Well, I decided to give it a try, and went for about 14 minutes. If you do one next Sunday, add a little more detail. Like, for this one: - Am I supposed to look at one hand only, or can I switch? (For this exercise, I switched hands when my arm got tired) - Am I looking for anything in particular? Like, examining the lines on my palm, or just staring at my hand in general - Do any of these details really matter? If I'd had a little more info in this regard (as well as a little more time... I just ran across this post), I probably would've went for longer. If anybody else tries this challenge, try stretching out your palm as far as you can when you're looking at it, then relaxing it. If you stare at your hand long enough, it's almost as if you're looking at someone else's. Anyway, I can't see very well, so I couldn't, for example, examine the lines on my fingerprint. So I hope next week's challenge isn't a visual one -
I think you guys know what I'm talking about, right? Like, on the macro level, compatibilists are right that there's a valid philosophical distinction between doing what you want and doing something not under duress. On the micro though, it doesn't really matter, since you have no real control either way. So that leads me to believe I should stick to the micro, but how do you think about topics such as masculine and feminine energy or chakras on that level? I mean, WTF is a chakra anyway? How do you even quantify that chemically? Is masculine and feminine energy just the difference between testosterone and estrogen?

I'd like to start off by saying that I'm far from an authority on this stuff, so grain of salt, and all that. I reckon there's a lot of intellectual oranges out there looking over at green, scratching their heads, and going, 'Do I REALLY have to?' I mean, who wants to be like those nasty SJWs and blue-haired feminists, right? I've even seen some of you trying to grapple with green's politics, and not having much luck. So it's no wonder some of you (esp. if you've reached yellow levels intellectually) just want to skip it and pretend it doesn't exist. Well, first of all, you can't skip a stage. It's like trying to skip puberty... that's not how that works. Second of all, green is a paradigm shift from orange, similar to how orange is from blue and blue is from yellow. It's the yin to orange's yang - a perfect synergy. Third of all, what I'd like to convey most to all of you is this; fuck the politics. Seriously. Even though green tends to be very political, green is not about politics or an ideology. The essence of green is all about the 'feels'. I'm talking about things such as nurturing and empathy, something that an orange needs to truly embody, rather than to simply understand logically. So, how do you do that? I think the quickest way to get a glimpse is to get your hands on some MDMA. (Shrooms might also work, but not as reliable. Also, make sure you use a test kit if you go this route.) If you've done MDMA before, you know exactly what green is. And, I've never tried 5-meo before, but from the way it's been described, I'd say MDMA is to green what 5-meo is to turquoise. If you don't want to or can't try MDMA (or maybe you have tried it and you want to know how to get back to that place while sober), what you need to do is start embracing your feminine side. I know some of you just threw up in your mouth a little, but bare with me. All of us guys (and of course gals) have feminine energy inside of us, though most of us don't recognize it for what it is. It's kind of euphoric and feels a bit like a mild MDMA dose. When it hits you (like when you think of a significant other you dearly miss), it feels like a wave of emotion rushing through you, and may even make you tear up a little. There's tons of articles and videos out there on how to increase this energy, but at this point, I've no idea what works and what doesn't. I've had it flowing through me much more so than usual as of late, for unknown reasons. Anyway, once you get a proper dose of this energy (whatever chemical concoction it happens to be on the micro level), green's politics (as well as the dynamics between men and women) should start to make a lot more sense. You may not agree with them (esp. if you're more of an intellectual yellow), but you'll know where they're coming from. Anyway, hope this helps a little (Edit: Typo)

It won't move you up, any more than 5-meo would move you up to turquoise. The point is just to try it out and see what it's like, so you have an idea of where you're headed. You still have to get there on your own

Yeah, this strikes me as a very orange video. It's dripping with masculine energy. However, when he talks about being responsible for the evil in the world... I'd never personally considered that.

I've seen people posting videos and/or trying to determine whether this person or that person is yellow or green, so thought I'd chime in. IMO, one of the telltale signs that somebody is one or the other is their attitude towards tier 1 stages. In the political videos posted in the green megathread, it's very easy to see that green has much contempt for blue/orange. Yellow, on the other hand, doesn't really have contempt for anyone, and doesn't have such a black & white view of the universe. Nor does it moralize, as green tends to. Another big difference is that you'll often see green get emotionally triggered by a variety of different things, whereas yellow is much harder to rattle. (Don't forget also that it's possible for one person to embody more than one stage.) So if you think you're a yellow but you still tend to judge blue/orange/green, you've got some more work to do, friend

As I understand it, consciousness is an infinite, intelligent, singularity, which means consciousness is self-aware, and that's all there is. And so that is what you are. (Reality, by extension is just consciousness thinking about itself, making it an infinite hallucination/dream). To embody your 'true' self (consciousness) instead of the ego you've been identifying with all your life is what enlightenment is. Problem is, you can't get there through the intellect, because that which knows must remain unknowable. Well, that's the best I've got anyway

This is one yellow-ass video right here Also, check out Leo's and Sam Harris's videos on free will.

You strike me as an intellectual yellow, but an emotional orange. I have some experience with that myself The good news for you is that, just like you can fully embody orange without being a greedy asshole, you can fully embody green without becoming one of those nasty SJWs that nobody likes. Green isn't so much about progressive politics (although you can use that as a base for understanding where green is coming from) as it is really opening yourself up to people so that you have genuine empathy and compassion for them. Sure, you can bypass all that shit, but that's going to be a road block on your way to turquoise. (And this is why they say you can't skip stages - each one builds on the previous one.) Just try green on for awhile, and if you really have trouble with it, try to find some MDMA and do it with someone you care about. I think Leo really undersells MDMA as a tool for spiritual growth, which is understandable, considering its high potential for misuse. But my first MDMA trip was an eye-opener in regard to what empathy really is all about. So far, it has been the most profound psychedelic I've tried. (Still need to get my hands on some 5-meo.)

When it comes to productivity, psychedelics may end up having the opposite effect, like if they make you start questioning if what you're trying to be more productive on is really worth the effort in the first place. I certainly don't mean to discourage you from trying them, but not for the reasons you're thinking about. Psychedelics are more about mind expansion (allowing you to see things and think about things in ways you normally couldn't) vs. just getting shit done faster

I couldn't imagine trying to get anything productive done with 150+ ug of LSD But if you're interested in psychedelics as a means to enhance creativity and induce flow states, you're probably better off trying to microdose. I haven't tried it myself, but have seen several articles talking about microdosing LSD, so that's apparently a thing now.

It all depends on the individual. If you go to sites like cannabisrehab.org or r/leaves on Reddit, you'll see some people have a really hard time with it. As for me, I quit a 3 year daily habit; slept like crap for about a week and a half, and then I was okay. Still use from time to time, but not on the regular.
