Maybe because according to with his documentary, he was one of the first to bring this east knowledge to the west and westerners see the world vastly different from the easterns. Maybe it is more appealing here in the west to say that yoga will bring you more calmness and thus productivity in work then it is to say that it will bring enlightenment or union with the divine. And then give the true teaching to the ones who takes spirituality seriously. -

Yes, you DO have to possess a freaking open-mindedness. I suspect that suffering brought us all here and usually mentally ill people suffer a lot and tend to look for alternatives beyond the common truth. I am particularly interested in this because all my mother family has a serious illness and i suspect that is due to spiritual awakenings that they are ignorant about and fight forever with it. -

Of course my unsatisfaction with the subject is a projection of my deep-rooted worries, i am aware of that, but still, seems to be a common thing in spiritual communities and i rarely see anyone talking about it. And yes, it is a distraction, almost everything is, this forum is basically a giant collective mental masturbation space (not saying that i don't like it, i am here for a reason). -

You made good points and spoke with kindness, i like you. Indeed, it isn't the first comment i receive about lack of kindness in my words, i guess is a reflection on how i treat myself, in a masculine way, with hard raw facts, works for me and i assume that works for others but i may be wrong. -

Probably you are right but i wasn't trying to be mean when i recommended professional help, this seems to be frequent in spiritual communities. How would you say? -

Assuming that he isn't just a troll, he seems delusional and made little to no sense at all. -

High QI isn't everything and you seem to be in need of some professional help. -

I experimented with ayahuasca 9 times in religious settings ("Santo Daime" and "UDV"). When i was doing some research, i found several reports of people who took ayahuasca for themselves in a non-religious setting and it went pretty bad, i read one that the experience went horribly, left most people involved traumatized and one even committed suicide. I am not saying that this will happen to you but maybe there is a reason that ayahuasca is usually taken in a controlled setting with experienced people/shamans. The one time i took a moderate/high dose of shrooms (5g) i found it very powerful and the trip was pretty similar from the ones i had with ayahuasca. -

As far as i know, almost everything affects your consciousness, food(big time), people, toxins(air, water, earth, hygiene products etc), environment, water, radiation, medication, nutrients, hell, even planetary alignment( and eclipses) is said to affect consciousness. -

@Outer You are in a forum about spirituality and enlightenment, science isn't going to be much helpful. Experience is king. -

According to Osho, and many books i read, the chakras location vary from person to person (not majorly but there are minor differences). For instance, most books i read says that the solar plexus chakra is right above the navel but i tend to feel it at least 15cm above, almost where your picture points to. My bet is that it is tour solar plexus chakra and your heart chakra is somewhere in the middle of your chest. -

@Cudin @Cudin I think it also depends of the quality of the weed, you said you live in Brazil(me too) and we know that the weed here is usually pretty bad. In places where it is legalized, you can choose a type that's strong, give you less anxiety, or something like this, i also think that it has fewer contaminants. Weed has some side effects like lowering your sleep quality that has so many effects on your life. When i used to smoke, i started to noticed that even days after i smoke, my meditation would suffer, my mind was agitated and a little anxious, it was hard to focus. When i dropped it, i felt a lot of withdrawn symptoms for almost 2 weeks. Have you tried mushrooms? I used to prefer LSD but when i did mushrooms, i loved it and the trip is shorter, which is nice for most people that don't have much spare time. It is also more natural, is hard to find a high grade pure LSD here in Brazil. -

Sadhguru recommends basically a raw foods diet (with exception of onion and garlic, they make the mind agitated). -
Recursoinominado replied to isabel's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Vegetarians that eat only raw foods are rare, as anything, you have to research a little about it because the transition will cause some effects (mostly detox effects) since you are eating the diet that you suppose to eat probably for the first time in your life and your body now its on healing mode (and as all types of healing, you will experience some discomforts). Its not a matter of only take the pasta out of your diet, you actually only eat fruits and raw vegetables (carrots, beets, cucumber, cabbage, greens, herbs, spices etc). I recommend Arnold Ehret books and Dr. Robert Morse and Liferegenaretor channels on youtube. I was a vegan before and i still had lots of problems until i learned about detox/fasting/raw foods, i have never been so healthy, happy, free from aches, pains and i am only in the beginning of the journey, i can only imagine how i will feel some years ahead. It really accelerated my spiritual development, it made me deal with a lot of shit that was being suppressed with food. It is not for everyone, only for those who want to be the best that they can be. -
Recursoinominado replied to isabel's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Humans were made to eat mostly fruits and some raw vegetables, herbs and spices. When you go away from it, you will suffer in one way or another. Basically, you will create all sorts of imbalances and blocks in your digestive tract that will spread to your whole body. Inflammations, allergies, aches, pains, joint problems, brain fog, anxiety, anger issues, energy blocks, all sorts of diseases will arise. But don't take my words as a fact, try for yourself, go at least one week on a strict fruitarian diet and notice how high you feel. Yes, i noticed that you are wanting to discuss the moral aspect of it in a non-dual perspective but i will drop my 2 cents anyway. -
Recursoinominado replied to Cudin's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
The problem with weed is that it appears to be a harmless habit so you get conditioned to want to smoke in a variety of situations (feeling sad, happy, hungry, horny, sleepy, awake, bored etc). Its way harder to do this with LSD especially considering that its a 10h trip(so you can't do it anytime), it builds up tolerance quickly, it's hard to build a strong habit of it. The worse i did with LSD was once a week (not even strong dosages, mostly 1/4 of a tab) and as for weed i did several times a day, every day. Although i see how you can become lightly addicted to LSD, in my experience, it doesn't even compare with weed addiction. -

When you fail to love unconditionally the one that failed is the next in line to be loved and accepted, as Matt Kahn says. Don't beat yourself for not being able to love as you think you should, just try to accept the one that failed and try again, one step at a time. The answer isn't to say fuck you ego, but to integrate all parts of it, even the one who can't love or the one that thinks he MUST love. -

As an ex weed addict, i completely agree. Cannabis has its uses, it gave me a LOT of deep insights, including the one that made me drop it but one has to be careful to not overuse it or use it as an escape. -

Exactly what i think and do. I came to a point that i had to admit that i probably don't know shit about what's true or not. I found myself believing things that before i would scream "non-sense!". life gave my humility to be open-minded to anything, now i take everything that comes to me with an "hmm lets try this, who knows" attitude and it is going great for me, learning and growing a lot more, talking and judging a lot less. Ram Dass said something along the lines: All methods are traps and you have to let yourself be trapped in order to work. The only hope is for them to self-destruct in order to go beyond them. He often talked about "professional meditators" and if you ask them what are they, they will define themselves as meditators. If you ask them whether they prefer to be a meditator or be free, they will prefer to be a meditator. In essence, don't be attached, use your inner guru to decide what method you need in the moment and be aware to let go of it at any time. For a long time i felt that formal meditations (like vipassana or kriya yoga) weren't doing any good for me in the sense that i was feeling like shit, totally out of touch with "reality" but i thought that i NEEDED to have a formal meditation practice although it was doing me more harm than good, until i learned that there was a LOT of paths and they all work, i just had to listen to my intuition. Now i focus on karma yoga and bhakti yoga, is more like a moment by moment meditation, just being aware, trying to be loving, accepting and listen to the divine inteligence. -
Recursoinominado replied to pluto's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@pluto I am working for it. Recently i learned about fasting and raw living foods and how their higher vibration makes us more sensitive to higher frequencies. As my third eye opens, i am becoming more receptive higher messages, usually disguised as intuition, thoughts, feelings, synchronicities etc. Unfortunately, my body and my nervous system represent a bottleneck in this process, i can only go as fast as their ability to integrate a higher vibration (which causes a lot of emotional purging). But i am ok with it, everything is happening as it should be. -
