So, then what are most girls in the night life scene in a place like Vegas initially looking for?
-
If girls go to the clubs or bars to find a guy to have casual sex with then why do most of the girls by the end of night not go home with a guy for an ONS?
-
Oh, I didn't realize that.
-
Why is Hamas actually doing this when they probably aren't going to win against Israel?
-
This is very sad. I now feel like the whole world is going to hell with all of these wars going on in the world. What's next? China invading Taiwan next year? It also saddens me that it seems like Israel is doomed to never reached any peace agreement with the Palestinians and other Arab countries within our lifetimes.
-
Yeah, it's very unfortunate that where he stands.
-
Well, I believe that there should be a two state solution.
-
Then, where are the Jews supposed to go? Don't they deserve a homeland?
-
Hmm...well to be fair, Israel was made to be a home primarily for Jews and possibly for Arabs. After everything the Jews have been through in all of history, they are doing everything they can to protect their precious territory. I guess that's why Zionism has continued and will continue on as a prominent force in Israel for the foreseeable future.

America also has a massive amount of evangelicals and other large sects of fundamentalist Christians. America still has a larger percentage of religious folk than Western European countries and Canada do. Especially with the large amount rabid Trumpists there are in the US.
-
Yeah, recent times in US history has been corrupted by the right-wing media and corporate donors who need to be held accountable for jeopardizing the fabric of our country's democracy and freedoms.
-
I would've thought that Israel is more Orange like America is. There economy, infrastructure, cultural beliefs, education per capita, civil rights, and level of democracy are all on par with 1st world countries.
-
Alright, well fair enough. I assume that you believe that progressives tend to overestimate their understanding of US history.
-
Well you know how progressives love to say that Democrats since the 80s to 90s haven't done as much as FDR or LBJ. Teddy Roosevelt and and Woodrow Wilson also made dramatic historic changes on the order of the New Deal or the Great Society. I get now that TR, WW, FDR were able to transform the country to degree that they were able to because of the profound crises combined with the overwhelming liberal/progressive movements that occurred during their presidencies. Plus they each had a much more bipartisan and functional government. However, LBJ was able to push though all his Great Society programs even during a period when there was no crisis and the Dixiecrats along with the rest of the conservative coalition did everything in their power to get in the way of his programs. Progressives say it's because he was so skilled at playing hardball. Then again, Congress back during his presidency was at its most functional level and had the greatest amount of bipartisan consensus in arguably all of US history. Plus, Democrats I guessed back then weren't as deep into the pockets of corporations and wealthy donors as they have been since the era of neoliberalism first emerged.
-
Arguably in the grand scheme of things, but do you think that the 40+ years of neoliberalism and conservative politics our country has been experiencing has significantly slowed down much needed progress in structural changes to the economy and civil rights in the US compared to say during the early 1900s progressive era or the 40 years of the extended new deal era/modern liberalism during the mid 1900s?

I hope one day that the everyday people will one march over to properties of the 1% of rich people in this country and steal all of their money.

Extra careful for what? I wonder why the CA state legislatures didn't include provisions that would have good regulations for it? Maybe they didn't seriously want it to pass? -

Do you think he did that because he's making a serious run president in case Biden drops out of the race 2024 or for a future presidential run and doesn't want to come off as being too far to the left for the general population of the whole country? Or was it because of some of his corporate donors and the police force who put too much pressure on him not to sign it into law? -

Sadly, Newsom had vetoed the bill. He said that even though he supports "'new opportunities to address mental health through psychedelic medicines like those addressed in this bill,' the state needs to establish regulations for the use of these substances before they are legalized." “California should immediately begin work to set up regulated treatment guidelines — replete with dosing information, therapeutic guidelines, rules to prevent against exploitation during guided treatments, and medical clearance of no underlying psychoses. Unfortunately, this bill would decriminalize possession prior to these guidelines going into place, and I cannot sign it,” Newsom said in his veto statement. https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2023-10-07/gavin-newsom-psychedelics-magic-mushrooms-sb-58-veto-drugs-california -
But he did erode his country's democracy:
-
While I don't like encroachment of Israel on Gaza, the leaders of Hamas have never had any genuine interest in negotiating any real peace treaties with Israel.

Since around the early 2000s the areas of the country that have voted Democratic have been those that are urban, coastal, diverse, more secular and more well-educated. Florida is on the coast, has big cities, is one of the 7 most diverse states in the country, and has numerous well-educated and non-religious people throughout the entire state. I get that the state has now recently become a solid red state because of what has happened since 2016 including Trumpism, Ron DeSantis, the growing number of latin immigrants who moved there from countries that had failed socialist regimes, the growing number of old white retirees having moved to the states, and the Democratic party's poor level of organization down there. But given its demographics isn't it still possible for the state to turn solid blue some day in the future?

The inflation rate in the US has been back to a relatively normal level since about a few months ago and wage growth has been outpacing the rate of inflation for the vast majority of Americans for over 5 month now. In fact, some top economists have argued that real wages are now significantly higher than they were before the pandemic. What's really going on now is that the cumulative inflation over the past 2 to 3 years hasn't come down yet. That means that even though wages of everyday Americans has been growing significantly faster than the rate of inflation for 5 months now, it still hasn't yet compensated for the 2+ years of inflation that did outpace the wage growth of most Americans. Economists say that from here on out most Americans will have completely recovered their purchasing power sometime by end of next year as wage growth keeps outpacing the rate of inflation.

huh?
