and body.
  14. Hey hey guys belief as a thought is one thing. And they can always be misleading. Believing in the present moment as a state of being is another. I was talking about second. The better term is faith and trust. Faith isn't rational or emotional, it's just state of being. Faith in yourself can be good first step but not enough coz it still makes you to impose personal will hence cultivates self-image and separateness. It's rather about having faith in this pure present moment, releasing mind games and hence letting go your self-image. And eventually here you stumble upon having life moving without having self, you come to conclusion that you are being governed by some force which cannot be Comprehended. Having faith or trusting in that force which is beyond comprehension without having doubts about it, and giving up yourself and your life for that force will basically get rid of you as a separate entity with personal desires. That's enlightenment through monotheistic religions' methods like prayer, contemplation, and many many more. That's why all religions are about sacrificing your self.
  15. When you talk about beliefs you usually mean beliefs in concepts, ideas. That's not the first purpose of belief. The first purpose of belief isn't reasoning or thinking that something is true. It's about having state of being of strong confidence, trust, faith. When all the skepticism and doubt exhausts itself through deconstruction, and they will, you'll realise you no longer know anything and you are not sure about anything about life and reality. You only left with believing or having faith in what is in front of you, and that 'what is' is or is governed by god which is word for 'that or that force which is beyond comprehension'. Or 'what is in front of you' is beyond thinking. So doubts and reasons are left for mind things, where they belong, while truth is based on believing as a state of being. After this your faith grows stronger and makes your monkey mind more and more silent, you let go things, you let life take its flow outsourcing all your problems and burdens to that force which cannot be comprehended. So you become free of everything because it's all god's will, it's not up to yourself. So eventually there's no more you as a separate human because nothing is up to you. See? You no longer resist and control your life but let yourself to be governed by that which cannot be comprehended. By being slave of god you realise great freedom and equanimity. Less mind and less judgement = more awareness of the pure presence. That's the same way how absolute manifests creation, through mere belief it does it. And you meet absolute through the same way. While all the techniques is there for you not to confuse 'believing in what is' as a state of being with 'believing in some ideas'. Ideas and concepts should be left for mind, that's mind's job to sort out ideas and concepts and 'know how to' through reasoning and doubting everything. While truth of being can be seen with strong faith, belief, trust, confidence. But you can't easily arrive there without first questioning life, so doubt is necessary, until it exhausts itself. That's why faith is irrational.
  16. check out Sri Aurobindo, he is famous for his understanding of spiritual evolution of homo sapiens
  17. @Leo Gura I mean believing in a sense of having faith and trust. You know like: 'I believe in myself' (not in idea about self, but that I have sense of faith and confidence and trust in this moment) or 'I believe that its alright and its God's will' Having strong faith and trust is necessary, I think without it mind can't stop doubting present moment.
  18. Many knowledgeable teachers strongly recommend against activating kundalini on purpose. Don’t do it, let it come spontaneously throughout your path. If you do it on purpose it can hurt your body and mind. Only if your body and all chakras are purified, only then it’s not harmful.
  19. @Elisabeth everyone’s, because that’s how reality works, I intuit it in everyone. You wouldn’t be born if reality didn’t have job for you. I think Leo said once that we got to be vehicle of god’s will and let him work through us. That’s how life is supposed to be ideally. Humans are all different precisely because of evolution’s specialisation. God specialises himself, so some people do science, some people do religion, some people write books, some write music etc. and maybe even raising children and doing family things can be main purpose who knows? Earth survival and everyone’s life and happiness benefits this way. If it wasn’t the case then we all would have same talents and would do only one thing and destroy the planet already. I’ve experienced it, tbh my purpose is quite complicated to explain but big part of it has to do with future of evolution of Homo sapiens, at least to my current understanding that’s how it seems to be, but of course it can lead to anywhere. @Nahm no man, this didn’t come up from my thinking or my emotions, so I’m not implying dogma or idea. It came from my silent inner teacher/heart/soul after I started to eradicate desires. Less desires you have - more you see what your soul wants. You can discover it too and very quickly coz you are enlightened already (I guess). Because ask yourself, even if nothing exists - what then you gonna do? Only have fun and engage in hedonism? But for how long that can be sustainable thing to do? It will make you bored fast. Why not to go for an adventure that god destined you to go for? JoCampbell noticed this - hero is usually pre-destined to fulfil particular kind of purpose, so you too are pre-destined for particular thing. Maybe it relates to unconditional love? You can share how you discovered agape, and what it is really. For instance, neither me nor many ppl here experienced what infinite love is and how it relates to nature of reality. Even if it can be experienced, I’d love to read how it is more than just a feeling. That can be great purpose man.
  20. @egoless actually i am not it can be seen before enlightenment
  21. @BjarkeT you will become good at ur craft and become happy. thats essential. but the purpose isn't just being good and happy. purpose is in sacrifice for higher good, that which is higher than yourself if ur main purpose is craft and happiness then u can feel meaningless when things go bad, but if your purpose is beyond yourself you will always go forward
